The receptionist was very accommodating and sympathetic. High winds blew siding off my house and she found a technician to come out right away with very little notice to put up mitigating plastic until the insurance claim has been processed. The technician was super. Very polite very capable. And he got over here before the rain storm!

Joshua was friendly, polite, and kind and did great work. I know my house will sell quicker because of the new paint on the front door and all the closets work beautifully! Thanks very much.

Kelly R. of Mr. Handyman of Hampton-Newport News re-installed a stair railing. He was at my home on time and began working right away. He was polite and the work he did was top notch. He cleaned up any mess that he made while working.

Estimated repair was not what work was done very misleading. When they charge you for an outside faucet repair at almost 500.00 they are Ripping you off. $350 for labor to install a new outside faucet. No wonder they have mixed reviews on their pricing. I will never recommend them. I will never use them again. I was ready to spend a lot of money on getting them to help me with my deck boards replacement and pool deck. They did call and take 100.00 off my price. I will watch my Bank and see if that action happens. Don’t trust them with your estimate be specific about what they’re going to do And for how much. My husband told them what we needed when he came in and he just automatically came up with $497. We thought he was gonna repair or something. My floor is still not repaired. The leak under the house is still not repaired so I paid almost $500 for a faucet to be repaired.. Please be mindful of what you agreed to with them if you ever use them.

Anthony was polite and worked diligently to finish my list of tasks . install a new pre hung door on my shed. replace two ceiling fans. remove an a/c holder from a window. carry an old ac to the curb. carry the two ceiling fans to the curb. he kept me up to date on how things were going and made sure i knew how to use the new fans....its my second time using the handyman of NN and hampton they once again did a great job for me.

Excellent service and the job was finished rather quickly. About an hour for 3 tasks. MT was highly professional and joy to be around. Will be using them again in the near future for other projects.

Very pleased with Mr. Handyman for repairs to damage from a water leak. Anthony C did a great job with that and another smaller clean up job in the kitchen that I had originally been unable to figure out how to accomplish.

My technician was great (Josh)! He ran into some unexpected hiccups when completing the repairs but did everything he could to make sure the job was done appropriately.

Not only was the technician cordial, professional and competent but he was considerate in covering his work shoes showing respect for the cleanliness of my home. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received from Mr. Handyman. They were quick, affordable, and every single one of their staff members were polite. The bill came out nearly 40% cheaper than the estimate because they allowed me to buy my own materials and Breon did an amazing job replacing flashing in under 30 minutes and Miss Cherie was kind, called me back and even followed up. I would highly recommend using Mr. Handyman!

Very happy with the services provided. The tech Brion did a great job and the final price was same as estimate. Except for the other item I added to repair after he was finished so quickly with original order. The surprising thing is he showed up in heavy rain. Had that happen maybe once. I have been looking for a reliable handyman service. Definitely will be using Mr Handyman again

First time we utilized Mr. Handyman of Newport News. We have a leaking hot water pipe that supplies our kitchen sink. Kelly R. was very efficient and very good

Great service but the prices are challenging! Please put your nickel’s and dimes aside and be prepared! I don’t know if they have a price standard chart that they go by or make up the price willy-nilly! Nevertheless, the work is top notch so far. I was satisfied so I scheduled another project later this month! I got a couple of weeks to save!

The initial work i received was not necessarily what I was expecting nor would I consider it quality workmanship; however, they took the time to make things right.

Brian Chandler did an Excellent job of recaulking both of my bathrooms. He was very professional and friendly and knew what he was doing! He took the time to do the job right! My bathrooms look brand new again and I would recommend Chandler to anyone for repair jobs they have around their house! I will definitely be calling Mr. Handyman again for other projects around my house and will request Chandler to be the one to handle the jobs!!

Back door of our house wouldn't close anymore. Door was the original from the late 70s. Joshua P did an awesome job replacing it with a new one. He was very knowledgeable and always explained various options throughout the process. Now the new door sits level in the hole of the old one and closes like a dream! I cannot express how impressed I am with the job well done.

Had a great experience with Joshua! They were very professional and courteous told me prices before they started the job. If there was additional prices, they told me those as well before they continued each job would recommend to family and friends. The only issue I had and this was after the fact after he left, I did have one showerhead that didn’t work. It worked before they came, but didn’t work after so I’m just gonna replace it and the light fixture was working before but now it just flickers, but other than that, they were great

My experience with Mr. Handyman is probably a bit different than most. I got a migraine while driving to work Friday, December 20, 2024. So I pulled off the interstate into a Burger King parking lot to take my meds and let the headache dissipate.
Once I felt better, I tried turning my car back on and the battery was dead. Because it’s a manual transmission, I attempted to pull it out to push it back in while popping the clutch to start it. Well, maybe I was on a slant, because pulling my car out of the spot was much easier than pushing it back in.

At least 10 cars went through that drive-thru while I struggled in the middle of the parking lot try to push my car and no one stopped to help…except Anthony in his Mr. Handyman truck!

Normally, I have jumper cables in my car, but of course, the one time they were in my husband’s truck. …which was in the shop from a recent accident.

Anthony said he had to run to Home Depot, which was thankfully practically across the street to pick up some supplies anyway and would get some jumper cables while he was there.

This kind, wonderful man did just that! He came back maybe 20 minutes later, gave my car a jump, and it started right up!
I was able to get to a nearby Advance Auto Parts, test it, ☠️, get a new battery AND some jumper cables!

Moral of the story: If you want to work with a company who has legitimately kind, helpful, “handy” people working for them, call Mr. Handyman - and ask for Anthony.

Also, we have a oldddd house that’s going on 100-years-old. We’re always in need of handy work of some kind! And I know exactly who we’re gonna call!

I had Anthony C come out and help me with my drywall and my roof. He was such a great help and would love to have him as my technician everytime I put a job in with Mr handyman.

Joshua was helpful and friendly. He installed a short, sturdy stair railing that I can lean my weight on without worrying. My arthritis thanks him. He also patched a bad spot on my front porch railing so that I don't need to replace the whole thing. Thanks!

I had Handyman come out to clean my gutters. My technician was Anthony and he was AMAZING!! My appointment was initially scheduled at the end of the week. Anthony was able to come out sooner. The work Anthony did was great my gutters are nice and clean. He was very thorough with his work and very friendly. I am so happy to know that I have Handyman to call when I need repairs done. Joshua P. Can't and did some tasks for me, from replacing a door on my pantry, replacing wood that was rotting on my house and fixing a door that leaks when it rains. He was here several days and did a great job. He arrived in time, completed the work to my satisfaction and was very professional and friendly. I really appreciated his help.
