I hired MIL-SPEC Landscaping for a landscaping project at my home, and couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, Brian and Kristy were professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. Kristy and Brian did a wonderful job cleaning up our front plant bed after the winter freeze. We lost a few plants but Kristy was able to rehabilitate or replace them with much better options. I contacted Brian because I was new in Clarksville (due to the Army) and I was starting a landscaping business. I was hesitant to contact another business owner because I was expecting someone that was too busy to give me any of their time for advice or mentorship for this region. I couldn’t have been more wrong when I emailed Brian.

Although Brian is always busy and swamped with work, he has always made time to give me a call or text. He has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful with any questions I’ve had. Weather it be concerning the landscaping industry in this area or business advice in general. He has encouraged me and helped my business grow.

From start to finish Milspec took care of my landscaping and vegetation needs. Being a single mom, I didn’t know who to trust with my money. Milspec went above and beyond my expectations. From the moment I met Brian and Kristy I knew I was in good hands! If your looking for a great landscaper, look no further, Milspec is the absolute best!

Brian and kristy did a phenomenal job! For years I’ve broken my back installing mulch. Milspec educated me on why I should go with something with less maintenance! I absolutely love my Mexican beach pebble and flowers they planted. After my mom passed my husband planted a rose bush as she loved yellow roses.. two years later it was overgrown and looking crazy. I didn’t even ask them to touch it but they went above and beyond to make it look beautiful. I couldn't imagine using any one else!

100% recommended MIL-SPEC. Here’s the “meat” behind this recommendation. The day I met Brian and Kristy, I was extremely frustrated and fed up with trying to remedy a builder created drainage nightmare. Unfortunately, our home builder graded the neighboring lot (same builder) to drain into our side yard, creating a mini pond with several inches of standing water and drowning our beautiful trees. Builder problem, yes; builder resolved, no. Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and pray you find someone who has the knowledge and commitment to help. Rescue team = MIL-SPEC arrives onto the scene. I spoke at length with this amazing husband-wife team and they agreed to take on the challenge (they interviewed me as much as I interviewed them). Within days I received a rendering along with a quote that I promptly signed so this train could get moving. Winter ☃️ arrived then COVID-19 impacted everyone and everything. We experienced delays in materials, broken items in transit, and 811 no-shows but eventually the stars aligned and work began...French drains ✅, downspouts redirected into a containment system ✅, catch basins installed ✅, and one tree replaced because it had drowned ✅. But this party was just beginning. With our yard already torn up, we decided to have rock delivered for placement under our deck. The weeds were just too much but they couldn’t withstand the 5 tons of rock ️‍♀️ that MIL-SPEC had delivered for us. At some point during the many work days/nights (yes, they work pretty late into the night sometimes), I asked Kristy about the landscaping at the front of my home which was mostly typical builder-grade plants. She helped me realize that the plants in the beds would be quite different a few years from now and that I’d absolutely hate it. Again, we asked MIL-SPEC to help remedy the situation. Kristy’s knowledge of plants, her creativity and an uncanny ability to see landscaping at maturity convinced me we had to make a change. She created a little paradise for butterflies and quite the attractive landscaping for us as well...curb appeal next level ! From the rendering to the real deal...she nailed it. Brian and Kristy handled the original and two out-of-scope projects with absolute professionalism. The final pieces of the puzzle included grading and sod installation completed by a local company MIL-SPEC recommended but the last piece was MIL-SPEC planting 3 beautiful hydrangea trees and a wonderful weeping snow fountain tree !

What you should have: You should have patience and be realistic about expectations. Our project took well over a year⏳—reminder of those material delays, weather, COVID, etc…(yes, we were frustrated at times) but it was worth the wait because everything they did is absolutely on point. If you have a timeline in mind, be sure to communicate that information up front so MIL-SPEC can determine if they can meet your requirements. As a hubby/wife team...like most people, they have a life outside of work and things happen that get in the way, like weather. Weather gets in the way A LOT.

What you will receive: Two military veterans who are capable, meticulous, committed, energetic, creative, humble and proud. They are a husband and wife serving this community here in Clarksville, beautifying and fixing problems one property at a time. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you may even see their girls working alongside them! And if you’re even luckier , they’ll shift categories from landscapers to friends.

When I contacted Mil-Spec I was really just hoping to put a long basic row of evergreens along the border of my yard. Kristy and Brian were so much better than that. They make a fantastic business team and they both truly make you feel like you're working with friends. Kristy has a wealth of knowledge and artistic vision and was able to visualize multiple options for our space. She took into consideration our needs as well as optimal conditions for the plants and how the landscape would look in the future. Brian and Kristy were professional and great at communicating throughout the process. While putting the plants in the ground they were mindful of our space and efficient. I also appreciated their detailed invoices and simple payment system. We love the new trees and plants and will definitely turn to Mil-Spec Landscaping for future needs. Kristy and Brian were AMAZING! They listened to everything that I wanted and DELIVERED. I was very particular about what colors I did and did not want and they went the extra mile (literally went to the nursery repeatedly until the tree I wanted was delivered) to plant what I wanted. We hired Mil-Spec Landscaping to create natural privacy between our house and our neighbors backyard. We also had them replace the “builder-grade” flower bed in the front of our home. They transformed our lackluster yard given a modest budget. We got estimates from two other local companies and Mil-Spec prices were by far the best. Hands down one of the most professional and personable companies I have ever worked with! We moved out of state and had renters in our home which is now on the market. They initially did a landscaping overhaul and spruced up our lawn. In the process they identified many issues we never would have even known about— cleaning up bag worms on our trees, dealing with hornets nests, and notifying us of any issues they saw with the gutters. They always respond quickly, and provide honest and reasonable prices. I give my highest recommendation!

From the very first time we met them, within about 2 minutes we know they were the ones to go with. Kristy and MIL-SPEC Lawn Care went above and beyond to help me take care of some unexpected landscaping needs while I was out of town. I was so thankful to have a trustworthy company handling everything. Process was seamless.

When we decided to completely redo the landscaping around our house, we started the search for a landscaper. While driving around town one day, we saw their trailer with their logo and number. We checked out their website and put in a request for a quote on their website that night. They were very prompt in responding and from that moment, they became our partners in the process.
