Kiehl's Construction

Kiehl's construction does awesome work. From first contact to install, they've been very communicative and helpful and their work is awesome. 10/10 would recommend and we plan on using them for future projects as well.

I hired Kiehl’s construction to install a standing seam roof on a 20x30 garage, with fascia wrap and new gutter. The price was good (not the lowest bid I received) and his crew seemed confident with the work needed. The garage roof was already stripped and freshly sheathed with plywood, so this should have been a slam dunk. They clearly did not have the experience and attention to detail to do this job. I also don’t think they expected the homeowner to get up on the roof and check their work, which I did. It was apparent on the day of install, only one guy really knew what was going on and he was directing others so that was concerning. The guy on the ground didn’t know how to handle the metal so I had to repeatedly intervene so they wouldn’t scratch up the brand-new roofing panels. It was a ridiculous experience, and they would have butchered this roof if I hadn’t been involved. I cringe at what folks may find upon inspection of similar installs. YMMV!

Once the work was complete, here is what I found:

- Multiple places where not enough overlap on ridge and gable trim and then slopped bunch of clear caulk over it...?
- An open hole where they drilled in the wrong spot in the roofing panel and just left it..?
- After the first rain, water was getting behind BOTH gable trims and onto the brand-new roof deck
- Gutter was undersized and positioned wrong so water was overshooting. Was also missing multiple screws so was starting to sag

I called New South Metals in VA (the metal supplier) to discuss install, and they confirmed the overlap being insufficient among other details. I also learned that Chris is friends with one of the owners. Once New South learned who the contractor was, it seems like they weren’t open to discussing any more install details with me….I’ll let you draw your own conclusions there. In the end, Chris’ crew had to come back and fix the roof multiple times, eventually replacing the gable end roof panels due to improper install. They replaced most of the rake/ridge trim because they had cut it too short and there wasn’t enough overlap. The put a bigger gutter on, but its pooling water on the high end now as they ran out of slope. I sent pics to Chris but he won’t respond so I guess they won’t fix that.

We hired Kiehl’s Construction to complete a half-attic remodel into a full office space. Their quote was thousands of dollars cheaper than the big companies, the work was completed in about 2.5 weeks (we expected ~ 2 weeks for this job), and Chris was extremely communicative. The fact that I knew that I could text or call Chris when issues came up gave me a huge piece of mind. The work turned out great and we absolutely will keep using Kiehl’s in the future.

My husband and I are thrilled with how our bathroom remodel turned out. Communication and the quality of work is fantastic. Chris and his team, especially Luis, went above and beyond our expectations. They will be starting a new project in the next month, and we can’t wait to see how great it turns out. Thank you for helping my bathroom dreams come true!

Chris and his crew were AMAZING. The team that he has working with him are so professional and highly skilled in their line of work. We had our deck demolished and rebuilt another unit and it was above and beyond what I had imagined. The greatest compliment I can give them is the attention to detail when they work. Their work is clean and crisp. They pay attention to everything and always communicate with me on how and what things I want or run through their ideas or recommendations with me in advanced. I know this because they literally address every minute detail that I was going to ask and fix it before I can say anything. That tells me as a homeowner they are very detailed oriented and they take pride in their work. It gives me a sense of relief to know that my home is in good hands. And I trust them wholeheartedly. And that’s what you want to feel when you invite someone into your home. It’s a sense of trust that money can’t buy. I will only use Chris and his team because good and quality work are hard to find. Like everyone echoed in the review , they never leave a mess. Thank you Chris, Luis and everyone that worked in our house.

Their expertise was evident in their work and attention to detail was remarkable. They left my property clean and the results were outstanding. They were on time with everything. They explained everything they were doing and going to do in detail. The guys were very friendly. Everything looked great. Overall experience was wonderful. Will definitely use them again.

Highly impressed with the work that was done to remodel our deck. Keihl’s crew took 3 days to demo the deck, rebuild a larger one in its place, and put a tin roof over it. They quickly cleaned up all the trash from the project and even stayed late the third day to finish up the deck for our use over the weekend. Highly recommend!

Very Happy with our decision to have Kiehl's Construction work on a pretty big project at our home.
We were in need of some major 'reconstruction and refreshing' on our two outside porches (including the roof on one of them), along with the construction of a new handicap ramp for elderly family members that like to visit our home. We didn't want to skimp, but we also don't have money trees lining the property so cost consideration was a major factor for us.
Chris and his Team put together a very reasonable estimate with some contingency for the 'unforeseen' which was needed as we progressed through the project. All work stayed within the budget which these days IS A MIRACLE! Thank you very much for that Chris!
The Quality of construction, workmanship, professionalism and attention to detail that Juan and his crew exhibited was TOP NOTCH across the board! I even told Juan straight up that he was like an artist with the construction and woodworking...every aspect...Incredible.
The last note to make here is trustworthiness of this crew at our home. My family and myself could tell Juan and his Crew were handling our home like it was theirs and that COUNTS FOR A LOT in my book. We were comfortable having them onsite for the extended period (weather/Holiday/etc...pushed the schedule) it took to get this job done. It was a doozie, BUT IT TURNED OUT AWESOME! These porches and masterpiece ramp will probably be standing long after the house starts getting tired.

Great bunch of guys. The work is terrific! The craftmanship and quality is outstanding. They extended my small deck and added a walkway/deck to my above ground pool. We highly recommend them for all your construction needs.

Was looking for someone to build and install gables on the he front of our home. The company website said No Job Too Big or Too Small, so I reached out. Other builders failed to call me back, but not Chris! He reached out the very next day and had his master carpenter work around my schedule to provide a free quote. The whole team was highly responsive and professional. On top of that, they do amazing work! These guys will have many more projects from me and my wife!

Thank goodness I found Kiehl's Construction! The foundation in our older home was caving in and Kiehl's Construction crew did an amazing job! The team dug a new foundation and repaired the old brick with solid new blocks. Very skilled workers that knew how to do the job right. They did a top notch repair and left it so clean and new looking. They went over and beyond my expectations! They were very friendly and great at communicating. I have already asked them to do a new bath remodel. I HIGHLY recommend!

They were on time and the job was completed as promised. When they weren’t able to be there they called but they completed the job within my required time. I would call for my future needs.

Kiel construction remodeled a bathroom for us. When water damage was found they advised of it and worked up a fair price to correct. The crew lead man Luis is very knowledgeable and pays close attention to detail. If something wasn't right he would make the others tear it out and fix it. I plan to use these guys on another project I have.

Very good work! After years of using different contractors for various things, I can tell you these guys are the real deal!! They did exactly what they promised, on budget and in a timely manner. Value like that is hard to come by nowadays. If you need a project big or small done just save yourself some trouble and call Kiehl's Construction for it to get done right.

Kiehl Construction has met and over exceeded our expectations on the Roof Repair. They were fast, professional and cleaned up after themselves. They were also careful not to damage any landscape. I would recommend this company to anyone searching for an honest construction company.

Definitely recommend giving Chris at Kiehl Construction a call for your next home project. I've already had him take care of two projects for me that were done with excellent quality and good prices. I probably have 5 or 6 more projects to go so he'll be hearing from me soon.

I would and did recommend Kiehl construction to anyone. They did a great job for a affordable price. They were very timely and I was very satisfied with the quality and service. Chris and his crew were wonderful to work with.Will use them again if other projects are needed.A1 in my book.
