Help Squad

I am editing my review in response to the owners response. They came to caulk my shower over a year and i am just writing this now because it is now i am finally paying again to have it repaired. when they came the first time the tech removed water from under the tile and caulked around the shower floor where it meets the wall. He didnt say anything was unusual. We paid for the service. The caulking didnt dry and set even after 2 days so i called and only then did they explained that there was a larger issue going on because of error made during a previous renovation where water was accumulating underneath the tile. So this was not until we had paid and then called because we were unsatisfied with the job done that we were informed there was an issue. What should have happened if they knew there was a larger issue and the caulking was not going to hold and set was that they should have told us right away in the first visit. After informing us of the issue we agreed to let it dry for 5 days and they would come back and do it again. The tech came back and re did it and we paid again (not as much as the first time but they still charged an additional fee). It still did not look professional to me but at that point we had paid twice (i had not expected to pay that second time) and i was just so annoyed when he asked if it was ok i guess i said it was fine (according to the response below) i dont recall recall so i cant agree or deny. But i do know i was just over it at that point as it was clear the tech could not do a satisfactory job. Even without the underlying issue, the caulking was messy and not evenly distributed, there were several blobs that had been left on the tile as well and the corners had caulking on the tile that i needed to scrap up myself. It was not a satisfactory job but how many times can i communicate this. In any event the caulking began completely peeling off within 6 months and now at 15 months im having it redone. I wasted a lot of money with this company and as i said regardless of the underlying moisture issue there was a big communication failure, it came way too late, and the tech was not skilled as the job was messy and looked like a neighbour who does DIYs did the job.

Help Squad sent a guy day after we called. He was polite and helpful. He solved our problem and was careful to not leave any marks on the walls. we will definitely use them again

Help Squad did an excellent job on painting my walls. I will be using them again for future things I want done around the house. Jaime was professional, friendly and answered all of my questions. Linda responded to my texts and phone calls promptly and was very helpful too. It was great experience overall , it’s a weight of my shoulders knowing if something breaks or something needs to be repaired I can call Help Squad and they will take care of it.

Talieh and the entire team at HelpSquad are amazing! I have used them as a maintenance vendor for a region of 17 properties for a little over 1 year now. They repaired a 100-yr old steel window and frame. The tenant was very happy, which makes me happy. The price was much lower than I expected, especially since the architect-tenant was please -- and since the tenant told me the workers spent likely 7 hours to do the work.

They were very responsive, polite, hard working, and did an excellent job. Also they were able to solve another problem that others did not know how to address. I will have them do additional work.

I was happy with the work Jairo and Avelino did on repairing my drywall. They were on-time, quick and cleaned up after they were done. I would use this company again and recommend them to other people.

Everyone tells me that it’s impossible to manage your rental property from afar or without a property manager. Help Squad has surprised me by responding to my emergency work request with reasonable price, fast completion and excellent result, without my supervision. I am an older person, 83 and have never written a review for any business this far. I had purchased a washer dryer combo and it was installed very poorly and wouldn’t work right. After two different attempts to get it fixed I called home squad, and I had the most wonderful experience with them. They arrived on time, the workmen was very courteous and comforting with my anxiety,. These people are absolutely amazing,, I am certainly going to call them anytime I have any further problems with anything in my apartment. I’ve never been treated so politely, and they were so reassuring that it could be fixed. I am recommending them to all my friends instead of playing around with things not getting done right. I would give them the highest rating possible. They are absolutely wonderful and amazing.

The Help Squad has helped us with a number of repairs/upgrades needed around the house. The team is very professional and respectful of our house (wearing masks, booties). The quality of the work is excellent and the prices reasonable. They can also brainstorm to come up with a solution when the fix is not obvious. Very easy to communicate with telephonkcally and via text so that everyone is on the same page in terms of what needs to be done and so that they do their work efficiently. Would highly recommend.

I had Jamie come in and clean my wood cabinets in the kitchen and they look AMAZING! They actually have a shine to them! Jamie maintained a good, professional, and cheerful attitude throughout the entire cleaning time and that makes a huge difference in my book!

Jamie came to my home to remove a muphybed from the wall. I have owned 7 home and have had many repair personnel come to my home but jamie was the a 10 out of 10. Will be using this company to move me also.

This was my first experience with Help Squad and it was amazing. The technician was at my residence early and performed the work professionally, competently, and courteously. I look forward to working with Help Squad again.

Talieh and HELP SQUAD are my "go-to" handyman service. His servicemen are always cheerful and efficient, and will go to lengths to make sure the job is done well. On this occasion, I had them snake out our main line to the street, and install a new toilet. It was quite a job (I had tried to do this myself, but was unable...)

We had the wonderful Help Squad arrive on time and wearing a mask to fix our toilet. The professional plumber did an amazing job, and had all the right tools and parts and finished the job perfectly. The plumber arrived in a very cool van with his picture on the side! Such a great experience and I can’t recommend them enough. In fact we loved them so much they are going to install a new Air Conditioning system for us this week!!!

Saw the ad on a bus side and thought 'it cant be worse than the countless handymen who never show up.' Our experience was incredible - real people, local, quick, meticulous work, on time, knowledgeable... I could go on. Performed caulking, fixed faucet leak, dried out flooding, and even hung pictures. Please use them, may be too good to be true and fear they'll go away. Avelino saved the day and restored my faith in handymen!

We utilized the Handymen, Avelino and Jairo. They showed up at the exact scheduled time and work so well together. They fixed all the problems I had with smiles on their faces (I assume, anyway. They were wearing masks!)
I also had Henry for the Electrical work I needed looked at. Again, he showed up as scheduled and finished the work I needed.
They were all friendly and patient. I will definitely use them again. I now feel like I have a “friend in the business”.

These guys are on it! In an age shoddy workmanship and lackluster skills in the handyman home repair, this team shines. Painting and grout work were excellent. Attention to detail which I really admire. Highly recommend if you want the best.

Five stars isn’t enough to give this amazing company. From the moment I called, they have been professional, honest and extremely knowledgeable about everything I needed to know to begin my home repair project. Would highly recommend the handy man services of Henry and Avelino. They were both very flexible, thorough and I felt comfortable with having them in my home, as an expectant mom, and felt confident in their recommendations for work to be performed.

Excellent work. We needed our wall, floor and ceiling repaired after replacing our furnace. They were responsive, communicative and excellent at answering questions and helping us to understand both what the work would like like as well as the cost. The walls and wood flooring were perfectly matched. Highly recommend for jobs both large and small.

I needed a washer and dryer stacked (not a straightforward task with the models and space involved) and some dry wall repair. The handy men were on time, friendly and professional. They were persistent and methodical with the washer/dryer and all of their work was excellent. They completely cleaned up after themselves as well.

I initially reached out to two separate handymen through Task Rabbit. There was too much back and forth needed with them and neither ended up being able to do the work in the time frame needed. The Help Squad came to my rescue and were professional, efficient and affordable. I will definitely use them again!

The Help squad is my go to vendor that I use at a majority of the properties that I manage. They are very easy to communicate with and can complete most tasks that I need a bid or to be completed. Many of the vendors that I work with can be difficult to contact but the Help Squad is definitely not one of those. Help Squad has been one of the better contractors that I have had the pleasure of working alongside of because they make my job a lot easier and handle the job from start to finish, taking a lot off my plate when time is crucial in my industry. I would definitely recommend this vendor and almost didn’t want to leave this comment because then the help squad’s may become less available for the projects that I may need to complete for my buildings in the future.

They did a great job at a very reasonable price repairing the damaged wire caging around a vandalized HOA globe light.

My friend recommended this company to me. They did not disappoint.The things that prompt my 5 stars were, they showed up on time, introduced themselves with a smile proceeded to install a security door - which should've been "no problem" unfortunately my 1944 house needed some adjusting and they got down to the business of "making it work". The 5 stars was for -even with the extra work they had to do - they stuck to the original estimate and didn't B & M that it took longer than expected. Simply amazing,

Help Squad responded immediately and completed my long list of repairs the same day. They were neat, courteous and professional. I would definitely hire them again!

Help Squad renovated three units simultaneously at our apartment building and completed everything on time and on budget. Their attention to detail was stellar. They treat your renovation project as if it was their own home. The employees were professional and a joy to deal with. You can tell they great pride in their work. We had a number of challenges in updating the apartment units and the owner took the time to explain the pros and cons of each design decision. Easily the best contractors I've ever worked with. We plan on using them for all our properties.

I discussed the placement of an outdoor outlet with the electrician and he had excellent insights, as well as listening to my ideas. Result: perfect! Thank you.

I have been using The Help Squad for some time now and they are the MOST reliable and professional service I have come across.

Called the Help Squad as we needed some work around the house and first Henry came by to do the repair and suggested recessed lights for the kitchen. We thought it was a great idea & asked him to do the bathroom as well as the kitchen. He showed up ON TIME two days later and was done with both rooms in two days, including drywall patching & paint. A complete professional and we absolutely love how it's changed the look of our home! Then Avelino came by to replace our mirrored closed doors, pictured here, and he too showed up two days later ON TIME and was done in just over an hour! I can't say enough about these guys and would highly recommend their services to anyone who needs any work of any kind. They're the real deal & we're going to use them for more things just after the New Year. Thanks a ton guys :-)
