Had water pouring into the basement and finally had enough and called Matthew's Wall Anchor. Had James come out who explained everything and quoted me pricing. Day of install Donnie and Dennis came in and did an amazing job. Ran into some issues but they handled them professionally and made it really stress free for me. Would highly recommend Matthew's Wall Anchor to everyone.

Matthews Wall Anchor installed push piers to fix our foundation issues and did an excellent job. They stuck to the schedule, and James was great — clear, detailed, and always available for questions. Highly recommend!

The team who did the work were professional and knowledgeable about what needed done. They were courteous to answering my questions. I truly can’t thank Matthews enough for correcting and reinforcing both of my bowing retaining walls with anchors, and improving my home’s drainage systems to help solve the problems that were contributing to the bowing. My home was built in the 1800s and was built into a steep hillside, so it has some complexity to it and multiple retaining walls made of block which had been bowing under the pressure of inadequate gutter drainage. I was afraid no one could help, and called a lot of places, but Matthews was by far the best choice with a timely, professional assessment and comprehensive plan that was flexible with scheduling and also considerate of my situation. I’m especially thankful to James as he took the time to thoroughly and thoughtfully answer all my questions, and whenever possible, he offered multiple different strategies to solve the problems. We worked with James at Mathew’s Wall Anchor Service to install wall anchors for our house. The service was a result of our house purchase agreement, and James came out as soon as our purchase contract was completed. He explained us about what the process was about and the procedures. The city permit process was long and during the time he kept in touch and frequently gave us updates. When it was finally the time to install, it not only rained that day but our kitchen contractor also scheduled to finish the work that same day. James and his crew came through and despite the rain and house full with other workers, they got the job done. We are very happy with the work and James’ leadership.

Matthews wall anchor came in when I bought my house a year ago and installed 7 anchors. They did an amazing job! Fast, reliable, respectful, knowledgeable. They put the yard back as it was before, wouldn’t have know they were they. Called again this year for another house and came right out and offered solutions. Amazing company, top notch. Can’t go wrong with Matthews!

Horrible company!! Please, please do not use them! We contacted Matthew’s wall anchor service for a basement room that had water leaking on the cement walls. The salesman provided us with a proposal and 3 options. The salesman stated that if it was his room that he would just get the base system and paint the walls because the system would keep the room dry. We painted the walls and the water dripped through the paint. Now the company is saying that we need a vapor barrier and should have had one installed initially. The initial cost for the vapor barrier was another $675. The salesman advised against it. He said that it was ugly and would be useless if it got punctured in any way and that the system was all we needed to have dry walls. We explained what the salesman told us and they said that the salesman(that was representing them)no longer works there. They are now stating that it will cost double what original charge for vapor barrier was. Why would they offer an option without a vapor barrier if the room would not be waterproofed without it? Why would we pay $3,270 to have the same problem that we started with? If we were told that it wouldn’t be waterproofed without the $675 which is what we are now being told by them then we would have paid it. They blame us, the salesman, but take no responsibility for the failure of their system! We are very disappointed that this company would treat their customers like this and not stand by what their salesman told us. We thought that he was the expert with the system. I would advise gluing the money to the walls for waterproofing before paying this disreputable company. Picture below is after system was installed and first rain after painting.

My grandma's old house had some anchoring issues and it was resulting in some problems. The team came out and gave me a quote, explained the issues, and did an excellent job. They were much more user friendly, honest, and competitive than Baker's, who also looked at it. I'd highly recommend Matthew's Wall Anchor!

Had them come to pier a foundation outside and in basement was told pre work 3 days first day about 7 hours work second day 5 hours and gone 22,000 left all the large mounds of dirt everywhere they dug out piled up when done didn’t even fill holes back in said the rain would do it so my 66 year old husband willl finish the labor I guess do NOT RECOMMEND ALSO RUDE AGAIN 12 -13 hours work 3 guys 22,000 couldn’t even fill the holes back in Just left done

They came out to our home and give us estimate for French drains and a sub pump. We signed it before they even left the house. Weeks go by, I have tried calling them to get them rolling. last week I was told by their customer service representative. They are not doing any work on your house. I said, oh why not?
Kelly said there are issues with your walls and foundation… I said, Oh?!? That news to us… She said I will have a manager or project manager call you back. I waited over a week. Not one call from a manager or project manager.

They are not doing the job because they are concerned about the walls and the foundation. I understand there could be some problems. But they didn’t come back out and confirm their concerns. They just ghosted us. I spoke with the project manager John this morning who told me to go to another company. When I asked him what are my solutions here I need this done. Who tells a customer go find your solution with another company. Because we are not going to do anything…

I don’t know how companies like this z can claim they are the solutions to all wall problems and can fixed any wall and foundation issues you have We guarantee it. But yet I apparently have issues they don’t have time for or can’t handled… What a waste of time these people are…

I am sad to even have to express this but as a new home buyer and being naïve to this process, I called to receive an estimate. While the woman I spoke with did not hang up the phone properly and poorly talked about me to the other employees while I had to listen on the line. I won't share her name but what a disgrace to represent this company. What happened to kindness in this world? I would never recommend a company that is not sincere to their customers.

I called Matthews wall Ancor service about a Basement wall slightly bowed less than a half inch and they told me it was A simple job Quoted me 13k for everything told me they would write up a proposal to sign and send it over. I sign the proposal and contacted them to Finalize everything and they told me before it was “ officially approved “ a “ Project manager” would be out to look everything over and they assured me Not to worry, it was just protocol And the price wouldn’t change. Go figure the The project manager came out and told me that it would cost double possibly even Triple the amount I was quoted and had signed for on my proposal. I would not recommend calling them they lied to me and wasted 2 months of my time if they were honest from the beginning. This was costly for me and now there is a delay in getting on another company’s schedule and my basement is taking more damage every day because of Matt ‘s wall Ancor service being dishonest and writing me a completely legitimate quote and proposal Which I signed, and they not honor. Matthews wall Ancor service Is a dishonest business, and I wouldn’t recommend.

I called James from Matthews Wall Anchor & Waterproofing to find out more information about a sump pump and French drain. James was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took it one step further to figure out if the sump pump in question was installed by them to see if it was warranted and gave recommendations on what to do if not. I appreciate his fair honest opinions and would use him should I run into any other problems that the company services.

Absolutely fantastic company. Came right out and identified what could use attention and what didn’t. Didn’t try to sell me on any unnecessary repairs at all. Granted my foundation was in better shape then what I had previously thought but another company might’ve taken advantage of my concerning thoughts and suggested repairs that aren’t exactly needed right now. Thank you James for your professionalism, honesty and integrity.

Didn't actually get to use their services as desired due to scheduling 3 months out, but I had the wonderful opportunity to have appointments/inspections with James. This business is incredibly available, responsive, and has flawless follow-through when they say they will do something - sadly, almost oxymoronic qualities when dealing with contractors. James also possessed these qualities and beyond that, additionally was professional, punctual, honest, and an incredibly likable person. His lack of misleading sales tactics combined with factual advice was incredibly refreshing. James defines being an asset to a company.

The wall anchoring and waterproofing went well and basement is dry as a bone. However the work they did on our gutter drains was lackluster. Sidewalk was tore up and they laid the new piping barely three inches under the surface. This is going to cost us more money to have the piping redone so that we can actually use our sidewalks.

I just met with Max Echard to get an estimate on resolving my basement wall. I am extremely impressed with his expertise and his honesty. I had previously hired a structural engineer to guide me in the right direction, and Max confirmed almost word for word what the engineer recommended (unlike another company who advised a $50,000 solution!). Unfortunately, although the engineer referred me to Matthews, I learned from Max that they don't do this kind of work. If I find I need foundation work, Matthews is the only company I will consider. My advice is not to go with the companies who advertise on tv!

I was extremely pleased with my experience with Matthews! I was getting some small water leakage into my basement and wanted to make sure it didn't signal a bigger issue. Max was out exactly when he'd said he'd be, was extremely friendly, and was honest about my problem not being something serious. He could have taken the opportunity to scare me into a huge repair bill (and I've had other companies do this to me with other home repairs) but he didn't and he even took the time to look over my drainage system and make recommendations that can help, even though he knew it wasn't a big enough project for Matthews.

But what REALLY impressed me was the next day. I had called Matthews shortly after Max left, because I realized I'd give him some incorrect measurements related to a repair that was done prior to me purchasing the home and wanted to make sure it didn't change his recommendations at all. I honestly wasn't sure if I'd hear back, because at that point he knew he wasn't going to have a sale. But FIRST thing the next morning he called me back and reassured me that his recommendations still stood, and that as far as he could see everything was in working order. I can't express how much this impresses me. I would recommend Matthews (ask for Max!) to ANYONE having moisture or foundation issues. It is so hard to find honest people who will tell you what you actually need to pay for when it comes to home repairs, and Matthews does business right. I won't be able to use Matthews for the type of work I need done, but I would go out of my way to use them in the future if I ever needed work done, and would recommend them to my loved ones in a heartbeat.

I called them to assist with looking at a home I am purchasing to ensure the foundation was sound and no water damage. They were extremely quick to respond and were able to go same day. They did a thorough review and came back with very helpful recommendations.

Do not buy this system. I had one fail and the company does nothing to support it regardless of the warranty. They were not even interested In doing any necessary checks to prove the system has not failed. I have had multiple companies come out and physically show me the system has failed, while Mathew comes out, looks at it and says this system has not failed. You would think Mathews would be more inclined to fix the issue than to waste time and money.

I was very impressed with the knowledge and responsiveness of the representative that met with us. He was professional and answered all my questions. Unfortunately the decision to hire was not mine. I would have preferred using Matthews.

Matthews Wall anchor repaired my Foundation after years of failure. They quickly removed the needed dirt from beside the Foundation set the proper anchors and plates, and made our Foundation whole again. They scheduled the work quickly, used an experience crew, and finished the job on time. If you need Foundation services, Matthews Wall Anchor & Waterproofing does it all!

MATTHEWS is the best you can get for your money!

Had water coming in the front of my basement wall. Old owners put a trench around the perimeter of the basement to a sump pit, but water was still leaking through the wall onto the floor.

Rich came out, looked at the issue and gave me a reasonable quote for the work being completed. Said they would even remove the trench and give me more space in my basement! Work scheduled for about a month later.

I forgot the foreman and the workers names who came but they were the best. Found out I have a monolithic floor and the French drain system was not recommended. They switched course to a baseboard style system with weeping holes in the wall. Work was completed in two days professionally done and they cleaned up after themselves.

Heavy rains have passed through the region and MY BASEMENT IS BONE DRY! Thank you Matthew’s

Max with Matthew's came out to inspect some cracks on my garage floor and wall that I was concerned about. He was on time professional and, above all, honest.
He said the cracks were from settling, they weren't severe and we did not need any repairs at this time.
I appreciate that Max and this company have integrity. They do not want to just make a buck, but give an honest assessment of the situation. Thank you so much Max!

We did have another company out that I will write a not so good review. They used scare tactics and tell you need thousands of dollars in repairs. Do not use Bakers!

IF YOU HAVE WATER ISSUES IN YOUR BASEMENT, DEFINITELY ONLY USE MATTHEWS WALL ANCHOR & WATERPROOFING!!

Our son purchased a house on a quick sale and at a good price from acquaintances needing to sell quickly. He has been in the house for a year and a half and has noticed some cracks and other issues. He needs new windows and a new roof, so he had Max from Matthews Wall Anchor come out to see if the house needs attention before spending money on a roof and new windows. He lasered all the walls inside and out finding ever so slight (1/8") variances on a full wall. After the total inspection he told us he is on commission and would love to quote and sell our son, services but he had to give his house a clean bill of health and would buy his house in a second with no problem! Max also added that if another company indicates that ADAM needs ANY work at all done, they are ripping him off!!
So, for a second opinion, we called Baker's Waterproofing. They came out and the guy admitted that the laser he had was not his and that he wasn't sure how to use it. He then looked at our son's house, lasered it and said there were a lot of problems! He said they would need to remove his front porch to add piers, and more piers for a total of 26 piers! All totaled, he said it would come to $50,000 and to be quick about it because the roof could split the house in half at ANY time!!! If our son signed a contract today, he could arrange a 10% discount but only available until the end of the month which was just a few days later.
The disparity in opinions was SOOO great, that we called an independent engineering company to come and evaluate both opinions. Not surprisingly, he agreed with Matthews Wall Anchor and that the house was sound and was not in need of ANY of the services required by Baker's Waterproofing! The engineering firm (also a great reputable company) did not charge their full fee (60% discount) because of the huge difference in evaluation of the SAME house!!

SO, DO NOT FOR ANY REASON USE THE NEWLY PURCHASED BAKER'S WATERPROOFING TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE
TO DO ANYTHING!!

Max came out to look at my foundation after a sales guy from another company scared the pants off me trying to make a quick buck. He came out and gave me an honest summary of what was going on with my house and that it wasn't about to fall over and that it wasn't something that my wife and I needed to take out a second mortgage to get done, even though he was not nailing down a sale because of it. Much more honest of a sales person and definitely more trustworthy, any work I need done with my foundation I'll be going through Max with Matthews Wall Anchor.

Foundation Specialist, Max, was extremely thorough in his evaluation of our leak in the basement. He did a full assessment and tracked the possible cause through our entire house, explaining everything as he went. Really appreciate that rather than just automatically jumping to an interior drain as a solution he took the time to find the potential cause of the leak and assess the problem, recommending some other solutions we could look into first before we dropped several thousand on the drain. I never felt pressured or like he had an agenda other than to give me an honest opinion and recommendations. Matthews was not the only company who came out to evaluate the problem but was the only one to approach it from an assessment standpoint. Definitely built a foundation of trust!!

This was my 3rd bid for a foundation repair- I very much appreciate Max's honesty and transparency, and professionalism. He helped me to prioritize some other needed work (gutters, pointing etc.) that could be done to stave off and and better monitor worsening of foundation cracks, and that I could stand to wait on the project.

My wife and I have a typical Pittsburgh garage, built on a hill side and we were afraid it might be sinking. We contacted Matthews Wall Anchor & Waterproofing Services and I can't say enough good things about them. First of all, we got a call from a real human, not a series of robots/automated emails, and they were able to come out and assess rather promptly (even on a Sunday). Max was the gentleman who came out and met us. He was honest and straight to the point. When he saw our garage, he was worried he might have bad news for us, but he assessed the situation and it turned out the damage wasn't as we expected. He explained what we could do should we want to reinforce our garage, but was completely honest about the condition and said it wasn't necessary. He also took the time to explain things to us about the foundation on our house and work that he could tell had been previously done. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need and was refreshingly honest and genuine. As two women who know nothing about foundation repair, he easily could have taken advantage of us, but he didn't. Given the integrity of the business, I wouldn't hesitate to use them for all our future foundation needs. Very pleased with the service he provided.

Max Echard came out to our house for a leak in our basement. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. I am pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff and he took the time to explain it to my wife and I and go through all of our options. Highly highly recommend!

Fred Whitney and his crew did an amazing job digging out around my foundation, installing anchors, realigning my basement wall, and improving drainage, all while dealing with my no-doubt annoying questions.

Salesperson quoted us a price for securing our basement wall, plates in the yard at 16 feet. Installers said they couldn’t do what was agreed to, because of a large tree (not unexpected, but we were quoted). Cut holes in my $5000 driveway, (we did agree to, because it needed done) resurfaced 2 years ago. Asked for discount, due to damage and not doing what was quoted, gave us $300 on a $4700 job. They wanted to “patch” our asphalt with “black colored” cement. We still have to fix our driveway, and they spent 5 hours with $1000 of material, and forgot to call the county inspector. They installers were good, company sucks! You tell me, additional driveway repairs $1200

Matthew's Wall Anchor & Waterproofing has been installing our foundation repair and waterproofing products for over a decade. The staff there is as professional as anyone in the industry.

The installation team just left our home. They were a really good group of guys - very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, personable, took time to explain things nicely, and they all talked with our 3 year old about the tools and what they did a little bit. I was really impressed with them as people, and they seemed to work hard. As for the repair and materials, they seem to be of good quality. The consultation and bid were a smooth process, the pricing is very reasonable, communication from the company was professional and timely, and overall so far, it's been an easy, hassle-free process.

We had wall anchors and a pump installed a few months ago. We were pleased with the professionalism of the entire team. They were punctual, considerate, and kept us informed during the process. The MWAS rep came to my house and assessed the damage to my garage walls. Within a few minutes he told me it was beyond their capabliites, it was pretty bad. They guarantee their work for 50 YEARS and the rep (Max) told me that they would not be able to guarantee the work for that and that they would not be able to help.
I REALLY APPRECIATED this because it was honest. Other vendors had stated that they could attempt to do the work but I could see where that would go. THANK YOU Max and Mathew's Wall anchor Service.

Matthews Wall Anchor and Waterproofing repaired our front porch by installing several porch piers to stabilize the front porch and patio.

John Ott came out to write up an estimate for leveling my addition. I believed it was needed due to being mined under a year ago. Although it does not appear to be leaning, I had reason to believe it could be about an inch lower on the back side.
He explained the process to me and how they would perform it for my need and then he set up his laser level and checked both sides of the addition. We then went into the finished crawl space and he checked there. His evaluation was that there was really no drop, or very, very little if any, and wouldn't recommend any repair.
I offered to pay for the evaluation but he said the estimate was free.
I really, really appreciated his honest response and would gladly recommend them to anyone needing their services. I know I won't think twice, to contact them if I do need them in the future. Thanks John!!

We had a cracked wall in a house we were going to purchase, so we called Matthews and asked if they would assess if it was an issue that needed immediate repair. They sent Dave Foster the next afternoon. Dave was great, he explained what he was doing every step of the way. He told us that the movement of the wall was well below the point where it would be considered a problem that needed repaired. In the event it became a problem in the future, he explained how they would fix it and he gave us a quote. Dave was prompt, thorough, professional, and above all honest. We called Max to look at a new property we were purchasing as well as our current home after the new owners got an inspection. Max was able to come out on a Sunday and was very knowledgeable. Definitely trusted his expertise and felt like he was giving his honest opinion. Couldn't recommend more!

I called Matthews to assess our garage for a bowing wall. Max came out and could immediately tell that we wouldn't be able to use wall anchors to fix the issue. Even though he wouldn't be getting business, Max stayed and talked through a variety of solutions we could look into to address the problem. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to really explain what was going on. I've worked with a lot of contractors since buying a home, and his professionalism and courtesy is definitely an exception. Without a doubt, we would call and hire Max for future projects.

In long:
Can't recommend Matthews highly enough. Max Echard came out to do the initial inspection when we had questions about a bowing wall and water in the basement of our newly purchased older home. He said Matthews could fix the bow in the wall with wall anchors, but recommended trying a few fixes to address the water in the basement before doing anything drastic. He told us to check our gutters and downspouts and to adjust the grade in the backyard so water flows away from the house. He also said to keep an eye on things and make sure the water isn't coming from the boiler, windows, etc. before panicking and doing something expensive. (This good advice was given honestly and maybe at the cost of additional business as Matthews doesn't do any of these things) Max said it would be a shame to waste thousands of dollars on an internal French drain when the problem may be fixed in a less expensive way. I appreciated the honesty.

We decided to go for the wall anchors which I prefer to other options as they will actually straighten the bowing wall.

I got quotes from both Matthews and KeyStone and Matthews came in with a much better price. More importantly, they didn't push me for services I didn't need. KeyStone sent a salesman instead of an actual foundation specialist. The Keystone representative only wanted to sell me an internal French drain for 20k that would require tearing up the floors along one whole side of my house. The Keystone rep was not interested in listening to my questions and probably couldn't answer them anyway. Keystone recommended carbon fiber straps that would not straighten the wall, but would only prevent further bowing. The carbon fiber straps were more expensive than the anchors recommended by Matthews. GO WITH MATTHEWS! They will not push a project on you if you don't really need it, and they will give you a better price for what you do need.

The Mathews guys installed the anchors first thing in the morning. I really appreciated that they did their best to patch the holes they dug on the side of the house by carefully placing the grass back in place. I could barely tell the holes were dug at all. They also did a nice job patching the concrete they needed to cut on the other side.

Max Echard came out to review a crack on the outside wall of our house. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We are very please that Max didn’t sell us something we didn’t need. Highly recommend Max and Mathews Wall Anchor service.

I used Matthews a few years ago for a small wall anchor project in my basement. During that project, Max was my contact, and his communication and execution was outstanding from start to finish. Earlier this year, I had Max take a look at another project, and although we didn't connect on this one, he was extremely helpful and professional as always. I'd recommend Matthews (and specifically Max) to anyone shopping for a foundation repair project.

We have a small water issue with our basement and wasn't sure of the extent. We called Matthews to come and take a look. Max was very responsive and made an appointment for us right away. He was on time and went right to work inspecting our property. He is very knowledgeable on structure and water issues. Our issue is not major and he suggested we remedy it with grading and call him back if the issue persists. His honesty is commendable! He could have easily sold us a very expensive drainage system that may be completely unnecessary in the long run. We will address the grading and call him back if we end up needing more work. I highly recommend Matthews for any water issues. You can be certain you will be advised honestly and if repairs are recommended they are for your good and not Matthews!!

I recently contacted Matthews for an estimate regarding a damp crawl space. Max scheduled my appointment immediately and was accommodating to my schedule. When he arrived at the property, Max was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Although he was unable to service the crawl space because it was too small, he was extremely helpful and provided me with useful information. I would certainly call him for any future projects.

Great job by John Hanshaw, Cody and Ken. They did an excellent job in installing a Sump pump and a French drain in my home.. With the rains today, the system got tested. Worked perfectly. Highly recommend Matthews! Very happy with there work!

I can't say enough about my positive experience with Max today. He spent a solid 45 minutes looking all around the foundation, walls and basement of my house and explaining possibilities and scenarios. I learned a lot, and he didn't try to sell me anything at all, though he did give me pointers and a rough estimate of cost should I choose to pursue foundation repair and wall anchors. He said I likely need them but that a good structural engineer may say otherwise and to get a good eval since my house has numerous issues. I am grateful for an honest, competent, knowledgeable evaluation today. I'm no dummy, but some people will come in and try to sell you big jobs you don't need, and thank God, Russ didn't waste my time with that nonsense. Highly recommend and will definitely use Matthews if/when I need their services.

I had Matthews perform work in two different houses. Was extremely satisfied with all aspects of their work. One wall was extremely bowed and they were able to straighten it much better than I had expected. I highly recommend them for this type of work.
