After purchasing a late 1990's home in need of some updating and "deferred maintenance" we took on a fairly major overhaul that involved two bathroom "updates," a kitchen update, flooring replacement, new windows for half the home, and a new roof. There wasn't much in the home that wasn't touched in some way. In a time filled with horror stories that projects were not being completed on time or on budget, AND when other companies were failing to even deliver the products that customers already paid for, we got exactly what we expected and we got it on time.

As with any major project, there are sometimes supply chain hiccups that can't be avoided, but we had very few, and when there were delays, they were brief and we felt like we were Taylors' first priority as soon as there was solution ready to implement. I dreaded the idea of taking on our projects at the onset, but the manner in which JRT & Sons, coordinated the tasks and managed communication during the three month process made the whole thing much more pleasant.

They recently installed a deck on my home and was a great experience! Scheduling was quick and very good communication along the entire process. The carpenters that installed the deck were friendly and accommodating to working around our herd of dogs. Would definitely recommend them for any construction needs.

Jim and his team were professional, did great work and were very respectful of our space. We love our new bathroom and are so happy with the entire process! We will definitely use them again.

This is my second experience with James R Taylor & Sons.
First experience was new window installation. Jim, the owner, showed up on time to provide my quote. Jim quoted the windows as we asked for, but offered an alternative idea for our basement window, and also provided a quote for his alternative. After discussion with my beautiful wife, we choose Jim's idea for our basement window and it turned out amazing. The rest of the window install went so well, a year later, when we decided to gut and fully remodel our kitchen, Jim and his team were at the top of our list to get a quote from. We received 3 quotes. Jim's team was the only contractor who actually came to my house to give me a quote. The other two said, send me pics and I will quote. (what a joke). Not only did James R Taylor have the best price upfront, they also provided free layout and design. The other two contractors wanted money upfront to do a layout/design before they would give me a actual hard price on a contract.
We started our project with Hannah and Luci providing multiple layouts, different designs and many product samples. With a few trips to the JRT showroom, and the help of Hannah and Luci, our project was on paper and ready to go. The contract was written exactly as I asked for, every part of the project had its own breakdown of price. I needed to keep the price down, so i wanted to take on some of the required work myself, and I could see the exact dollar amount I would save. The JRT team understood my position, and worked with my schedule, so that I could complete the work I wanted to take on. I saved a lot of money by doing things like the Demo, myself.
When it was time for the work to begin, I was introduced to my project manager Erik. Erik shows up to the job on time, explains the scope of the work to his team, and is quick to respond to text/calls for any concerns.
All of the team members that came to my house were courteous, respectful of my house, and the type of people I wasn't afraid to leave in my home alone. Erik handled the project from start to finish, which was important to me for project continuation.
We contacted JRT to start this massive project in September 2021. By the middle of November, we were gutted to the studs, ready to start our new kitchen. By the second week of February 2022, we were putting dishes in our new cabinets, ready to use our new kitchen. That was an amazing turn around. Thank You Erik and your JRT Team!
The best compliment I can give to a business is to be a return costumer and to recommend them to other people. This is my second job with JRT. When my siding is ready to be replaced, (my next Project), JRT will be my first call for a quote.

We did a complete gut and rebuild of a home on Booth Lake. They were awesome and extremely attentive in every way. You just don’t see that anymore. Jim Taylor was amazing!! Highly suggest them.

Detail orientated, careful around plants, clean up is awesome. Had the house and garage roof done in a day. Definitely will use the for future projects and recommend to others.

James R Taylor and Sons did a project for us in the fall of 2020, during the pandemic. We thought we had another remodeler lined up, but he kept putting us off. That is when we turned to James Taylor. I was amazed how quickly they got us on their calendar and how quickly they finished the project. They allowed us to do the wall demolition and some of the other parts of the project that kept us in budget. Their subcontractors were polite and reliable. Tina was helpful with tweaking my plans. I could not be happier with how my kitchen turned out and I know it was a result of their professional staff.

Many years ago my lovely wife & I looked up Taylor roofing. We love to deal with local businesses. The material, look, removal & install was very competitive. We used them. A year later they installed roof covering on Tanner-Paull American legion post 120. We had been getting nickel & dimed by other companies & since that install—close to 15 years of no worries
or cost! We also had our sliding doors replaced. The originals iced up & then thawed & dripped on the floor. The new ones- no ice, no thaw a happy wife.
We had some windows & siding repair & installed. Very professional & on time.
We just had the kitchen counter tops remodeled. A young lady named Hanna looked over the job, gave us a quote & was spot on what could be done. The job looks beautiful. Being a veteran I do appreciate what James Taylor & Sons does for our local vets.
This family run company is a benefit to our community. All the jobs we’ve had them do, they knocked out of the park. Now, November 2022, we had our tub removed & a tiled glass enclosed shower installed by Jake & Nate (two young fellows that are awesome tile installers). The project manager Erik keeps a watchful eye on the work & keeps the project moving along in a timely manner. If you want “More bang for your buck” go with this family run company. My ugly duckling of a kitchen has been transformed into an extraordinarily beautiful swan.I choose Taylor and Sons for the transformation from the very first meeting I felt I made the right choice. Every single person and crew that came in were very professional efficient courteous and respectful of my property. I was so pleased with the results I rehired them to makeover the bathroom. I called because ductwork on a commercial rooftop HVAC unit was leaking onto a drop ceiling in an office building. I spoke to representatives six times via telephone before an estimate was delivered dispite unrestricted access to the site.

On the first visit, the roofing estimator did not have a ladder to get on the roof. He said he would reschedule, but did not. After I made three more calls, the estimator visited and offered me a $30,000 price for a new 3000sq/ft roof (laid atop existing rubber). I asked about what he had seen and but he did not identify any specific problems with the existing roof. His solution did not address the leaking rooftop ductwork.

It may be that these fellas do fantastic work. There are very few commercial roofers in the area. The communication, accountability, timeliness, and depth of care so far has not been great.

James Taylor Roofing is a phenomenal Company. We presented our unique circumstances to them and their response was "no problem at all" and they delivered on their promises. We now have an awesome roof and we are thrilled. Our thanks to Ardin, Andrew, Chas, Zak and wonderful crew. Their kindness and expertise is second to none. Kudos to one and all!

They installed a new roof with a complete tear off and take down of two chimneys as well as a membrane over my sunroom roof. All was done in 7 hours start to finish! Taylor and Son's is the best in the business bar none.

I had Jim Taylor come for an estimate on a new roof for my business building. They have done some small repairs on gutters and trim on my home in the past and I was very satisfied. The price was very competitive and the product was superior. They cleaned up as they went, job was completed on schedule and on price. An inspector from the manufacturer did an inspection for warranty and everything was perfect. I would highly recommend them.
