If 10 stars were available, I would have scored it a 10. The absolute best car buying experience I have ever had - start to finish. I cannot say enough good things about this dealership. These days, much of the gamesmanship is gone from buying a car (thank God) and it really comes down to the buying experience. The Murdock team nailed it!! Great buying experience.

Alicia Derusseau did an excellent job on the sale side. Very knowledgeable about the vehicle and did an excellent job of listening and presenting the vehicle. Not pushy or arrogant. Very friendly.

Finance is sometime the stressful part of buying a car. NOT at Murdock. Very respectful and truly wanted to help and get the deal done. The finance manager, Tom is excellent. Down to earth and practical.

Buying from Murdock Chevy was the best experience possible. I was just casually looking at the inventory with my man when Young Jones approached us, and right off the bat she was so pleasant. She came out to us in the rain, and got us to come inside and talk about what I was looking for. We talked about how we’re expecting and needing an upgrade- but wasn’t quite sure on a truck or a SUV. She asked every question possible to make sure she could find the perfect vehicle. Kept within our price range, decent mileage, safe for baby. They also offered me a VERY fair trade in value for my car and bike. She never made me feel pressured and was honest about vehicles that may be too expensive, too much, not enough, etc.
We looked at a couple chevys and then called it quits for the day because it was after hours.
The next day, not only was Young extremely communicative, so was the finance manager Tom! He was exceptional at finding a bank that would absorb my negative equity, and get me the best possible monthly payment with a trustworthy bank. That same day I was signing paperwork for a new-to-me Equinox!! The process was so quick and easy and Young made it extremely fun with her bubbly personality and jokes to keep it all lighthearted and exciting.
Not only that, but when I traded in my car- I forgot I took the wheel lock with me for the wheels. So the service department called me the next day and asked if I could bring it in, and they would fill my gas tank! (they didn’t get to fill my tank because I think I missed the guy that I spoke to- but the offer was still more than exceptional and it was late anyway so I’m not mad about it).
Overall 10/10 experience. If you’re looking for a new car, chat with Young at Murdock and she will get you taken of! I’m extremely happy with my purchase and will go back for any needs moving forward.

My fiance and I bought a truck in June 2024. The next day the check engine light came on, Murdock towed the truck to them and said they would fix the issue, 2 weeks later we go to pick up our truck and don't even leave the parking lot for the check engine line to return and truck was running very rough. Supposedly the same issue it was just "fixed" for. They then has the truck for 2 months. We tried asking to back out or look at other options and they refuse. A few months later we have to shell out $3000 tof fic another issue, Then a month later we need a new engine. We haven't even had this truck a year. Was a very disrespectful experience for a young family.

The services department is very unprofessional. I called to verify and appointment and the lady who answered responded with what you need and uh huh. I asked other questions and got answered unprofessionally. Not too mention it’s my first time dealing with them. I wouldn’t recommend it especially with the services department.

Initially, I was hesitant to bring my car here after reading some of the online reviews about service. However, being from out of town and in need of service, I decided to give them a chance. My check engine light had come on shortly after having a new transmission installed at another Chevrolet dealership.

Not only did she resolve the check engine light issue, but she also addressed concerns related to the transmission work performed by the other Chevrolet dealership.

Was looking for a small daily driver. Found a Nissan listed online by Murdock. Went in to see the vehicle and was helped by Young. She was nice and didn’t hesitate to let us test drive. The car was as expected, cleaned and filled up upon delivery. Very satisfied with the experience and would recommend Young and this dealership.

This place is a disaster. In general the staff is apathetic, unprofessional, and incompetent. Wasted no less than 8 hours of my time. Someone there called to tell me a new fleet vehicle was ready for pickup. When I got there to pick it up first they said they don't have it, then they said it didn't exist, then they said they have it but don't have any paperwork, then they said they haven't done the legally required inspection, then they said they hadn't put on the accessories yet. Spent 2 hours there waiting for them to find the truck and inspect it. Then had to make another appointment to get accessories installed. Dropped off on time at 8am, was told it would be a couple hours tops and they would call. I finally called them around 3 to get more bs about it was ready for a while but nobody called because someone needed to close the ticket. I would have been better off timewise ordering the truck to a dealer with their s together in Topeka or KC.

Our rep, Frank, at Murdock was very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were interested in and was very fair with dealing with management to get the best price for us. I would highly recommend him and the dealership.

Frank was able to narrow down the truck I was looking to purchase that met both my needs and preferences with incredible accuracy. The entire process was efficient and the staff were very professional.

Made an appointment for them to change a wheel speed sensor. Knew exactly what the problem was no need to diagnose just change a part.
Several days later, took it in to the appointment by the end of the day they had done nothing but diagnose the problem and had to order a part, which wouldn’t be there for several days.
They could’ve had the part on hand by the time of the appointment and no need to diagnose at all because it was exactly what we told them. $200 diagnostic fee
Was going to be another $250 and 2 days to actually change the part
Called Brown’s in Wamego and same day they could change the part for $170 total no need for a diagnostic.
Service representative claimed they didn’t remember the conversation about what the problem was.
Will never take anything back there

Phenomenal customer service, and absolute miracle workers when it comes to getting financing approved for the unfinancable such as myself. And saleslady Young Jones is outstanding.

Got me in the same day to do a recall software update. Very nice lady checking the vehicles in and out. Been buying vehicles and getting repairs done at Murdocks for about 30 years. They do a great job.

Recently got an oil change and tire rotation. Service was performed well. A few days later I had a nail in tire and took to tire shop for repair only to be told tread was too low to repair and needed a new tire. I was disappointed that I received a multipoint inspection and paid for tire rotation just to be told by a tire shop they would not have even attempted to rotate if we asked them. I called service shop last week Friday and today and left voicemail and currently no response.

This was probably the best car buying experience I've had. From the moment I walked in, the sales team did a great job, especially Frank Esterly. Friendly but not pushy, no time wasted at any point in the sales process, and a great deal on both sides of my trade in. Can't recommend these guys enough!

I like going to chevy because they always fix my car up for reasonable price and is all good. The only thing i don't like about this chevy is the people handling the calls in the repair shop, they always sound tired and are sloppy and i cant understand what they are saying and seem to get frustrated when i ask for them to repeat. Their customer service needs work.

So my car broke down on the side of the road almost a month ago, and I had my car taken to Murdock Manhattan to see what was wrong with it because I had my turbocharger fixed by them before. They came back with the diagnosis saying that I needed a whole new turbocharger and fuel injector assembly because the turbocharger they replaced in my car was a bad one sent by the manufacturer, and the fuel injector was damaged causing leakage. To make a long story short, I had them replace only the turbocharger because my extended warranty covers it but not the fuel injector, and the price for them to fix the fuel injector was almost $1k, which is too much. I told them I’d take my car somewhere else to get the fuel injector done for a cheaper price, which is what I am currently doing. The mechanic is fixing the fuel injector and other parts that need replacing right now, and as he’s taking the parts out of my car to replace them, he sends me pictures and tells me that a Sonic take out bag is lodged under the hood of my car and looks torn up. Neither I nor anyone else has even looked under the hood of my car since I took it to Murdock Manhattan, so seeing this upsets me, hence why my star rating is low. Well that and other aspects, like Sylvia’s attitude and tone whenever I would call to check on the status of my car. She just seemed annoyed every time I called, but being 20 and pregnant, I just needed my car to be done asap. I won’t be taking my car back here. The Sonic bag pretty much sealed the deal for me.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!

We purchased a truck from this dealership in March/April 2024. We thought we were being taken cared of honestly. We talked with our salesperson about what we needed from a truck, which was to pull our camper trailer. He spent decent time with us, asked us all the right questions and found us a truck that could do everything we needed. It was a ford, not a GMC, but it was a bigger engine and within our price range. We were both hesitant with a 2020 truck that already had 70,000 miles on it, but we were assured that anything that may go wrong within the first couple of months would be covered by the limited warranty. Our salesperson even worked at great lengths that we got a good vehicle loan. Our sales person is not the problem, it's Murdock as a whole. They did NOT honor their limited warranty after the engine light came on 4 days after we purchased the truck. We took it in immediately, and the mechanic tech stupidly erased the codes before running them to see what was wrong. Instead of calling us, they took it upon their selves to drive OUR truck for an entire day. We dropped off at 8am and NO ONE called us. We called THEM at 4pm wondering what was going on with our new vehicle. We were told that engine lights do not come on automatically in the larger engines and that they may or may not reappear after being driven for 100 miles. So we took it home, three hours later, the engine light came back on. We got it read at AutoZone, learning that the code had to do with the catalytic converter. Took it back to the dealership the next day, they ran their own codes on the truck, agreed with the catalytic converter, then promptly said they do not cover catalytic converters in the warranty. We literally had this truck in our possession for less than a week! So much for bumper to bumper quality control inspections! We fought with Murdock, our salesperson fought for us as well, that this should be covered with our warranty, that this was not a result of us over using/abusing the vehicle. Murdock finally gave in and agreed to fix the problem. They kept our truck for days. We called after two weeks asking what the status was of our truck, they said that they don't want to work on our truck because it is a Ford, the ford dealership will not honor THEIR warranty, so we were to take our truck to an independent muffler repair shop that was to be paid by Murdock. This shop claims there was nothing wrong with the converter, and that did not know how to reset the engine light. Did he even look at it?

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY, we took the truck into Ford because the light is *STILL* on among other issues. Ford stated that the catalytic converter is the wrong size and quoted us for $4400 to fix this. We were also told that the catalytic was an aftermarket piece. So, once again, so much for bumper to bumper, quality control inspections.

Disappointed in Murdock would be an understatement. I'm livid! They sold us a faulty vehicle and will not repair it, in fact, they refuse to repair it.

I will tell anyone and everyone the shady dealings of Murdock Car Dealership! This is not right, this is not good... this is poor, poor customer service!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

They offered to do a diagnostic on my rear driver side blinker and light for $159 dollars when we told them the problem, just so they can make sure of what we're saying is correct. It would've also taken several hours according to them to even get to it. This was an easy fix thanks to AutoZone in Junnction City. If you need to get a check up on your car don't go here, go somewhere where people care about the services they're giving.

Anjelica had or got answers to all of our questions promptly, she didnt try to sugar coat or hide anything. She was upfront with the condition of the van and sent me pictures of all the imperfections she saw. She was very trustworthy and fun to work with! Everyone we worked with was great!! We would drive to Manhattan again and purchase at Murdock!

I feel like I'm their only customer! Very personal, the salesman Frank, that sold us our Colorado eight months ago found me in the waiting lounge, wanting to make sure we were happy and getting along well with our new truck. The service staff were polite, explaining everything they would be doing, how long it would take, where I could wait...and let them know if I needed anything. Exceptional customer service!

BEWARE….was very interested in buying a car we liked here. Got to the point of running actual numbers and potentially running our credit . They tried to gloss over the fact the car had been in an accident and had STRUCTURAL DAMAGE on the car fax. I will be doing my business with a dealer that is upfront about important things like past accidents. 0/10 recommend.

I recently purchased a Chevy Trax. Through The Chevy app I ordered a cargo liner. It said it would fit my vehicle. I tried to install it and I couldn’t get it installed. I took it to Murdoch Thomas, who works in service, helped me install it. We ended up having to drill holes in the back of my seat to get it to be secured. he went above and beyond to help me. After some further research, Chevy sent me the wrong liner. Thomas saved the day!!
