I have used HGH Mechanical for years. Chris was great! He was able to diagnose the problem within minutes. He called to order the part and found out it was still under warranty.

I hadn't had air conditioning for 3 days and it was 90° in the house when Chris came. He was the one time. Actually he was early and he did a super job. HGH installed a new AC and heating unit or a full system. My unit failed and needed to be replaced. I had 4 companies submit proposals. I selected HGH for several factors - professionalism, quality of proposal, answered all my questions and provided me with confidence they would go a great job. Also the price was very competitive.

I had to replace a heat pump in a rental unit. It required an AC unit on a third floor roof and a heat unit in the apartment. HGH gave the best proposal - I had three bids. They used the most up to date refrigerant at a better price than the other offers.
HGH sent a someone to price the job on the first day that I called. I had a proposal within 2 days. When I chose HGH, the owners came to do the measurements and make sure what would be needed for a successful installation.
One the day of the installation, two 2 man crews were prompt and professional. They removed the old units and had the new ones working within 4 hours. A job well done!

After unsatisfactory service from four other companies, and two months of inadequate heat in winter, HGH mechanical (Jim), came out and quickly identified what all the problems were and what the repair would require. The crew came the next day and actually replaced some of the duct pipes because one of them had a large rusted hole from a leaking pvc pipe that was going toward the furnace. How is it that no other HVAC company even saw this? I spent well over $2000 on unnecessary service before getting the job taken care of. Going forward, I will call HGH at the beginning. They are no nonsense and very professional with reasonable prices.

We have used HGH for years. HGH was prompt and professional helping us when we lost heat during the frigid days (7 degrees), they provided guidance and quickly replaced furnace. Workers came out the next day and diagnosed my problem immediately. They were very upfront about what was needed. I, unfortunately, needed an entire new unit. The price I was quoted seemed very fair. They even told me it’s always best to shop around for more quotes on the job. I felt comfortable enough that I didn’t even bother. They ran me through everything that was wrong with my unit.
The job took two days, they were quick and did not leave any messes. I hope I never have to use them again, but if I do, I know that job will get done quickly and correctly.

HGH just helped us install and run a gas line for a fireplace in our home - converting from wood to gas. The stone foundation was thick and they had to pass through a crawl space. I've trusted HGH for years with my HVAC needs. I live in a 1920's rowhouse in B'more City that doesn't have central air. They installed three mini-splits maybe 10 years ago. I had called several companies at the time, but I chose HGH because Manny was able to explain the difference between the vastly different estimates I received. Over the years they've been responsive and professional when I've had a problem or needed a repair. This summer I had two more mini-splits put in, and not only did the guys put up with my giant great pyrenées, but they did a great job. I highly recommend this company.

HGH has been nothing short of fantastic to work with over 20+. years!!! They installed and have professionally maintained my multiple zone HVAC system / radiant floor heating since building my house in 2004. Hands on owners who are not afraid of working alongside their crews.

I just replaced my downstairs AC unit and one of their Senior techs (Tom) was one of the ones who installed my original system. HGH is the most honest and dependable HVAC company in Maryland. Having my Summer check on my AC, Chris also checked out my water heater and noticed it was leaking. In a few days they replaced the heater. Chris saved me from a possible flood. Need any work on your HVAC systems, don’t hesitant to contact HGH Mechanical. Susan and her team will schedule the help you need.

Our system was installed by HGH in 3/23. While still under warranty, they came out to our home as the motor was vibrating loudly (we already knew what the issue was, husband told technician also). Technician tightened the bolts as my husband didn't have the tool to do it himself. He also said that it probably wasn't tightened enough by one of their installers. They issued us invoice for $132, their standard service fee which included a $75/diagnostic fee. After complaining about the diagnostic fee (guy was only here like 10 min to tightened bolts after we told him what was wrong), they credited us the $75. Now 3 months later, the motor started with same noise again and the guy came out. He was here 10 min max, said he was going to order a new motor and left. He came back out and it literally took him no more than 10 min to take out motor and pop new one in. They then send me invoice for $344 which includes another diagnostic fee of $75 for literally spending 10 min max at our home. Long story short, they took off the diagnostic fee after I complained, however, would not budge anymore on price. They said $212 was to ship back small motor and their time and paperwork to process, $212 for a warranty part to be shipped back! Ridiculous and feel we were gouged. Their system was cheaper but feel they get you on the service fees. Most companies that charge for service call, that price goes toward services performed, theirs do not. Only gave 2 stars as they were prompt with coming out. Buyer beware. We will be going elsewhere for service

Great experience with all those at HGH…scheduler, estimator, planners, and installers. Not an easy job but a super outcome. My new AC system is more quiet and cost less than the same offered by a well known company. That latter company started high, offered rebates that reduced the cost to make me believe it was a real deal…but the price was still thousands higher than HGH. HGH folks were polite, clean and careful in performing the job. They are the best!

Our furnace went up after 34 years, so we searched companies, and found HGH Mechanical. We read the reviews and liked what we saw. From the time we called, everyone was so responsive and professional. We got quotes from other companies as well, and even before we got all the quotes, we noticed none showed the true caring about the customer that HGH did. We chose HGH to do our install, they had great pricing, but even more than that, we were kept up to date on what was going on. On the install day, we had 3 trucks show up, and in no time at all, the old unit was removed, and the new one in. The crew was professional and knowledgeable, they went over everything with us, and came out the next day to do a efficiency test, and gave us the green light for this season. I would highly recommend HGH to anyone in need of heating and air services. We are absolutely customers from here on out!

I called a couple months ago for a quote on a service plan for my residential HVAC system. The lady I spoke to told me she would send someone out to check out my equipment and give me a quote. I don’t know their business so I figured this was normal. The guy comes out, this company sends me the quote and ultimately I decided to sign with another company.HGH is now telling me I owe money for that visit.
I never asked for a service call or for anyone to come to my house. I asked for a quote and that was it. I never agreed to pay for someone to come to my house. I wasn’t told there would be a cost for the guy to come out. The other 2 companies I called simply emailed me their quotes.
I explained all of this to HGH and they still contend I need to pay for the guy who came out. Not going to happen. I’m not in the habit of paying for things I didn’t order or agree to pay.
There are plenty of other companies on the area that won’t try to dupe people out of their money.

I've been using them for over twenty years they are great you can't go wrong call them if you have any issues with heating and air they will take care of you!!!!

Jeff was clearly an old pro, and the whole team were consummate professionals. On the first visit, AT&T network issues prevented full diagnostics of our mini split system, so they scheduled a second visit at no charge to do it properly. I can't recommend their friendly, knowledgeable staff highly enough.

We were looking around at many different companies to have mini splits installed in our 100 year old farmhouse to heat and cool our house. We were recommended to HGH mechanical and they came out the next day after calling. They worked with us to lay out many different options for us and explained the pros and cons of each option. They were the best price around for installing 5 mini splits and they did very professional work. The systems have been heating our house during this winter with ease without having to turn on our baseboard heat at all. Would highly recommend HGH mechanical for your HVAC needs.

My mobile home furnace control board was faulty, during the winter of all times, and he made sure to assess the situation before proceeding. He apologized for any inconvenience, which I understood, and he fixed the problem quickly. I am more than happy with the outcome. DO NOT TRUST. Absolutely the lowest quality service and respect I have ever experienced. The tech came to my parents home and used foul language with my mother when we told him that his quote for the job was completely unfair. They quoted $1,800 and we went with another company the next day for $300. They will cheat seniors out of their retirement.

Today was my first encounter with this company and I could not be happier with my experience! Mr. Jeff Brinker serviced my heating and air conditioning system, while beautifully explaining to me exactly how the system worked. I learned more from him today than I EVER had in the entire years that it's been in place? He even showed me how to change the furnace filter, which I greatly appreciated! I am for SURE going to continue with this company, and would highly recommend it to others!

I never dealt with a company as reliable and totally on top of their game as HGH. I needed a new boiler. The salesman came out the same day. His was the lowest of my three estimates. HGH Mechanical installed a Daiken 17 Series HP Indoor/Outdoor unit in our Florida room. From the planning stage to the installation, HGH did an excellent job. The line had to run the length of the house and they planned it so no electrical wires would show. Also, they determined the right size of the unit so that it cools the room in less than five minutes. They arrived on time, were friendly and professional and completed the job in a few hours. We are extremely happy with HGH Mechanical and will call them again for future projects.

*INSTALLATION and POST INSTALL:

HGH mechanical provided us excellent customer service from the start with a 92% efficient 3 ton Rheem gas furnace. From the office staff, to the mechanical installers all the way to the owners, they took the time to explain everything in detail and went "above and beyond" in every aspect of the project. The technicians were excellent and extremely knowledgeable. Upon the state inspection a gas leak was found and HGH sent a tech. to repair and resolve the issue. Next state inspection everything passed.

Update: 6 months later I was looking for a flame sensor for the Rheem furnace and the folks at Rheem suggested I contact our HVAC company. I sent two emails and also called HGH to see if I could get the part. No response from HGH other than "we'll let Manny know" but I finally found the part at Supplyhouse.com and bought two on 2/15/24. Great service and they have everything.

Recently I also noticed that the 16x25x1 filters I purchased from Amazon did not fit. I tore two in the process. I went to Home Depot and purchased a 16x25x1 HDX filter. Same problem... I did not keep the filters HGH provided me upon initial install.
I called HGH to see what the problem might be or if they can recommend a proper sized filter. The response, "get a smaller filter and I'll let Manny know". I figured I better start looking.

After some research, I find not all 16x25x1 filters have the same dimensions. The HVAC filter location that HGH installed has a very tight fit for the filter. AirFlow Products Inc out of North Carolina makes a Merv 10 16x25x1 filter with slightly smaller dimensions that fits. They do not make a Merv 8.

In summary, HGH does an excellent job on installation. I have recommended HGH to others and after today will continue to do so. The first photo shows the Airflow products proper dimension filter. The second is the home Depot 16x25x1 HDX filter after I pulled it out. It was so stuck. The metal from the filters will cut your hands, so be careful. USE GLOVES!

Update: 9-23-24
HGH Mechanical came to the house today and did a wonderful job opening up the furnace filter size. It was apparent that the HDX Home Depot filter wouldn't fit right but the wonderful HGH technician pulled the area out, hammered the area, widened the area and now all 16x25x1 filters fit! Thank you.

Recently I needed a contractor to do some duct work in my home that would be exposed when complete. Manny came out to site consulted and gave me a very good quote soon after.
It was two days work and HGH mechanics Nelson and Seth were a pleasure to have in my home. Great work professional, answered every question I had, they were very personable and did great work.

First-class performance at all levels, including sales, installation and follow-up. We solicited proposals from three firms for a whole-house heat pump system. HGH solved problems that caused others to stumble or raise their prices. For example, they procured a less expensive compressor model that a competitor said was unavailable. They also were able to avoid higher electrical installation costs. This is a family-owned and operated business that is very customer-focused.

AC Unit was replaced. The quote was reasonable and timely, my questions were answered in detail, financing was offered, the work was done well and quick, with a warranty for the labor. They even registered the AC unit manufacturer warranty for me. No complaints!

Great experience from start to finish! I have a 7 month old and our AC was not working. The house was getting hot and there was concern about it being too hot for the baby. Additionally, my wife was getting mad that I didn't know how to fix the problem. Questions I had to answer around midnight:
"Can't you just squirt some freon in it?"
"Did you reboot it?"
"Do you think a squirrel got in there and did something?"

Anyway, HGH was there ASAP and fixed the unit. It was fast and affordable; I really couldn't ask for more. They didn't try to upsell me or upcharge me for requesting urgent service.

After being a customer of 10 years, I will no longer be their customer. My furnace stopped working. It took two days for someone to come out despite the fact that I have a service contract. The technician who arrived advised me that I would be better off buying an entire new furnace ($4k) instead of replacing the part ($2,300 plus $500 install). After finding the part at the same business, the part actually cost half ($1,180) what they were charging me, and was covered under warranty ($0) and would not have only cost installation ($500). Despite repeated attempts to talk to the service manager, the phone call was passed off to an administrative person who repeated what the technician wrote. There was an employee turnover recently and service has not been the same since.
If that wasn’t enough, the technician who did my fall check made an inappropriate comment toward me. I am not impressed when someone is supposed to be checking my furnace and they are trying to be flirtatious instead. It came off as creepy.

Tom and his crew removed my 26 year old oil furnace and A/C unit and replaced with a new dual fuel ( heat pump/oil back up with Ecobee thermostat)
Crew did a great job getting everything to fit and installed a new line set that required a lot of work to run it in to the area I wanted it to reside.

Very efficient crew install new heat pump . Did an excellent job of instillation and cleaning up . It has been three days and I am very pleased with the results. Very friendly folks to deal with.

After initial confusion and questions related to the initial diagnostic visit, I received a personal response and on-site visit from the owner and a tech several times to clarify the problem . A thorough evaluation was completed. A competitive proposal was then submitted by them and I used them. Satisfied with price and scope of work.

We have been a happy HGH customer for over 15 years. Recently, we had an issue with our furnace, and HGH was there within an hour to fix the problem ... thanks Jeff!

We are back in business! Thank you HGH Mechanical, Inc. Phil came out on Tuesday and figured out the problem. The part was shipped overnight and Jake installed it today. Top notch service and everyone we have dealt with at HGH has been really genuine and friendly. Honest and trustworthy businesses are hard to come by these days!
