Joe and his crew did an awesome job for my sellers that had a huge structural issue as their whole house shifted so they installed wall anchors and they also had a major water issue so they installed an internal French drain. They cleaned everything up and my sellers were very happy with their work.

We are so pleased with our dry basement. After years of dampness, it's a pleasure to find it bone dry after even the heaviest of rains.

I contracted JD Waterproofing to install a new roof, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The initial sales process was smooth, and the salesman was attentive and responsive—until the contract was signed. After that, communication dropped off entirely.

Materials were delivered and left on the street for weeks before the job even started. Once the roof was removed and only a small portion of the new roof was installed, the subcontractor they hired stopped working. It took them six weeks to find another subcontractor to finish the job, leaving my home exposed during that time.

I had also contracted them for some additional work while they were on the roof, but this was either forgotten or ignored, causing further delays. When winter hit, the roof began to leak. Despite my concerns, the owner sent out the subcontractor, who claimed nothing was wrong, despite clear evidence of water leakage in the attic.

After involving my own general contractor to assess the situation and meet with the subcontractor, JD Waterproofing stopped communicating altogether. I am now left with a poorly installed roof, unresolved issues, and the likelihood that this matter will end up in court.

I cannot recommend JD Waterproofing and would advise others to proceed with caution if considering their services.

This company is all about making sure your needs are met and they're very professional and take pride in what they do. They go above and beyond for there customer's and I love that. I would recommend them to anyone and guys you won't be disappointed

There are so few companies that can be in business for 80 years, these guys have been. Water proofing is a comprehensive approach, all recommendations make a difference.

Was nervous after reading some of the reviews. Was on time and very friendly to us and seemed honest and very helpful.

Work was done properly and completed earlier than estimated. Was working in my garage today while it was raining. Heard the sump pump run 3 times and not a drop of water leaked on my garage floor. First time in years.

I always support my local businesses. They were there, and gave me estament on my property. I am glad to have hired them, They were quick fast and efficient. I will call them again IF, I have the same problem again.

Had JD Waterproofing do work on my house repair my porch replace my roof and some other little jobs. They started a month after they were supposed to,when asked not too do something they did it anyway. The owner Joseph bilianta has no customer satisfaction at all. He is also weasel and will only do half shot job my roof was replaced in 2020 it was leaking in April of this year called him he comes down tells me a lead pipe was cracked which should have been replaced when the roof was replaced. So he comes down fixes it and would you believe it roof still leaking. So I have another roofing company come down to find out what is wrong and well I need to have it replaced AGAIN. If you are JD waterproofing stay away or pay for it twice

Our job has well proven we went with the right company. We have had plenty of rain to give our system a workout. Our basement is dry!! Couldn’t be more pleased with our choice.

Recently our washer and utility sink hoses were noticed to be corroded and leaking water. We called around and though J&D had low reviews I saw that a new manager was replying to older comment about the business moving in the right direction so I decided to give them a try and I am elated that I did give them a chance. The servicemen Kenny and Austin were both funny and knowledgeable. They were able to replace the hoses with ease and there has not been any issue with leaks from our sink or washer. We are grateful at the quick response, price and efficient work J & D was able to provide in such short notice. Not only do I recommend J&D but they have gained a forever customer in me. Thank you so much !

We just bought a house that had a "lifetime transferable guarentee" for waterproofing that was just completed in late 2019. We had a ton of water pour into the basement so I called them every day for 2 weeks leaving voice-mails until the mailbox then became full. The next week I finally got someone on the line. He explained that their manager got sick and due to covid, they weren't allowed in the office until the following day. This is absolutely understandable. He was very nice and apologetic and requested I call back the same time the following day if I haven't heard from him yet. Okay, so I did that, he gave the same excuse. He couldnt get I to the office still and to yet again, call the next day. I do understand that and was not upset. I called the next day, he didn't answer and his voice mail was still full. I continued to call every day for another 2 weeks with no answer. My fiance called from a different number in hopes he could get him on the line and nothing. I finally gave up. Not sure how anyone expects to run a business this way. So that transferable warranty that was a major factor of us going as high as we did on our home is a total waste. I would not recommend this company to anyone as I now have to spend more money and labor to fix this myself due to their lies and unprofessionalism.

I will not be recommending this company to anyone. We began a basement waterproofing job with J&D Waterproofing in February 2021 and we are still waiting for the dry basement we paid for. Multiple times we have had to pay out more for further repairs that should have been included in the initial job bid. Currently we have been waiting two months to have a malfunctioning sump pump (installed by J&D) replaced. Now the pump and piping have burst and are actively flooding our already ankle-deep with water basement. Multiple calls have only been returned once and conveniently the owner is often “out of town” when you request to speak with him. The one upside is if you can get him on the phone he is very considerate and easy to speak to and gives you hope that the problems will be resolved…again, when you get him on the line. At this point, we simple want to break ties with the company and try again with someone new.

Bought a house in October 2020, came with French Drains and two Pumps from a previous home owner. Came out once to look and "fix" an issue in February. With all the heavy rain the problem was not actually "fixed" water is still coming into the basement. Contacted them end of June about the problem and left a message. Called back about a week later and was told the guy was on vacation that week and that he could come out the following Monday when he returned to work. Never got a call and never showed up. Called them a third time and talked to a gentleman who put me on the schedule for last Friday June 30th between the time of 1 and 3. Never showed up and never got a curtesy call saying they needed to reschedule (which I would have been fine with). Needless to say, I had to call another company to hopefully "fix Their problem." I would not use this company because they have the worst customer service around.

I had anchors placed in October 2020. I was told I would receive the torque wrench and directions to manage the anchors next day. No one came. I called and called. No one ever came. I have been calling every month. I have to talked to same person, who writes my name and says we will get it delivered. Nothing ever comes. Now the anchors are starting not to function. Space is starting to form between the wall and anchors. Still no one comes after my calls. Worst absolute worse. Don't use.

I had one of the free inspections and estimates done and they were fantastic. There was a scheduling error (on my part) to which I cancel and reschedule the inspection, but they were incredibly patient and were able to get me in that very same week.

Chad was my inspector, he was very thorough and explained the whole process while answering all of my questions no matter how trivial. Would definitely recommend. The staff are all 10/10!

Joe and his crew were fantastic. In fact, I can't say enough. My wife and I didn't know they also had all these extra services such as painting and handyman work. We had about 6 projects to complete with our new home and it looks beautiful! The drain in the basement they fixed is perfect and they installed plumbing with a new utility sink in the garage. Looks and functions very well. It was great to have them patch the ceilings where there was water damage and they matched it as if it never happened. Their crew was courteous and they were very professional. The reason I am leaving this review with such high regard is that I am a complainer when things are not perfect. After all the jobs were done, I found a couple minor items that needed to be addressed... basic stuff like paint on the sideboard that may have been overlooked. The owner of the company showed up the next day and not only fixed the minor issues himself, but he also helped caulk some cracks in the ceiling and floor that was not in the agreement. They went above and beyond. Here is the deal: if you are looking for a reasonable price (not the cheapest not the most expensive) you will get more than what you pay for in value with these guys. 5 Stars for sure. -Ethan

We had the waterproofing system installed in our basement about ten years ago. We we’re very pleased with the install and the system has been working great ever since. This morning we realized that our main pump wasn’t working. I called J&D and they scheduled the replacement for this afternoon. The repairman was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He was done in under an hour. I highly recommend J&D.

J and D installed an internal French drain in my basement in 2018. The work was completed quickly and efficiently took two person crew two days. Have had no issues since install and it is also worth noting they did the work for a much more reasonable price than two of their local competitors. Completely satisfied and will use again in the future.

They will tell you that they have fixed the problems with communication that are outlined in the reviews, that is not true.

The work we had done by J&D Waterproofing was a terrible experience that we are still not done dealing with 2 months later.
- The first start date (June 25th) I had to call and ask when they would be coming out, they had to call me back, they told me they would not be out that day due to PA 1 Call not coming out. They told me they would be out next Thursday - I confirmed twice that they meant 1 week (that was July 2nd and I didn't think they would start before a holiday weekend)
- The second start date (July 2nd) I called and asked when they would be out, they told me around 11am - We received a call later and was told they wouldn't start till the following Monday.
-Monday (July 6th) no show, so I called - they had an issue on a different job, will be out later or tomorrow
-Tuesday (July 7th) no show, I called, they were still having problems on another job. Was told by the sales guy that work would be completed this week.
-Wednesday (July 8th) they showed up late, worked 2-3 hours that day and then had to get more equipment.
-Thursday (July 9th) they hit my house at least 3 times this day with the digger, causing damage to my 92 year old home. worked less than 7 hours.
-Friday (July 10th) damaged the house 2 more times, worked minimal hours.
-Saturday (July 11th) came out LATE in the day and worked 2 hours
-Monday (July 13th) damaged the house again while back filling
-Tuesday (July 14th) finished back filling - still needed the surface drain installed, the mound of dirt moved and repairs done.
-Thursday (July 30th) the surface drain was installed, grass seed put down and covered with straw
-Friday (July 31st) they called us for payment, but we told them they would not receive payment till damage was fixed. they sent someone out that day to do repairs.
-Tuesday (August 4th) the disturbed area dropped (we called at least once a day with no response till Friday)
-Saturday (August 8th) they returned to fix the first "settle" of the yard - but did not bring gravel, or enough dirt
-Monday (August 10th) returned with more dirt
-Tuesday (August 11th) returned with gravel and finished the fix

Overall job took longer than anticipated. the crew damaged a lot of my property (J&D did fix the problems eventually, but only after asking for payment) the ground has "settled" twice now the first time (August 4th) was drastic, the second (August 22nd) we fixed ourselves because we aren't waiting forever for them to return our calls. The ground has "settled" a third time now (August 28th), we are trying to get them back out here to figure out what is happening.

They overcharged our credit card and told us we would see a refund and we still haven't over 2 weeks later.

They ignore phone calls, or answer and tell you they will call you back and then never do. - We still do not have our warranty paperwork that we were promised.

December 22nd 2020 update - now that I have had ample time to see how everything works - the surface drain does NOTHING it is not draining any water at all, but the footer drain is. I believe it is improperly installed and I will have to rip it out and replace it next summer.
My side yard has finally subsided an inch or 2 with a giant crack down the middle of it.
Not going to bother to try and get J&D to repair anything as they over charged my credit card, promised a refund, and never followed through on it (also have no warranty paperwork they promised).

We live in the land of the Leaky basements. J&D waterproofing will take care of all your leaky basement problems they have an outstanding system and an outstanding work ethic, professionalism and Leadership. Highly recommend J&D waterproofing.

We have a residence in Cranberry Township that is a custom build and a bit tricky to work on. There's a lot of commercial style dryvit, steel, etc. so a lot of contractors that typically service more typical homes aren't familiar with a lot of the types of materials used. We required a very specific dow corning caulking that requires an experienced skillset to have it come out looking straight and clean, properly tooling it in. We were VERY pleased with the outcome. J&D even helped us choose the colors for the caulking to best match our dryvit and colored concrete. The pace was fine with me, they waited until they had nice weather appropriate for the materials to properly set and cure. We were pleased with the work, so I had them look at a window that has leaked since we bought the place. Two other contractors we had repair it did not solve the leaking. J&D was able to resolve it, turned out it was coming from behind based on the window directly above leaking. They were the only ones that figure out the root cause and finally fixed it. We will be using J&D again on future projects.

Terrible finishing work details were brought to their attention. It took them 3 weeks to come back to job site to view the concerns. They were then an hour and a half late for their return appointment. Was told to repack cement around pipe myself, after pointing out cement that was not properly applied around drain pipe. Driveway was cut into and not properly patched and sealed around edges. Was told they did not like my approach with them when shoddy work was pointed out. All that was experienced was a very defensive attitude when poor workmanship was pointed out. Was told they would return to properly patch driveway, that was a month ago and have not returned. Very poor attitude toward their customers. I wish I would have read reviews before dealing with this company. The experiences detailed in the large number of poor reviews matched my experience. They are upbeat and friendly during the sales cycle. That quickly changes once they have their money. Very poor attitude toward the customer and concerns pointed out. As others have noted, they take advantage of people not familiar with the contracting industry.

I can only speak on my own experiences with this company, but I honestly feel like a fool trusting this company. If your time is not precious and you can spend all day time and time again waiting on "professionals" to show or not, then go with this company. My company is not on the laborers that completed the job, but with the others that work for this company and their customer service. We got the french drain installed in Novemeber after several bids and saving thousands to get this job completed. The job was supposed to start and of coarse no call no show #1 should have been my red flag and I should have called and cancelled, but against my better judgement I waited. They did eventually come out a day later...the job was installed and the installers covered furniture and cleaned up their mess. We waited to finish our gameroom after several downpours and that goodness we did. The french drain has some issues and water got into our basement. I called to have someone come and check out the basement, they said the soonest they could get someone to come out was several weeks later, so we waited and waited. Someone was supposed to come last Tuesday...guess what...NO CALL NO SHOW. so I called to check it out since my dad was waiting all day for someone. They took down my name and number and I was told they would look into it and call me back...guess what...NO CALL! So at 4:00...after waiting 2 hours for a call back, I called since they were to be open until 5. NO ANSWER. I left asking for a call first thing in the morning and guess what...NO RETURNED CALL (I am still waiting a week later) My father called to check in on things and was given a million different reasons (I was stuck ar a job, the truck broke down, something fell off the truck) ANY REPUTABLE COMPANY KNOWS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY. This company has no training on what customer service is including the receptionist. Today we were promised someone would show up at 4 to assess the situaion. AT 5:30 my father gets a call, again excuses. I am beyond agitated and annoyed that this company has no respect for my time. Again, I am sure whatever company would have installed our french drain we could have had issues after the fact. This is just letting future customers know what they are getting into. My time and money is precious and I do not appreciate how this company does business. A lesson or in my case lessons learned. I honestly don't understand how today a company with adult "professionals" can exist, you walk into a mcdonalds and get more respect that what I feel I have received dealing with JD Waterproofing. Research before you buy a service or product!!!

Do not hire these people they are very unprofessional and do not keep their word on appointments etc. They finished the work and we still had a leak we scheduled to have them come back it took them 6 weeks to get a date and they never showed up. We are still waiting for them to come resolve the issue.

Had my basement done by J & D home-improvement in November 2017. Pump stopped working a little over a month ago called and told them they had and Everly gentlema had my basement done by JD home-improvement in November 2017. Pump stopped working a little over a month ago called and told them they had an elderly gentleman come out thinking that I wanted more pumps I told him know that I called and told them my pumps were not working needed a service call. Call them again on June The 17th they told me somebody was going to be at my house between noon and 4 o’clock waited nobody showed. I called back again third time. They told me today which is June 25 that somebody was going to be at my house between 3 o’clock and 5 o’clock nobody showed . I am beyond furious I’m giving them a call tomorrow morning and they’re going to be sorry. I would not recommend them for nobody. I paid my guarantee to have them fix my pumps If they were broken or no wait longer working and nobody is showing up. All I can say is pathetic. They’re hearing from my lawyer.

Customer service is at an "ALL TIME LOW" with these people. You are their top priority until you get scheduled for the work, after that, good luck getting someone on the phone. After we took a day off work, their foreman was a NO SHOW. Called the office several times, no answer or return call...EVER. Only after completing the work will you get a call from SEVERAL people in the office multiple times per day for several consecutive
days expecting final payment. If you are a glutton for punishment and decide to use them, be SURE you know the warranties for each product before signing the contract. I was told they were both LIFETIME warranties from the salesman only to find out one doesn't have a warranty and the other costs money to renew each year. The only reason why they get 2 stars is because of the work from Mike, the Foreman. He was a hard worker who liked to hustle and kept us involved with the process. I hope you take my advice and "DO NOT" use this company.

They put in a sub. Pump and got the mold off the back wall On The 25th and 26th of. Last month was. Told they would be back in 3 days. After the cement. Dryed. Called yesterday. To see wats. Going. On. Bc they Took my stationary tubs. Pipes off to move it away from the. Wall n never put them back on. So i havent been able to wash cloths. In about a week i have a 9 month old son. Aslo when. They was. Doing the digging for the pump i stopped by. Beffor closing on the house i baught n their. Guys. Where smoking weed in my garage. I would not recommend these guys at all

J & D waterproofed our basement in 2011. They did a fantastic job! This is 2019 and we have had absolutely no problem with any water since the job was completed. We highly recommend their service. You will be completely satisfied with their system.

Well....
They started a job on a Monday, we are now going on Saturday. They showed up each day late. I understand they have drive time but they have now cancelled not once but twice this week. We have a family and a contractor on the other end of this that now is going to be scrambling and pulling his guys from multiple other jobs to do the finish work (if our basement ever gets done) because the lack of follow through and finishing a job! The work is good but the lack of time management and finishing a job is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Use a different company is all I can say!

This place is GARBAGE!! They won’t renew my warranty because they had my house information under 3 different names! They don’t notify when warranty or payment is due! I didn’t pay my yearly $25 warranty. Way to stand by your company and work. I was willing to make this right! Complete trash of an organization from ownership on down!

This review is not to bash the company it is just to give an account of events so possible future customers can choose if they would rather go with J&D or another company. It is long but might be worth the read before spending thousands. I have included a summary and then dates and details below so if you don’t want to read the whole thing you can get an overview from the summary.

Summary:
I paid J&D $7,600 to waterproof my basement and brace a wall. I originally took off 5 days from work for them to do this. Over the next several months I had to take off an additional 4 days because they sent people out to fix a problem that they didn’t take the time to understand or completely cancelled appointments while in the time window they were supposed to arrive and told me I would have to reschedule. I spent a total of at least 8 hours either trying to get a hold of someone at J&D or on phone with admins, managers and even the owner himself to get the issue resolved. I was promised that people would call me and never did. In the end it was fixed but I wanted some money off for the additional time I had to take off work. They told me that their warranty does not cover the water still coming in the basement because they did everything correctly and there is more water than is normal which isn't covered by the warranty but they were not charging me so I should be happy. They offered me a $100 gift card and told me that was generous. I didn’t accept it and now I am writing this review. If they read this and offer me more than a $100 gift card I will update the review to show that they are willing to be accountable for making someone take an additional week off work. Up to this point this have not reached back out to me.
