Hollywood Skylights did a great job replacing the old skylights on our commercial building. Mark assessed our old, leaky skylights, explained a range of options, and provided us with a proposal that fit our needs and budget. This was my first time dealing with skylights and the process was smooth and easy to follow from consultation to installation. Highly recommend!

Mark was great with communication and very reliable. He was extremely thorough with his estimates and options, and the final result was great, solid work. He even was able to match the shingles pretty seamlessly. Was very happy with his service!

There was an old skylight that needed replacing in the bathroom and we received a referral for Hollywood Skylights. It was a good choice!! Mark has been one of the easiest guys to work with. He was responsive, he showed up when he said he would and he worked with the roofer to ensure proper waterproofing. If anyone asks me for a skylight reference, I would give them Hollywood Skylights without a doubt.

Mark replaced a skylight that shattered (not sure how). The new skylight looks and works fine, and he cleaned up all the glass shards and disposed the old skylight. All for less than $1000. Highly recommend.

After finding Hollywood Skylights on a Google Search
I visited the webpage and found that a full range of services is
offered and was very happy to find that replacement of old
skylights was one of them.
I emailed a photo of our old skylights to be replaced and the
rest is history. Mark called me to ask a few questions and set
an appointment date for consultation including a price estimate
based on our product choices.
He gave us fast service and demonstrated professional excellence
from first contact to final installation and cost; which was very

I selected all 5 categories because that is the level of service I received from Mark: Good Quality, Good value, Professional, Responsive, On time. Mark is a great asset to have if you are in need of any skylight work. He replaced my old skylight that was installed back in 1987. The replacement was seamless and was completed in a timely manner on one of the hottest days in Altadena. Mark also pointed out to me that he had some paint on his truck that matched my roof color and he painted the metal flashing of the skylight for an aesthetic appeal. He did this without charge. Mark's level of integrity and service is hard to find in today's world and I will use him for all of my future skylight needs.

Mark was punctual with his appointment arrival to the minute. My elderly mother thought she needed to replace skylight in her condo because it was old and may leak. Mark climbed up on the roof, inspected the skylight and let us know that it was in perfect shape and needed nothing at all. I know nothing about skylights and would've been happy to pay him for installation to please my mom, but he was super professional and said that would be waste of money. He didn't even take any payment for inspection. I thought this was the best service call I've had in a long while. Definitely five stars recommend.

Mark replaced 3 of the original skylights in my 1960's home. He was respectful of my home interior wearing shoe covers to protect my flooring (which I did not ask him to do). He prepped the interior with plastic and removed it along with all exterior debris upon completion of the job.
Before hiring Mark, I had contacted two other companies. The first person was a roofer who did not know how to do the job. The second was a skylight company who came out, gave me a written estimate and was never heard from again.

On the day of the installation, Mark showed up on time with his assistant. They were both very friendly and hard-working. They set right to work and in no time, I had three new beautiful skylights in place. I did appreciate the effort they put into making sure each skylight was properly installed and aligned to their respective openings. I am so glad we chose Hollywood Skylights; I now have more energy efficient skylights that let the clear natural view in which has been quite satisfying the moment they left. Hollywood skylights owner Mark Goldfinger truly has the touch for customer care. He replaced an aging skylight wonderfully and quickly. After installation I realized I would’ve preferred clear glass. Amazingly, Mark was able to convince the supplier to replace the installed skylight with a new one containing clear glass. This kind of service is unheard of here in Hollywood except of course when Mark is your guy!

Great experience having my cracking skylights replaced by Mark. He did it alone as his helper wasn't available. Replaced 4 skylights efficiently in less than 3 hours including getting rid of the old ones.

Unlike several others I called for estimates, Mark assured me that my skylights were standard sized and could be replaced without any roof or construction work. He called me the day the skylights were ready from the manufacturer and installed them the next day.

When we decided it was time to replace our ancient skylight we reached out to four companies. One never called us back, one took the information and never gave us a quote and one would only communicate via a questionnaire on their website. No call back. Mark from Hollywood Skylights called within an hour of me leaving a message. He was thorough and knowledgeable, came out within a couple of days to measure, and sent a quote that same day. Well, Mark and his team could not have been better. The job was amazing. Installation was super clean. They were on time. Communication was excellent. Pricing was on point. Normally, when I read so many five-star reviews, I get skeptical. But in the case of Hollywood Skylights, every star is deserved! In fact, after working with Mark, I’d give the company six stars, if I could. My home had an old plastic dome skylight that was starting to crack. So glad I found HS to install a replacement! Mark was knowledgeable, good-humored, and honest. He clearly presented the options and tradeoffs. Just a few days later, my order arrived at the shop and a few days after that, the job was done! Then (as if on cue!) the big rains came … and I'm happy to say that our new skylight passed the ultimate test. Hollywood Skylights has my highest recommendation!

Wanted to talk to them about a skylight repair/replacement. Took me four tries over at least a week to get anyone's attention and then the owner told me by email he wasn't able to help me. Not sure what he meant -- it's not an emergency (not leaking), it's not a difficult job, we didn't talk price, I was very polite. Maybe they're going out of business?

Owner's response below makes zero sense. As I stated above, I never said it was an emergency, that I had a leak, or even that I was in all that much of a hurry. I explained the situation fully, in writing, when I first attempted to contact him via the inquiry form on their website. At the time of my first three attempted contacts, there was no rain or even any forecast of rain. LOL. So, let me add not professional to not responsive in my assessment. Or, maybe I should just say he is a very, very poor businessman. Either way, I would steer clear of this guy.

Need 2 skylights replaced. Mark was friendly and informative. Came to the house and inspected and gave us an estimate which was less expensive than the competitor. Also, Mark said our skylights were standard sized while the other company cautioned us it may have to be custom built and would be more expensive. Mark was efficient and replaced the skylights -- they look great. If you need a skylight -- Mark is the go to guy! Highly recommend!

After years of leaky skylights, we finally decided to upgrade. One of our skylights is huge and required a custom job, so we knew it was going to be pricey and difficult. We initially were going to have our roofer handle the skylights, but decided to talk to a specialist so we could learn about all the options (there are so many the roofer didn't offer). We were surprised at how hard it was to find a skylight company with good reviews and Hollywood Skylights had only 3 at the time so we were a bit nervous, but SO GLAD we went with them! We had interviewed and gotten bids from a few companies, but the second we met Mark, we knew it was the right fit. He was willing to come up with creative solutions around our large skylight -- we ended up splitting it into two so that we could make them operable and help cool down the house. It's already been so nice during this heat wave!!

I was really worried about how it would look to split our large skylight into two, but the carpentry work he did totally matches and looks as if it it was always there.

In regards to pricing, he came right in the middle of our bids. BUT the lower bid was really sketchy and I later learned was not going to do anything to code and likely would have resulted in leaks. We almost cheaped out and went with the lower bid, but the guy kept pushing us and it just felt desperate.

Hollywood Skylights provided me with a custom sized skylight to replace a vintage skylight. They did with very little hassle. I love it. It makes the room cooler and looks beautiful.

I recently had a problem with leaking skylights in my three story townhouse. I called several companies and Hollywood Skylights immediately responded to my call. They set up an appointment very quickly to come look at the problem and give me a bid. They ordered the parts and came to do the installation. They were professional, completed the job in a timely manner, and I would definitely suggest you calll them if you are in need of skylight replacements.

Wish I could actually review their work. I called a few times----got through to someone who asked that I text photos. I did that immediately and got zero response. I called again---left another message. Then I texted and asked them to simply tell me if they were interested in the project. Again no response. I called Velux and they responded right away----came out for a consult, and the project is already in the works. So much for trying to support a local business. In this day and age, Hollywood Skylights should know better.

I wanted a new skylight because my existing one was old and ugly, so I called and they came the next day. It’s a big opening (5x8) and a flat roof and I wanted something that would let lots of light in but was also an interesting design. They pitched me some options and we settled on a “hip-ridge” skylight that kind of looks like a stretched pyramid. They helped me with the paperwork my HOA needed like license proof, insurance, etc. Took 6 weeks to be custom made and they put in on in half a day. It looks great and really adds to the space. Painless experience.
