Best in the Reno Area! I thought removing a tree would be a hassle and expensive. I was proven so wrong and couldn't be happier about it.

I’ve used Joe Benignos tree service several times and this time was for removing two trees. They showed up on time and were quick removing the trees. Their crew left the site clean and I won’t hesitate calling them again for any of my arborist needs.

Called and Marvin came to my house within 24 hours to look at my tree. Diagnosed it gave me a treatment.

The Joe Benigno's Team did an excellent job on a large pine tree removal! They came on the scheduled day and did what was agreed to with a little extra. Cleaned up the area nicely as well! Highly recommend their services!

Wow I am impressed. They were working across the street so I went over to get a business card because we have a dead tree and one that is questionable. The appraiser was there so he came right over, gave us good news about the one that is questionable. saying more water and it might come back next year. Even moved my Japanese Maple in a big pot because the sick tree lost all of it's leaves causing the Japanese Maple to be in full sun now. The other tree he looked at was definitely dead with boar holes in it. Said he could do it today for a really good price. They cleaned up after they were done and hauled away the tree, even raking up the gravel walkway in our side yard. I am over the moon since the last place we called never returned our call and the last tree service we used was overpriced and damaged my arbor and argued with me about it. Anyway I will definitely be calling Joe Benigno's for our other tree work in the future. Since we have huge tree in front that needs to be trimmed back regularly to meet the association rules. I recommend these guys for sure!!

They brought down two broken limbs from a recent wind storm then trimmed the branches off my roof and my neighbors roof. They did exactly what l told them to do. No more, no less. They then cleaned up all the mess and left my yard looking great. Very happy with their service.

I hired Joe Benigno’s Tree Service for what I requested to be a light trim on top—just enough to open up the view of the Sierras. Unfortunately, what I got instead looked more like a bad buzz cut—random chunks missing throughout the tree, with no consistency or finesse. It looks like a very amateur job, not at all what I expected given the high price tag.

The quality of work definitely didn’t match the cost, and I would not recommend them based on my experience. However, if you do decide to go with them, I strongly suggest being extremely clear—down to the smallest detail—about what you want and what results you expect.

I called for an emergency tree service, they came out within 5 minutes. The tree fell and the crew were very efficient, worked as a team. Cleaned up very good. Only one thing, I was not informed that the stump was a separate charge. They need to be more informative. Overall good job

Had Joe Benigno’s Tree Service come and fertilize most of the trees on our five acre property. The two man crew was friendly and listened to our concerns about the owls nesting on our property. They proceeded to inject fertilizer at the base of the trees I had designated. They were very conscientious, taking the time to do the job right, but never wasting time, we were also pleased that they took care not to trample our existing flowers and landscape.
Eddie came back a couple days later to do some spray treatments, we discussed which trees to spray and decided to make a change due to the presence of the nesting owls. Again, the work was not hurried, but no time was wasted either.
I am very happy with the quality of work we received, and am looking forward to the improved growth and health of our trees.

The crew showed up on time and were very pleasant to deal with as well as respectful to us and our property! The estimate was half the cost of the other company’s and they left everything as they found it! They coordinated well with Nv Energy to drop our powerline to enable them to take down a big three-legged cottonwood in a tough to get to area. They performed the task as agreed upon very professionally, safely and efficiently.

The best tree service in Douglas County. They are fast and efficient and do a great job of clean up after they are done. Each and every one of the employees are kind and courteous.

We have relied on Joe Benogno's Tree Service for a number of years. When our backyard was decimated after the Jamuary 2022 snowfall, they came out immediately to ensure branches were removed to prevent more damage. They responded immediately this year when our neighbor needed branches removed that were hanging over their house. They are careful and always clean up thoroughly. I will not use any other tree Service.

UPDATE 03/20/25: Joe Benigno's Tree Service was recently transferred to a new owner, Justin Warren. He reached out directly and he made things right. His team came out and grinded the stump for us, at no additional charge. He was extremely nice and really understands customer service. I've changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars as a result. Based on this new interaction, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Justin for future tree needs.

I had a coupon so I figured I would try out Joe's service. We're in South Lake Tahoe so we had to wait a little while to have our tree cut down, but that was fine. Unfortunately though, they didn't finish the job...despite having a conversation with Joe about grinding the stump, they didn't do it. I was very patient and got another appointment for them to do that work. Then they came out and said they couldn't get their stump grinder down our path and we needed to cut down another tree to make room which I would need to pay for. I found another local company that did it for half the price but then after they finished, Joe said he never agreed to grind the stump in the first place and I would have to pay more for that.

Was very disappointed in the overall service after that even though most of the work was done well.

These guys do excellent work. My tree doesn't look like it has been mutilated. It was trimmed during the correct season, it was well done, and I expect the tree will look quite beautiful when it leafs out in the Spring. They do have a tendency to show up and do the job before you realize they are there but after they have a contract. They do excellent work, and get it done quickly.

We had a large tree near the end of its life that lost some limbs in one of the recent winter storms. We decided to go ahead and have it removed. Within one week of initially calling Joe Benigno Tree Service, I had a return call, a visit from Justin to look at the tree, and a return by the crew to do the work. Everything was handled professionally and I received text and email reminders for appointments. Highly recommend!

One of our trees was at risk of being damaged or taken down by the recent winds. We've used Joe Benignos tree service before, and so contacted them. I called on a Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. just expecting to leave a message. Instead,someone answered the phone, and the tree was looked at and trimmed by Monday afternoon. We will continue to use them for helping us to look after our trees.

The crew that trimmed our trees were professional and made quick work of the job! They left the yard clear of trimmings and took the time to re-hang a decoration they removed from the tree before trimming. Thank you for the great job! Derinda

I used JBs tree service in 3/20 I had to take care of a few tree services immediately so I did not get other bids. I again needed some tree service this year so I called Monster Tree company. I had much better outcome with them.

Phenomenal job!!! Very professional, experienced and meticulous. We are so happy we chose this company! After they were done removing our trees from a very challenging down hill property, they left the whole area spotless as if they were never there. A+++ job!!

Stephen Edwards is Benigno's Arboricultural Consultant. He arrived on time for a quote to remove a tree and took the time to walk around our property with us. He educated us about all of our trees and landscape plantings and the care that they require. His quote for the removal of the tree was very competitive with the other two we received. Because Stephen was so courteous and informative, we hired Benigno's to remove the tree, another tree, several junipers, trim/prune most of our trees, and treat 6 pines for pitch moth. The work was easily scheduled within the week. Stephen returned with his crew at the scheduled time and instructed them. All work (plus some that I added at the last minute) was perfectly completed by his friendly, hard working crew. We are so impressed with Stephen and his crew and highly recommend them.
