Foundations Home Inspection did our inspection when we first bought our home in 2018. As we prepare to now sell our home, this was one of the easiest decisions to make by going with them again. Very professional, quick communication, and quality service. Everything I would want from a business!

One of the groups recommended by my realtor as being thorough and responsive. I was impressed with their inspection completeness and follow-up advice and recommendations. I would highly recommend them from my recent experience!

I don’t know where to start. Christopher and his wife Michelle were amazing; extremely professional; knowledgeable; and very thorough. The walkthrough part of our inspect was refreshing and put us at ease by Christopher’s knowledge of the house he was able to achieve in just 1.5 hours of inspecting. The report that we received was very detailed. Do not use anyone else! Go with Foundations Home Inspection!

This family owned company was an absolute pleasure to work with. Every step from scheduling the inspection to getting the report went smoothly. The report was very thorough, the inspector went an extra step to provide his recommendations for preventative measures across the property. And they were happy to discuss the report with us afterwards to make some clarifications. The report came back without delays, and they included some extra information about recommended products and services that we could use to take care of the issues found on the property. They even included a free subscription to a HomeBinder service for our new house that we've found really useful. I highly recommend Foundations because of their professionalism and the value they provide. We scheduled our inspection on a Friday and they came out the next Monday. In a days time we then had the 90+ page inspection report in our email. We are buying from out of town so Chris took the time to speak on the phone about the findings and answered all of our questions. Christopher and Michelle are very accommodating. The response time is impeccable. I called Saturday morning and expected an answering machine. But no, I actually got to speak with Christopher! And was able to set up my inspection for Tuesday afternoon. They step by step explained everything after the inspection. Down to how to drain my water heater to extend life expectancy. They shared the importance of window well ladders. They even got me set up with a home maintenance app.I hands down WILL recommend them to anybody and everybody!!!

Christopher and Michelle are amazing! Our first communication with Michelle was a breath of relief. She is pleasant, personable, very detailed and thorough, and you can tell she truly cares about her clients and her job. She took the time to walk through all of our concerns, making sure to notate the locations where we had seen specific things of concern upon our viewing of the home. She explained the process they go through during their inspection, which is exceptionally helpful as first-time home buyers. As we're coming from overseas and could not attend the inspection in person, she reassured us that they have much experience at working with out-of-town customers and eased our concerns of not getting the opportunity to learn about our home first-hand due to their meticulous notation, pictures, and follow-up phone walkthrough. Christopher is warm, knowledgeable, great at sharing information, and takes the time to educate his clients. He took a generous amount of time squashing our worries about the inspection report, and we left the conversation knowing that we could handle every item on the list without added stress. Very professional organization. Explained everything to me in sufficient detail for me to understand. They completed everything right on time. Report was detailed but not too detailed, so I would say just right. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone. Very kind people also.

I would recommend Foundations to anybody purchasing a home. Christopher and Michelle are friendly and were able to get to the house quickly to keep everything on schedule. They were were very detailed, knowledgeable and find every little thing big or small. They also recommend products or contractors that could help prevent future problems or fix current ones, which, as a first home buyer, was a huge plus. Very thorough inspection. Did a complete verbal overview of the inspection with detailed photos and spent significant time explaining everything. They found issues most inspectors would have missed. I have dealt with multiple home inspectors in the past but none were nearly as thorough as Foundations.

They were very informative, answered all my questions when I called. Their report was very thorough and easy to read. There was no confusion about what they were talking about. The pictures that they provide a great as well. I would recommend this company for home inspections.

Not only did they do an incredibly thorough inspection, but they even provided us with extra tips and information for yearly maintenance reminders and concerns. Chris and Michelle were extremely thorough and eminently professional. After they completed their inspection of the house, they walked us through every room looking at everything they looked at and explained each item to us. Chris took almost as much time with our walkthrough as he did the initial inspection and we walked away feeling knowledgeable and comfortable in our decision-making process as we dealt with the sellers. Their prices were beyond reasonable. I cannot begin to express how personable and approachable they both were with us and with our four daughters. Foundations provided us with a detailed report, suggestions for contractors, and connections to programs that will help us take care of our house in the future.

Sometimes the first impression is the lasting impression. In this case is was the final impression that altered this experience for us. Due to some tricky wording when trying to obtain us as clients and some fine print that was in fact the opposite of their orginal promises, we did not get what we paid for. Unless you consider that they were cheaper then the other businesses in town. Now I see why. Not only were they disrespectful towards my father who has been in the industry for 30+years, when we contacted them to clarify their original statements about inspecting the roof, they were less that professional. In the fine print it says they are not "required" to walk the roof upon inspection. I had to read 40 pages of their contract to get a straight answer after getting several different stories saying they would/might/couldn't/ then finally that they wouldn't do it. When I asked them if they could walk the roof during my first conversation that stated they could as long as there wasn't snow present. Because there was snow they gave us contact info for a professional roof inspector to come out. The roofer wasn't responding. The next day we sent them pictures of the clear roof and asked if they could follow up since they were paid for the initial inspection and had an appt. to place the Radon test. They refused and stated they NEVER do walks on the roof during winter month, never mind the original statements of snow vs no snow. Not only did I spend 15mins on the phone with them trying to have a conversation to clarify but most of it was reminding them that I wasn't upset because there was snow, but that they were NOT UPFRONT with us and I kept having to remind them to keep a professional tone when trying to come to an understanding. Between their seriously misleading sales pitch, disrespect to clients and other parties, and unwillingness to complete simple standard procedures, I would never recommend this company to anyone. Way to ruin a first time home buyers experience.

UPDATE: As soon as they saw the review I received a threating phone call. They said they spoke with the commissioner and that it was up to them to finish the service. Which we have 2 separate contracts. One for home inspection and one for a separate radon testing that was added on later. He said he will take me to small claims court....for the money I still planned on paying. I asked him to finish the work as contracted and I WOULD NOT skip on the bill. He said, "WELL YOU NEVER KNOW BASED ON YOUR PERSONALITY." Good thing everyone doesn't run business like this guy!

They spent 2.5 hours with us after the inspection was completed to ensure that we knew exactly what they had identified. Excellent company! Their home inspection is very thorough so when you buy the house you know exactly what you are getting. Immediately following the inspection they reviewed their findings with me and answered my many questions. My Real estate agent and I were able to create a fix-it list from the inspection report to give to the seller and seller’s agent. It was so easy and clearly described the items we wanted repaired. Very impressed with this company. I am a first time home buyer, and they did a home inspection for me prior to closing on the house. Christopher was extremely informative (without being overwhelming) and honest about what should be done sooner rather than later. They didn’t judge on any questions I had that I may have thought were silly. My mom came with me to the walk through, and she even said she learned so much from my inspection she is going to have these guys come out just for a maintenance inspection! Foundation Home Inspection has given me the best home inspection service experience after two prior home purchases and the five inspections that occurred in those instances.

Michelle and Christopher are genuinely nice people, but their use of current day technology to communicate report findings far outstrips the best reports seen before. Additionally, their knowledge about home construction concepts and standards was a great comfort to me. I'm the son of a carpenter and needed to have and inspection repeated before, prior home purchase experience, due to an inadequate report.

The Foundation Home Inspection reports are inclusive of all the house inspection items, but are not a simple checklist. Each report, I used their service twice, is customized to the specific house you are buying. The reports also includes numerous, and high quality, pictures that clearly communicate any issues of concern or discoveries. They will be sent to you via E-mail and the PDF document can easily be sent to other parties as the situation dictates. This proved to be extremely helpful in collaboration between the real-estate agents and eventually between the seller and buyer. The comprehensive, and non-biased, reports were also very useful in determining the feasibility and intelligence of the home purchases via further communication with contractor’s estimations on proposed home improvement projects and selling price negotiations.

Finally, the reports included the names/phone numbers/e-mail & web addresses of several local contractors that were sorted based on the services they provide. SO VERY HELPFUL!!

You can look for other services if you want to, but I recommend that if you want a home inspection done right, look no further than Foundation Home Inspections.

When I first spoke with Michelle requesting the inspection I was so impressed with the thoroughness of her explaining the process that I thought if the inspection was as good as my initial impression I was going to be very pleased. I AM! Their inspection and report were great!

I see they responded to my one star review. What they don't tell you is the owner called my husband at his work and threatened him that if he did not tell his wife to take off the one star review he was going to complain to his boss and cause him problems.. He outright threatened my husband. I called him and told him to apologize after he found out I was recording his threats and that if he didn't say sorry I would report him to the state and he would lose his license. He immediately knew he went too far and he sent an email apology for his threats and poor business behavior. If he responds to this review with any type of lies I will copy and paste his email as proof.
I do not take kindly to lies or threats or fabricated responses. They deserved the one star. Fact.
