It was a pleasure dealing with GNS Roofing from start to finish. They were very professional, friendly and efficient from the scheduling, the shingle delivery, the management and crew, compleing the job in one day, the clean up, and most importantly, the quality of their work. I was so pleased with their work that I had them replace a shingle and metal roof on another property. I highly recommend GNS Roofing.

GNS Roofing is a 5 star all day. Performed roof work and installed a wire basket over a vent as we had wildlife living in our walls. Work was performed timely, as promised, no surprises. Thanks GNS, you guys rock!!!

We had an issue with a leaky roof last winter and called GNS Roofing. GNS was able to repair the issues to get us through the winter season. In the summer, when we decided to get a new roof, we called GNS Roofing for an estimate.
GNS' service was great. The owner provided fair pricing and walked us through every step of the project. He explained the details of how the work would be performed and gave us various options for materials. He showed us previously completed projects to make sure we understood the differences in the colors and materials. Every facet of the project was performed professionally, from stocking the job to completing the project to following up with any issues and concerns. We were so impressed with their service that we decided to contract with them for additional services, including cleaning our siding and gutter replacement. I highly recommend GNS Roofing.

GNS put on my new roof several years ago, and I couldn't be more pleased. They did a beautiful job with the original install, and have been extremely responsive regarding my requests for annual inspections, maintenance, leaf removal, etc. They usually respond within a day of my call. Jose and Ace have a team of very professional men. They never stopped moving! Extremely hard-working men who are exceptional at their trade. From the time I called to completion it was a week. Extremely satisfied.

I emailed Jose for an estimate on a new roof replacement and he responded and performed the inspection and estimate within a day. He was incredibly reasonable for the job and came in just under the two other roofing companies from whom I received estimates. One thing I appreciated about GNS was that he did not ask to see the insurance estimate as we had other companies do. The supplies were delivered two days after signing the contract and work was completed the next business day. they were timely, profession, treated our property with care, and even stopped to say hello to the kids each time we had to leave the house. The property was thoroughly cleaned up upon completion of the job and Jose checked in with us the next day and supplied all the necessary documentation and pictures needed to finalize our insurance claim for the final payment. We'd definitely hire again if the need arises.

I had GNS add attic vents a couple of years ago and this year I had to have them repair some wind damage. Both times they were prompt, courteous and professional. My roof is coming to the end of its life and I will be using GNS to re-roof when it's time.

I am very happy with the roofing job I got from GNS. They came and inspected my old roof and gave me a quote. They also mentioned improvements I could make to improve the longevity and aesthetics of the job. They matched the color and type they would use to an existing roof on a adjacent structure. Our roof is losing shingles after the last wind storms and we called GNS on a Friday to be told that they would come out Saturday morning. Saturday was a bit damp so they couldn't come and said they would be out first thing Monday. They didn't arrive and when I called later in the day I was told I someone would be out before the day was over and nobody came. It's now Wednesday and I haven't heard from them since. Can't speak for their workmanship.

GNS recently re-roofed my home. They were professional, friendly and did such a good job cleaning up afterwards. I have a deck with lots of well tended plants not to mention flowers and shrubs surrounding my house. They took special care to minimize any damage. I am very pleased with the expedience of the job as well as the cost.

We were hit by heavy storms on the 10th of August and I got a call into Jose that night for repairs. The next morning Ace arrived to inspect and repair my roof. I've now used GNS Roofing twice for weather related repairs and have always been pleased with with their workmanship and support.

It took some extra searching to find the color shingle that I wanted, but Ace checked everywhere and finally came up with the exact color. GNS did a thorough job and replaced everything on the roof. They completely cleaned up afterwards and put protection over the plants around the house. I am very pleased with the result and recommend them for replacing your roof.

GNS Roofing replaced my roof and gutters 4 years ago. It looked good. I don't know what happened but squirrels got through and started nesting in my attic. I called GNS about the holes in my roof/gutter. Ace came out, inspected and identified what needed to be done to fix it. Because it could have been an initial workmanship issue with the plywood, he said it would be covered under the warranty. About a week later, he arrived to fix the issues. He worked long and hard, never complaining, good attitude, bought the materials needed, and cleaned the area before leaving. I am so impressed with the workmanship Ace provided and the honesty and integrity of GNS standing behind their product and service. On a personal note, being an older woman, I am very impressed with Ace's demeanor, respectfulness, and work ethic. Sometimes workmen are not respectful to women; that was never the case for me. I would recommend GNS Roofing to anyone looking for the services they offer.

Called Jose to check out a possibly leaking roof. We had three other companies up on the roof trying to find and seal an intermittent leak; none were able to do so successfully. We have also had numerous shingles come off in high winds, so were concerned about the overall quality of the roof. Called GNS to come out and see what they could find. Within two hours, Jose and Ace were at our house, got up into our attic and found the sources of a couple of significant leaks which had caused damage to the plywood. The next week the crew showed up and completely replaced and upgraded our roof. They worked very hard from early morning til dark, and got it done in one day. They cleaned up very well. We were very happy with the work, and now no longer worry about the roof during heavy downpours or wind storms. We would highly recommend GNS.

Called them in the AM and they were there the same afternoon to check out my roof and give my estimates. The job was completed the very next day. Very prompt, courteous and fair pricing.

Called and set up an appointment to come look at a job. There website said they do metal roofs which when setting up an appointment they advised they no longer do metal roofs. Asked for a quote for a regular roof and they never showed up for the appointment that was scheduled. Called back and left several messages with no response.

Honestly, I wasn't looking to have my roof changed (I thought it was a project too expensive for me to afford at the time), but when I contacted GNS about cleaning out my gutters, my girlfriend convinced me to throw in a roof estimate for the heck of it. Of all the local roofing companies I had contacted, GNS was the first to call me back and set-up a date for an estimate. They came by on time, had a business proposal prepared and emailed to me within 24 hours. I was so impressed by the affordability of it and my interactions with them thus far, that I went ahead with it. They had the project completed within two days, including shingles, gutter guards (and of course cleaning) and free plywood installation. Furthermore, the manager, Jose, and his son were both very professional and courteous. 10/10 would recommend this company anytime.

Very pleased with the work this company does! I received an estimate to have my roof replaced and had the job completed within the same week. I was treated very respectfully and any questions I had were answered quickly. If I could give this company [if that's what we're going to call them] ZERO stars, I would. I called for an estimate. Spoke with Umberto. Said he would get his crew out to look and provide a quote on 5.30.2019. I called the next day to see what their thoughts were on the cost of the work to be done. He said that his 'tech' hadn't turned in his paperwork yet from the previous day, but that he would email me the quote just as soon as the tech got in to the office. 3 days later, no quote... so I called them back. I was sent to voicemail where I left a message asking Umberto to please call me back. **crickets**
I called again the next day and was again directed to voicemail... you can totally tell when calling a cell phone when someone denies your call... it's pretty text-book these days. So... I waited until this morning and tried calling Umberto again from the office phone and was AGAIN denied the call and sent to his voicemail. I then tried calling right back, but this time on the 'down-low' using my personal cell phone number instead of the business phone. Wouldn't you know it... Umberto picked right up! I inquired about my quote and what his 'techs' believed it would take to complete the job... he played 'dumb' saying 'You had an appointment with us?'... O M G... really? He started shuffling some papers on his end, scrambling his words, trying to find a suitable excuse as to why no one had come out for the estimate and why he clearly did NOT have his proverbial ducks in a row. At that point, I advised him that this is a very big red flag on how things would go when his crew came to perform this commercial job and advised him that I would take my business elsewhere.
Hey Umberto!!.... you just blew your supposed 'company' a ton of work. I am with a Property Management Group that manages 43 properties [both residential and commercial], all of which need regular maintenance and repairs on roofs & gutters. But since you didn't feel the need to get me that 1st quote or even input me on your 'techs' appointment schedule, you get this scathing review on your inabilities to properly coordinate work, let alone a very simple quote.

Unprofessional. Scheduled an estimate and didn't bother to show up or call. When I called them to see if the estimate was postponed, the call was hung up on. Demonstrates a high-level of untrustworthiness and concern for customer approval. My suggestions is to look anywhere but here for quality care. After posting here, I was bombarded by rude phone calls and emails, which I responded to by telling them we were not interested in their services. I'm guessing they must not be able to contract decent business due to their poor customer service representation. What a shame!

These guys really came through for me in a big way. Had a small leak that was causing damage fast and no other companies were returning my calls. GNS called the very next morning and was on my roof by noon. Made the repairs and they were really fair with their rates. I really appreciated their promptness and will keep their number on my refrigerator for sure!!

Jose was great, I have 2 rental units in Stephens city and with all of the rain this year each roof began to leak. Jose was behind schedule due to the fact that it rained everyday this summer. So it was going to be a month before he could replace the 2 roofs, to my amazement he went to my properties that week and temporarily patched the leaks free of charge. Once he completed the full job it looked great & the price was reasonable.

Our house is 11 years old and has no windbreak on the north side. Because we had to replace yet more tiles this year, I started taking roofing quotes in April. Of the six roofing companies I called, only 4 showed up. Of those 4, only 1 contractor told me to contact the insurance company because the roof looked bad enough for insurance to completely pay for it. Only 1 contractor suggested I put up a tarp to protect the most severely damaged places on the roof. Only 1 offered to put that same tarp up that same day. Only 1 contractor provided the highest quality materials on their written quote the first time. While we did have to wait six weeks for the roof replacement, thanks to all the rain in the spring backlogging the company, only 1 contractor tried to work around my husband's night shift schedule to minimize the time he had to take off.

From the time we accepted their quote in late May, Jose and his team at GNS Roofing have been very accommodating. Any questions I needed answered, Jose and Gloria answered via phone or email. Sometimes it was a day or two before they were answered, but that was okay. Life happens and they run a busy company. I was given calls and reminder emails about the roofing supply delivery, possible roof replacement dates, and even a call to let me know there was rain scheduled and the date would have to be pushed back. When I called a month later after finding a piece of shingle in the yard, they came right out to determine if it was a leftover piece that was missed during cleanup or one that had blown off.

You can't go wrong with GNS Roofing. You may have to wait a bit, but their service and product is worth it.

Please update your business cards, van sign, website and inform your office administrator that your company no longer service metal roof. Your company canceled/ postponed my request for service twice and I waited for nearly three weeks (which I understand that is needed when it's raining) only to find out you don't even offer services for metal roof. Please update all of your information and let your administrator know your company no longer service metal roofs so other people won't experience the frustration I experienced today.

Great job by Jose, Ace, and the entire GNS team. Gloria at the office was always available to answer questions and relay information to Jose regarding the job schedule.

Ace was able to answer any and all questions during the estimate process. He was professional and courteous and made sound recommendations.

The price was excellent as was the finished product! We have received several compliments on the roof including one from a competing company.

The crew took care to minimize disruptions during the job and to thoroughly clean up any debris.

Took a little bit of time to get new roof after initial claim, mainly weather was the factor, but overall, Jose and his crew were very professional and got the roof done in 2 days

The person who answered the phone when called was nice but miscommunicated to the work crew about the estimate requested. The guy who did the estimate Jose was hard to understand and was rude. I asked for a quote and he said we tell you verbally the price we don’t provide an actual written quote. Even though that is what was requested and needed for insurance. He stated once you pay we provide a receipt. This company through the entire process has been very sketchy and unprofessional. I wouldn’t use this company or recommend them.

They didn't show up for the initial appointment to look at our leaking roof, didn't call and didn't answer their phone. They called back a couple of days later and said they'd come the next day, which to their credit they did. The roof was too wet that day to get up there, and they said they'd come back the next day. They did not come back the next day. They did not call and they did not answer the phone. I called them again the next day, again no answer, left another message asking whether they had any intention of coming back. No call back. I gave up.
If you look at their reviews, you’ll see a bunch of five star reviews and then a decent number of one star reviews. The five star reviews are from people lucky enough to have these guys actually show up. The one star reviews are from people who got blown off, sometimes repeatedly like us. So you can decide whether to take your chances, I guess.

Very happy with the work done by GNS Roofing. From the start they were helpful by taking the extra time to tarp up a section of my roof that had some wind damage while they were inspecting the roof. From there they were very professional and willing to be onsite and available when my insurance adjuster came out to do their inspection. I would recommend Jose & Ace at GNS to anyone and would use them again in a heart beat.

It was a great experience from start to finish. The roof looked great when it was finished and was done for a great price. I did not get the opportunity to have GNS do any work because they failed to show up for their estimate appointment. I had to wait a week to get an appointment for them to give me an estimate on a roof replacement. When the scheduled time came and went without any contact, I called GNS only to find out that the roof inspector had just gotten to the office and was going to cancel because there was a 50/50 chance of rain. There was no precipitation in my area and my roof was completely dry. After informing GNS of this information, he still would not come out to inspect my roof. I had taken time off of work to wait for this appointment and there was no consideration for communicating their intent to me. I had originally contacted GNS because of their excellent reviews but while their workmanship seems to high, their communication is very poor.

I booked an appointment for the company to come give an estimate and they didn’t show or call to cancel/reschedule. When I finally did talk to them, I told them I wanted a quote for a metal roof and they said that they DO NOT install metal roofing even though their website highlights it as a product. Terrible service. Don’t waste your time.

Update: only provides good service when work is slow. I understand when a small business gets busy it may take a while to fit all the work in... that is fine. But when you give a company a large deposit for work and then can’t get a hold of anyone for a week or more and nobody calls you back... that is when it transitions from simply being busy to just not providing adequate service. I will not be doing business with GNS ever again

GNS Roofing recently replaced our roof. GNS did a great job and their price was less than other estimates we received. Jose was available to answer all my questions before, during and after and his foreman stayed on the job to ensure professional installation and clean up each day. Getting work done in Winchester involves calling multiple companies, plus multiple calls to get someone to call you back and finally, if lucky, you get the work done at some point. With my roof vent hanging from the top of my house on a Friday morning with rain due on Sunday my prospects looked bleak. I called GNS Roofing based on the positive reviews and in less than 24 hours (on a Saturday morning) my roof was fixed, including other needed repairs and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Jose and his team!

I scheduled GNS to come out to fix my roof two times. The first time they said they had written my address down wrong. The second time they didn't show up and wouldn't respond to multiple phone calls and text messages. A complete waste of my time as I had to take a day off from work.

A fantastic job at a very competitive price. I highly recommend GNS roofing to anyone in need of any services they offer. Jose and his crew worked in 90+ temps with high humidity to get the job done and they did not cut corners, everything was perfect including the clean up upon completion.

They just finished putting a new roof on my home and it is great. Moreover, Jose noticed the skylight on my porch was cracked (it happened years ago and I hadn't gotten around to fixing it); so he offered to replace it at minimal cost. He did all the work to find a new skylight and then replace it. He is absolutely great. You can not go wrong with GNS Roofing. They are excellent.

GNS company put a new roof on our house 3 years ago. Unfortunately, a leak developed about 2 weeks ago. Called Jose. He was here within the hour to inspect the roof; in the rain. He said the leak was at the exhaust pipe. He put a tarp over the problem area and said he would be back when it stopped raining. Since he wasn't certain if it was the pipe itself or the roof he called in a plumber to look at the pipe. After some testing the plumber said that the pipe was OK. So Jose did his magic and solved the problem. Since the roof was still under warranty there was no cost to us by either the plumber or Jose. I would highly recommend Jose and his company for any roofing work.

I was calling a few different roofing companies to get pricing on a minor roof repair. I was having trouble getting returned calls. I called Jose in the morning and he was out there in the afternoon checking out my roof to see what was needed. He was able to schedule the work within a couple of days. The work was performed. It was excellent and on time and the price was very competitive.

Jose and crew did an excellent job. 30 year Certainteed architectural shingles, Diamond Deck 12 mil underlayment, new collars etc. Worked us into the schedule quickly and worked the job constantly until completion over 3 days. Great clean up afterwards. Jose kept in touch constantly and the entire crew was professional and pleasant. Jose is amiable and very experienced. I don't think you'll find better.
