Manor Park Construction recently completed a full basement and bathroom renovation for me, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Reuben, the owner, was fantastic from start to finish. He was always available to communicate, answered all my questions, and addressed any concerns with patience, professionalism and resolution. The project was completed on time, as quoted, and the quality of the work is outstanding. The attention to detail has transformed my basement into a beautiful, functional space. The original space had a couple of peculiarities—like a strange closet we wanted to get rid of—that required some brainstorming and creative thinking to figure out potential solutions for. We had some general ideas of what might work well; but Reuben, the lead, was great in talking us through the tangible options to help us settle on a plan of action—which ultimately led to a great outcome. Similarly, as the MPC team developed the project and we wanted to talk about possible adjustment in spots, Reuben and the team worked with us in a straightforward, no-nonsense way about the options, which is what I like and which I think leads to productive decision-making. In that way, I’d recommend Manor Park Construction as an effective collaborative partner to help you reach your construction goals.

Every piece of major remodeling I have had done in DC since 2012 (first on a condo, and now on a house) has been a stressful, miserable experience full of contractor drama and shoddy craftmanship - with the one shining exception of the bathroom gut job Reuben and his team did for us.

Reuben is exceptionally organized, more than any team I've worked with. After you sign the initial contract, he sends you list of items to buy so you're not running out last minute and there's no confusion between what you will buy and what his team provides. Once his team starts, they arrive when they say they will. Reuben is in contact with you the whole time, both through text and through a cool contractor app, letting you know exactly how the project is progressing, what has been done that day, and what to expect the next day. The project ran completely on time: he said three weeks, and it was done in three weeks. The workmanship was excellent.

After this project was done, we had to have our kitchen remodeled. Because we needed an architect for that project (not part of Reuben's team), we went with a different company that included an architect and a cabinet designer. The entire time, I wished I was working with Reuben instead. His systems and integrity are far above his competition. We have many other remodeling projects to complete in this old house, and I will never use anyone other than Reuben's team again!

The short version: Ruben left us with a beautifully remodeled basement that stayed within our budget!

The longer version: Ultimately, the reason I would recommend Manor Park Construction is because when things went wrong, they were fixed, and no one tried to pass the buck. It was always very clear to me that Ruben's focus was on finishing the job correctly. Our project did have numerous hiccups, small mistakes, misunderstandings, and so forth. From what I've heard, there are few basement renovations that don't! Although it was admittedly frustrating in the moment, ultimately I am glad we were working with a company that respected our concerns, admitted when they were at fault, and (most importantly) made it right in the end. I am very confident that our basement not only looks great, but that the work was done properly.

We just finished a bathroom remodel and screened in back porch with Manor Park, which was our first remodeling contractor experience. Overall we would definitely recommend them (which we’ve already been doing with our neighbors).

When the project starts Reuben likes to keep the schedule moving, which was great. He was accurate with us in the estimate for the duration of the project.

His team is excellent. Very professional, high quality work that called for some creative solutions in our old house, and kept the house very clean and workspace tidy, which was very important to us with a small toddler in the house. We’re very happy with the craftsmanship of the job.

On changes, the Reuben was flexible and helped us navigate any minor issues that popped up along the way, giving us a break on minor things and following the change order charge table in the contract for things that required more hours to remedy. He communicates regularly and consistently throughout the project with status and plans and was personally involved in the project. Very easy to reach via text or the app that he uses.

I hate dealing with contractors, but Reuben has been the exception. He did a great job listening to what I was looking for, using his experience to fill in the blanks, and executing on the job with his team. The end result is a bathroom remodel and apartment prep that looks great and was completed with about as little stress and surprises as could be. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Manor Park again or recommend them to anyone looking to make their space a little nicer.

Reuben and his team did a great job remodeling our owner's suite bathroom, building a new closet in our bedroom, installing electrical fixtures in closets around the house and doing interior paint work. I would use Manor Park Construction again in the (near) future and recommend doing business with them.

Manor Park Construction did an amazing job in resurrecting our 1917 home following a stagnant renovation due to a series of construction disasters. They transformed our leaking bathroom into a modern and luxurious retreat.

Manor Park did a great job updating our kitchen by installing new cabinets, countertops, floors, and backsplash, and doing some light painting/drywall patching and electrical work. Reuben did a great job quarterbacking it all, communicating promptly and addressing all questions/issues as they came up to stay on the timeline and budget, and went out of his way to make sure trash was dealt with and we were as inconvenienced as little as possible during the remodel. Most impressive was that when their recommended cabinet supplier completely fell through and lost our cabinets the day before they were to be delivered, Reuben worked a miracle to pull-in a different cabinet supplier that came through very fast, both averting a major delay and even eating the additional cost and labor required to build the different cabinets. Everyone on the team was a pleasure to work with, the value and professionalism could not be beat, and you could tell throughout that they wanted to be fair and ultimately make us/the customer happy with the end result. We are very pleased and are highly recommending Manor Park Construction to others.

We hired Manor Park Construction to renovate our kitchen, a bathroom, repair plaster walls, and to build two closets and a pantry. Rueben and his team did a fantastic job and we're quite pleased with the results. The work was fairly priced and completed ahead of schedule. We had a fantastic experience working with Manor Park Construction and would recommend them without hesitation. We hired them to do a full remodel of our kitchen and to renovate the outdated basement in our 1930s townhouse in DC. From the proposal through construction, they were outstanding to work with. They are local Washingtonians and have a lot of experience working in DC homes (Great to support a local small business!!!). They had excellent suggestions for designs, but were also open to our ideas.

They were really communicative during the proposal process and were willing to answer all our questions. We found the costs to be reasonable and everything was very transparent with no hidden charges.

A few unexpected issues are bound to arise when working on an old house, but they adapted, got back on track quickly, and stayed close to the expected timeline. Throughout, they were really sensitive to staying on budget and hesitant to require a change order unless absolutely necessary. Everything about the cost and timeline was fair, honest, and transparent.

Overall, the best part of working with Manor Park was their communication and willingness to satisfy. Throughout the entire project we received near daily digital updates with photos and details of the work. This allowed us to keep up with the project remotely and they answered questions via text and email without any issue. Anytime we had a question or suggestion, the team was more than willing to listen and respond. They really want to make the client happy.

We are very pleased with the final product. The quality of work, from demolition through finishing was outstanding. We would absolutely hire them again and are already thinking about the next project. If you go with Manor Park, you won't be disappointed.

Manor Park did an incredible job remodeling our basement. They took it from dingy, dark and cold to a bright, warming space that our family of four now uses on a regular basis. They added an egress window and replaced all of our HVAC, giving us more natural light and better heating/air conditioning throughout the entire house. They created a great layout which gives us plenty of storage, a full bathroom with laundry, and tons of space for the kids to play. In addition to the work they did inside, they also installed a drainage system in the back and side yard, keeping water far away from our foundation. Overall, Reuben and his team delivered. We couldn’t be happier with the remodel and feel like we doubled the size of our main living space.

Manor Park completely gutted and renovated our basement, which necessitated completely demo-ing our old basement, removing two walls, expanding the bathroom, framing, replacing drywall, replacing the flooring, and replacing the wet bar (along with lots of other finishing touches). The team arrived every day on time and worked diligently throughout the entire project. Reuben was very communicative throughout the project and was available for all questions and concerns we had. They finished on time, and were extremely detail oriented. We have worked with lots of contractors in our 84 year old home and Manor Park was by far the best in every respect. Very highly recommend. We will hire them again without a doubt.

I cannot say enough good things about Manor Park Construction! We will be hiring them for all future home remodel / improvement projects. We hired them the first time to do some water damage mitigation in the basement. The second time we hired them was for a full bathroom remodel in the basement, which included breaking up the concrete floor and repositioning drain plumbing beneath the foundation.

On both projects they were knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and reasonably priced. Throughout the entirety of both projects, Reuben clearly communicated our options, their methods, scheduling, and pricing. They showed up when they said they would every day, and ensured that daily progress was being made on the projects until they were fully complete. Reuben and his project manager, Hassan, were incredibly helpful and attentive to our questions and needs. The tile work in the bathroom is flawless and beautiful, as are the drywall, electrical, lighting, fixtures, plumbing, etc.

We hired Manor Park to remodel our bathroom. The bathroom is superb. They are professional and did a detailed job. Reuben communicates everything that is anything to us on a daily basis during the project. We will be hiring him for all our house projects.

Manor Park Construction lifted and then re-installed vinyl flooring around a newly installed plumbing fixture in our basement and also did electrical repairs. Reuben was responsive and extremely helpful in thinking out solutions for our basement, and Victor was prompt and professional in getting the work done with careful attention to detail. We had a great experience with Manor Park from start to finish. They were very responsive in answering questions, offering advice and understanding our scope of work. The estimate was fair and the end result looks great. We needed to replace an ancient window in our basement that was causing a lot of water issues. Manor Park was the only team that could replace the window, replace the panel walls, paint and even repair some pipe issues that we ran into. We are repeat customers of Manor Park Co - used them to remodel a bathroom, fix a leak in the kitchen ceiling, and a couple other things. Happy with the quality, would recommend. It was especially helpful to have someone who could get a plumber in to fix a leaky pipe, then a mold guy to mitigate, and then guys to fix the drywall and paint, all within a week.

Wonderful company to work with! They built a new carport for my driveway. Very communicative and friendly personality from all employees. They did a wonderful job and finished everything in a timely manner. They made sure everything was built to a T and made sure we were satisfied with everything before completing the job. We hired Manor Park Construction for some repairs and refreshing the kitchen and living area of our home. The technician removed our existing tile backsplash and put in new tile that we selected to update our kitchen. We also removed some lighting fixtures in our living room and installed recessed lighting. What a world of difference these two changes made to the living room and kitchen! The work was excellent and the technicians kept our home very neat. You almost couldn't tell that there was any construction after they finished. While our project was not a large one, the team was responsive and dedicated to high quality work to make sure that any concerns or details were addressed. This was our first time hiring a contractor and we really appreciated the care and time Reuben and his team took to explain the work, offer suggestions and schedule the work quickly to allow us to move in with everything completed.

This team, within days, renovated my bathroom from top to bottom under a rather restrictive timeline. During this process, every team member was extremely communicative and would ask the right questions. There weren't any issues or challenges too large for this team.
