Grand Building & Remodeling

Price was in the middle, not the most expensive or the cheapest bid. Quality of work outstanding, especially Domingo and the gentleman he normally works with. Cons: Communication with owner could be improved. When workers will arrive and extra charges that owner knows will come up in the job but doesn’t let you know about till you are part way through the job and committed. It would be nice to know up front about the extra charges. Overall happy with the job and people. I would use again but next time slow down and really make sure I ask a lot of questions so not surprised with extra charges. I.e. what other charges will need to be paid that are common in a job like this?

Grand building gets 5 stars. I had water damage in my kitchen had to remove the bottom cabinets and granite countertops. I met with John to discuss my options I wanted my kitchen back to its original look with my cabinets matching my exiting upper cabinets. Grand building did a awesome job with my kitchen. Great pricing and world class craftsmanship. John was very professional and delivered. Thank you again John.

Called to get an estimate on a project, John was out of town which was understandable. He called a week later and we set up an appointment. 45 minutes after the appointment time came I called to see if he was even coming. Talking with him he was quite rude and really doesn’t understand customer service. I understand things happen but a call saying he would be late or asking to reschedule would be the norm. If getting a quote is this difficult and unpleasant, can’t imagine what a construction issue would lead to.

We had a small remodeling job. John Martinez at Grand Building and Remodeling was able to fit us in between larger jobs. The work was completed on schedule and looks great! We would use this company again/

I have been working with John for about 3 weeks now. We were supposed to turn our patio into a den/office. Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to unforeseen family issues. John was very understanding and refunded us our deposit. Once we are ready, we will be contacting them again. This is a wonderful company to work with.

Grand Building and Remodeling, John Martinez, did an excellent job on our building project which consisted of an additional room to our home (combo bedroom/laundry room with cabinets) and an attached single car garage. John was open to our choices, he followed up regularly, he had a clear and precise contract, and finished our project in a timely manner. He also came back after the project was completed (and paid for) to correct a small issue. We had gotten 3 estimates and Grand was in the middle cost wise but we chose Grand Building because John was the most professional. We are glad we did and we'll definitely hire Grand Building again when we have another project.

We hired Grand building and remodeling to construct a guest suite in the our back yard. They were wonderful to work with, we signed the contract and John stayed with in the budget. The crew was professional and nice. The guest house is beautiful and we are very happy with their work.

It took me a while to find John and Grand Building and Remodeling. But it was definitely worth the wait. I had over 16 bids prior to finding him to convert and extend my Carport into a garage. Either contractors would not handle the plans/permits, or they were too busy to take on the job, or low ball estimates led me to believe the work wouldn't get finished since half what others were estimating. I don't recall how I found Grand Building and Remodeling, but I did read this company was one of the best builders for garages in Arizona. John came out to give the estimate which fell within the range I anticipated and it included plans and permitting. We encountered hiccups with permitting through the city, no fault of John or Grand Builders. So the project started late. But let me tell you, each crew John sent was top knotch. All were respectful and exceptionally skilled in their trades. John kept me informed each and every step of the way and went above and beyond my expectations. Special shout out to Omar and the carpenters (I don't know their names) and the electricians. They were such a delight and you don't typically get that type of experience with this type of trade, at least in my experience. Honestly, as thrilled as I was when the project finished, it was also sad to not have these awesome people at my house because I got used to them working here every day for a few months. Final results exceeded expectations and John is honest, fair, and an absolute pro. Thank you for my beautiful garage and for taking the stress out of what easily could be a stressful project. I highly recommend John and his crews.

Grand Building provided us with a fair price quickly. Identified an issue a previous contractor/engineer had caused which resulted in trouble with the city on permit. Once Grand took control there were no further issues with the city. Communication was great. They always showed up when they said they would and were very professional. Definitely will use them again on my next project.

Estimator thought outside of the Box instead of the usual roofing & foaming contractors that were no help to me. Grand had options no else offerred. Now Saving up to pay cash.

We had a 14’ x 16’ addition put on the house this year. We put the project out for bids to three different contractors. Grand was the only contractor that gave us a detail bid proposal. We then met with the owner and after a few good suggestions from him we enter into a final contract.
We were completely satisfied with the workmanship of this project. The employees were always courteous and helpful. We were kept informed of the progress of the project. It did take a little longer than we expected, but this was due to supply issues and the Maricopa county permit process not the contractor.
He had told us up front about the county's slow process and to expect about 3 months just for that. They did everything possible to minimize any supply issues.
The room turned out just as we expected!
If you want a contractor that you can feel confident with, we suggest looking at Grand Building and Remodeling.

Grand built an entire addition on our home. They were professional & responsive. They had the worst of times to build because of material shortages & labor issues. The final product was worth the wait.

We went in and spoke with John. He showed us the beautiful Onyx samples that they had on site and he is coming to do an estimate for a bathroom renovation next week.

Grand Building built our dream home in Wittmann. The new build took about 9 months. Michelle & John were so kind to provide us with regular updates along the way and even allowed us to make adjustments to their plans which turned our dreams into a reality. Our realtor and this company made building a home easy and exciting. I have never experienced working with a team that made you feel like family. I was so grateful they invited us to the "roof on" party because we got to meet the talented & kind team that built our home. Towards the end of the build during our walk through, we only found 1 light switch that didn't work which was easily fixed. I was so impressed with the final piece. Its easy to see that the Grand Building team is a team that takes pride in their work and their level of professionalism. I HIGHLY recommend this team to all family and friends looking to build a new house or remodel their current home.

I just had my home built in Wittmann,AZ by Grand Building and Remodeling. They did an amazing job. I was able to make adjustments to the build as I wanted and they had no issue re-submitting plans. It was a pleasure doing business with them and I would recommend them to anyone.

Waiting for weeks for him to come out and take a look at our project. Then waiting over 3 weeks for a quote. Contacted them four times to get someone to call back. Finally, he had the reception call and say they are too busy and can’t even provide a quote. Total waste of time.

Very happy with Grand Building and remodeling, they did a great job on my new Garage and were terrific to work with. I've had a great number of compliments from the folks in our community and several have asked for a referral, which I'm more than happy to provide. From the Owner, to the Foreman, and to the front office they did a great job. I'll update with pictures shortly.

Grand Building & Remodeling did extensive work during the Fall of 2017, into 2018. We added a one bedroom/bath/large walk-in closet addition as well remodeled the kitchen & bathroom. In addition, we changed out all the doors/doorframes, added crown molding & larger baseboards. We are very pleased with the final product. John (owner) was very good at transforming my design dreams into reality! All of Grand Building workers, sub-contractors did exemplary work. All the workers were professional & easy to work with. We received daily updates on the next days work schedule so we could anticipate who & when there would be workers arriving. Any time we had questions/concerns, they were addressed promptly. We plan to do more remodeling in the Fall of 2018 and without a doubt will again be using Grand Building as our contractor!

My Neighbor hired John at Grand Building to build a casita in his back yard, and I must say it is beautiful.
