I used their hemp insulation in my van. Easy to work with. All natural. No problems with moisture or mildew.

I used several hempwool to insulate a 450 office space. The whole process went really well. Hempitecture was great to work with, quick with responses and worked with me to arrange shipping. The insulation is so much nicer to deal with than other insulation. The space is so well insulated that in the middle of winter I was able to heat the whole space with a small space heater. It also does a super job with reducing sound. A couple things that worked well for me when installing to add shapes - a large bread knife, a small angle grinder - a full size was just too much machine for me, and a track saw. The track saw was great for trimming down widths, and I used the bread knife or the angle grinder to cut odd shapes. Highly recommend and will use for future projects.

We have been very intentional in our materials choices for our renovation of a 120 year old farmhouse. 10/10 recommend Hempitecture insulation. In the midst of building my straw bale home, I was searching for an insulation for the stud wall sections that would align with one of the project goals: Use as many natural materials as reasonably possible.

After considerable thought, I ended up using hemp from Hempitecture. Being that straw made up the bulk of my walls, it seemed fitting to insulate the stud walls with a plant based material too. More importantly to me though was the personal health aspect. As far as man-made batt insulations go, I believe these hemp batts are one of, if not the most benign available. I like that it doesn't contain formaldehyde or other substances that off-gas. Instead, it has a pleasant and very mild natural smell. Also, unlike the standard insulations I have worked with, it did not make my eyes or skin itch. I worked with Hempitecture batts for several days and hours at a time in shorts and a short sleeve shirt with zero itch. I also like the idea of supporting farmers and that Hempitecture is always experimenting with ways to improve their product. I used one of their earlier batt insulations and the current version is nicely improved. After seeing this and touring the factory with one of the super friendly employees, I would expect a steady evolution. A last observation is the durability of Hempitecture batts. Unlike some insulations, it is robust and can be handled, pulled, and manipulated into odd places without falling apart or tearing. Yet, if you need to quickly adjust the fit around a pipe or wire, it can be torn.

All things considered, I'd give Hempitecture batts two thumbs up! Benign, good smelling, durable, part of the solution, innovative, and cost competitive.

Just finished installing Hempwool in a sauna. Loved the product. Easy to work with. I found it really easy to cut triangular pieces where the walls sloped down with the shed-style roof. It was also easy to cut around blocking that I put in the framing to support benches and interior cladding. Great customer support as well. Would give it six stars if I could.

We are thrilled with the Hempwool that was recently installed in our home in Vermont. We have Solarpower for electricity and well water, but unfortunately, are dependent on oil for heat. After installing Hempwool in the unfinished areas of the house, we expect to save on our oil usage and decrease our carbon footprint.
In addition, as a medical doctor, I am trying to decrease my family's overall toxin exposure – Hempwool is helping with that.
At this point, the walls are still open and the Hempwool is very attractive. The aesthetics are so good that we may leave the walls open in the garage area. In addition, the Hempwool has substantially decreased the echo -it really feels solid, cozy, warm, and quiet.
We had a seamless experience with Hempitecture in the delivery process. We hired a local property manager to install the Hempwool – he said it was easy to work with and did not require special training, etc. In summary-all great!

Using a renewable resource to insulate is 2X the support for our environment. Ever pick up a batt of fiberglass - I wouldn't advise it. Go ahead and grab some hemp insulation - not dusty or itchy! This is the type of building product we need today - non-toxic, no out gassing, scores LEED point to boot!

I hate fiberglass insulation but there is usually no suitable alternative for many of my projects. I was so happy to learn about Hempitecture. This product is FOR SURE the future. I get the same or better R value with a huge reduction in my carbon footprint and the use of toxic chemicals. AND I'M NOT ITCHY AT THE END OF THE DAY! They also make products suitable for soundproofing and underlayment using the same technology. I can't wait to try all of the other products they are adding.

Amazing products and great company. I purchased a pallet of 5.5" hempwool batts for my low carbon, non-toxic office remodel in 2020. Super happy with the results.

I was lucky enough win a giveaway from Hempitecture and chose the insulation product. Once installed, we could see a difference immediately in how the temperature in our home is holding steady or changing only minimally, despite the Colorado sun beating down on the roof all day. Since this attic space is not livable, we chose to install the product on the floor as opposed to the rafters. The product was easy to carry up a ladder and work with, and it was great knowing we weren’t exposing the planet or ourselves to something toxic. We look forward to having a much more easy to regulate home when the temperatures hit 90-100 degrees this summer!

Edit for summer update. It’s 99 outside but it’s 74 in the house and the air conditioning is barely running. Thanks, Hempitecture!!

Order arrived not quite as expected and obviously had me wondering about the quality. But customer service reached out immediately and explained everything in detail. The employees all had a deep understanding of their product, which shows their passion for their sustainable insulation.

We were in search of a good quality insulation for a shed-to-shop conversion at a noisy, no-kill animal shelter. The R-13 insulation from Hempitecture in 16 & 24-inch widths was puurrrrfect! No itching, lightweight and simple to install.
BONUS - practically soundproofed the building, too!!

HempWool is amazing! We felt an immediate change in how comfortable our house is. It was also really easy to install and so nice that we didn't have to worry about handling toxic materials. Our dog even took a nap on the pile of HempWool before we installed it.

Bought the hemp wool product to insulate a sauna. I wanted to use a green, sustainable product with a high R value and this fit the bill. I’m still mid-construction, but very satisfied. The product is very easy to work with. And the team at Hempitecture is super responsive to questions, etc.

We purchased PlantPanel for an acoustic floor underlayment installation. It was used to replace water damaged wood fiber insulation that was discontinued. Our installers had no problems working with the material and were even able to the use a table saw as it cut like wood. The Hempitecture team was fantastic to work with and helped us find the best solution for our desired application.

Great product to work with. I was building a sauna in a timber frame structure and wanted an insulation that didn't hold moisture. Still new, but hopefully Hempitecture insulation will work well.

We used hemp wool to replace 50-year-old fiberglass in the walls of our house. The Hemp Wool can be handled with no concerns of harm. Cutting and installing Hemp Wool is easy to do.

I purchased hemp insulation from Hempitecture two years ago. I used it for knee walls and second floor behind knee walls in a 118 year old house I'm rehabbing in Cleveland for personal use. It's great to work with. I will only use hemp bat insulation from now on.
I didn't use loose fill hemp. I've another house in WNY that needs attic insulation and will use hemp insulation after I finish rehabbing the Cleveland house. We must get home weatherization companies to offer hemp insulation.
A home weatherization contractor in WNY told me that, in the future, fiberglass insulation will "become the new asbestos." I will never use fiberglass insulation again.
It was great when my pallet of hemp insulation from Hempitecture arrived at the house. It was probably the easiest insulation to install, too. While still producing a bit of dust, it's not nearly as bad as fiberglass, or rockwool or cellulose. It is the best. And hemp bat insulation is very easy to cut with a saw.

We, enFOLD Collective, used Hempitecture's HempWool product in our art installation, Black — Still, at the M&A x Craft Contemporary Courtyard to insulate and help sound dampen the space, while utilizing all-natural, non-toxic materials. It did exactly that. The installation is quite, drowning out the noises of the very busy street it abuts, and has created the exact, contemplative environment we intended to create.

This is the best insulation material I have ever worked with! I have been building for 25 years, both traditional structures and also alternative and sustainable structures, and Hemitecture’s hemp wool batts perform better than fiberglass and rock wool in every way, from the handling to the cutting to the installing. Hemp wool batts are a far superior product in every conceivable way. If you are building a traditional stick structure and you want to use an insulation that contributes to sequestering carbon, is sustainable, renewable, has low embedded energy to manufacture, is grown and produced right here in the Pacific Northwest, and is harmless to the installer and to the user of the structure down the road, I have not yet found or used a better product than Hempitecture’s Hemp Wool Batts. Thanks for creating a product we can all be proud of.
