I noticed a problem with my siding and the flashing along the fascia board so I called JAM based on some good Facebook reviews from a local town group. They came out the next day, got on the roof and pointed out the original installer did something incorrectly which caused my problem. Crew called the owner and sent him photos, they discussed the planned repair, and owner gave me a seemingly fair quote for the repair. A straightforward, honest, and reasonable family run business in New Jersey that I'll call again.

Repaired a leak by replacing an exhaust fan vent that was improperly installed by another person as well as replacing some ridge vent shingles that had nails coming through and a few other areas of concern on our roof. They showed up on time, were extremely pleasant to deal with, and the pricing was perfectly reasonable.

JAM Maintenance was hired to identify and remedy a water leak. The son of the owner, John had told me he would be providing a report and pictures of what was done and recommendations. Even gave me his cell number to send notes and pictures. I never received anything. Instead of a permanent fix, they gobbed silicone in around the gutters, as well as added a diverter to the roof. This is all in stark contrast with the work that was to be done which included cutting back the gutters, fixing the masonry, flashing, etc. John had told us they suspected that the builder did not flash the fireplace correctly, around the chimney etc. Also, in another area of the home, they recommended removing a sliding door as there is no flashing present. I called the office twice to ask for a report and update to which I received no response. Which is why I am leaving this review. If Jam would like to reach out to me and discuss this I will consider revising this review, but as of now I am very disappointed in the level of service.

Update: as per Jam response to this review, they were hired to “assess and address the water leak” they failed to do so, the house is still leaking as their solution was to try to silicone caulk. Now if the builder told them to do that and nothing else or limited them in their process in any way they can make that known or share the report freely or it can be requested more officially. Jam also had the opportunity to answer my calls or text messages but only after posting a review we finally hear something back. So we can add poor communication to this review. They also in the processes of “fixing” a leak damaged gutters on the house, John Mentioned coming back with touch up paint so they know about it.

After being in our new house a few months, we found a leak in our roof. We saw good reviews for JAM and asked John to look at our roof. He saw the problem and let us know right away that the roof looked fairly new and was likely still under warranty. We went back to the installer and found their company was unable (on three separate visits) to find the cause. They made tiny repairs and tried to pass it off as fixed. They even tried to say it was caused by bad windows. Finding them incompetent, we filed an insurance claim, had a third party adjuster confirm improper install, and we went back to JAM Maintenance and hired them for the work. JAM has been easy to work with and I feel like we finally have the repair we wanted a year ago. Thank you again for being upfront and honest and telling us the roof was likely under warranty. You didn't have to do that, we never would have known the difference. You know a business is honest when it sometimes could even mean not getting the job.

We found Jam Maintenance via google search for best roofers in Rahway. We struggled with leaks and had repairs done 2-3 times, John gave a quote for replacing full roof at the time of repair. 7 months later, we decided to move forward with replacing roof the original quote was honored. 1 day and we had a new roof!!! They cleaned up after finishing the job, the lawn around the house, sidewalk, and the debris that landed in the neighbors yard. Needed to get the garage roof looked at and see what needed to be done with leaks. Saw the truck at the top of my street at one of my neighbors, and obviously have known the company doing work in the Township. Asked them if they could take a look. Only needed some repairs, didn't need to try and push a new roof on me. They came right over and made the repairs. The guys were very nice and professional. Horrible they did my roofing witch was fine but don't ever have them do Home Improvement I had to call them back for constantly for repairs and I still have problems. They were supposed to help me with problems never did. Like I said not professional at all. I still after 2 years keep finding problems .

John scheduled my roof to be done 3 days after I called him, and they were here very early that day. His crew worked about 12 hrs a day for 3 days without stopping, since they had to remove 3 layers of shingles including the bottom layer of cedar shakes. They did a phenomenal job! JAM Maintenance just completed two jobs for us: window replacements and removing a corroded fireplace insert and galvanized chimney with roof repair. Bad customer service. Shady company will not honor warranty. Had a leak in my ceiling so I called this company the owner John Mercier told me that if he installed shingles on top of existing shingles this would stop leak. I questioned him why not remove old shingles and check wood for leaks he said no need this would take care of leak guarantee. Guess what it rained and the leak was still there. After calling several times to have this company come back there was no response they took my money and ran. Dont do business with these guys cause you will get ripped off.
