I had a roof leak, so I called several roofing companies for quotes. Family Roofing was one of them. I asked for a quote to replace the roof, and Ami came to inspect both the attic and the roof. He told me that while replacing the roof was an option, it still had 5-7 years left and suggested just repairing it for now. The other four roofers all said I needed a new roof right away, and two of them didn’t even go on the roof—just used a drone to look at it. I’m so glad I went with Family Roofing! i am extremely pleased with this company from the very beginning! i had some doubts because my niece had a rough experience with a different roofing company recently. the technician who set up the project was fantastic, and he worked well with our insurance for the roof damage caused by last year's hail storm. he was quick to respond to all my questions through texts and calls. very professional! the roof installation was completed in just 2 days! i noticed another house down the street took at least two weeks with a different roofing company. the project manager for the roof installation was excellent, thorough, and answered all my questions. they also installed a solar tube, and i wasn't completely satisfied with how it looked. however, the project manager returned the next day and cleaned it up to make it look perfect. it's refreshing to see such professionalism these days! the cleanup was impressive as well, and i only spotted a few tapcons left on the ground after the job was done—otherwise, it was spotless! the gutters and downspouts were installed two weeks later and took just one day to complete. the project manager ensured we had all the necessary splash guards, installed two as requested, and said to let him know if we needed more after it rained. again, the cleanup was excellent, and i was pleasantly pleased with the entire process. highly recommend this company! 110% satisfaction!

The planning manager at their office was very communicative during the entire project. She was also very helpful when their skylight window supplier had a order mixup, delivering the wrong one. All was sorted out just fine and very glad she was there to assist the project staff. Rainy weather caused a slight delay but the project began very close to the estimated schedule. Looking back, it actually worked out better for us as we had some other plans, and that made it easier for us to attend. To sum it up, we are extremely satisfied with the entire project, from beginning to end, and would confidently recommend this roofing company to anyone in need.

I first met Ami about five years ago when I bought my house. My realtor recommended him for an additional roof inspection beyond the standard one. Ami came by, pointed out several issues, including soft spots, and recommended a full roof replacement, suspecting rotting wood. I then got three other estimates, all suggesting I could just add another layer on top, with no major concerns. However, Ami warned me against that, citing the soft spots as a serious issue.

His estimate was about $5,000 more than the others, and he offered a 25-year warranty, while the others offered 50-year or lifetime warranties. At the time, I chose the cheaper option, thinking I had plenty of work to do inside the house. In hindsight, that was a mistake.

Fast forward two years to 2022. A contractor installing Christmas lights accidentally fell through the roof and into the attic, almost coming down into the living room—thankfully, no one was hurt. I tried contacting the roofer who did the job, only to find they were out of business, so the warranty was void.

I called Ami again, and this time, he replaced the roof. Over the years, I’ve worked with a lot of contractors, and many of them tend to over-promise and under-deliver. Ami, however, was different. He was straightforward, explained exactly what needed to be done, and never promised anything he couldn’t follow through on.

Long story short, I ended up paying for the roof twice. I’ve been meaning to write this review for a few years now, but I wanted to be sure everything held up well through a few rainy seasons. I’m happy to say the roof is solid and holding strong.

We had a smaller job - just replacing fascia and gutters. While we were a bit nervous about the percentage of costs he wanted on day one, Ami managed the project well, dealt with us honestly, and addressed all of our concerns at a price that matched our expectations. We’ve had our share of experiences with contractors who back pedal on verbal agreements and common sense that didn’t get explicitly encoded into the contract and try to incrementally renegotiate the price, so it was refreshing to work with someone who actually meant it when he said his goal was to deliver work we’d be happy with.

I have to write this review because I have never encountered this type of honesty and transparency, especially in the construction business. I live outside of California and own a property in LA. I contacted several roofing companies to do a repair due to a couple of leaks that my tenant informed me about. One of the roofing companies was Family Roofing. Ami, the owner, let me know that he can schedule an inspection and provide me with an estimate, or he can give me an estimate based on the estimates I had already received. I decided to send him one of the estimates I got from another roofing company, and Ami was able to give me a better price - so I decided to go with him.
Family Roofing provided a detailed estimate and Ami walked me through the entire process, ensuring I was comfortable and informed every step of the way, which was important since I live out of state.
My tenant let me know that the crew who was working on the roof was respectful and great at the cleanup every day, and I cannot believe how fast they did the work.
But here's the crazy part: a few days after Ami’s crew started the work, Ami called me and told me he owes me $5000. I was pretty confused why he would owe ME money. Turns out, the estimate I had received from one of the other roofing companies and forwarded to him included the cost for an entire redeck. Ami saw that I had good decking and didn’t actually need to replace the entire decking. He could have easily just kept the money I already paid him but he said this would be stealing and he needs to pay me back! Thank you so much, Ami – I will never forget this!!

Family Roofing did a great job on our roof. They explained what they would do and then actually did what they said they would do. They did so much more than the other bidders proposed and for about the same price. Very pleased with the results and I would highly recommend Family Roofing.

We've dealt with plenty of contractors since we bought our house, and unfortunately the good ones are few and far between. Family Roofing is one of the exceedingly few good ones. Ami took the time to explain every step of the process, was on budget, was on time, and was exceptionally communicative with us throughout the entire process. Most importantly, I could tell he legitimately cared about what he does, and that he honestly cared about making sure we were happy with the results. In a world of contractors who couldn't care less about about their client's happiness, and who don't really take pride in their work, this would've been worth paying a premium - but we didn't have to, as he was still the most affordable (i.e. no unnecessary up-charges) of any of the roofers with whom we spoke. I carefully reviewed over 9 different roofers before making my selection. I learned alot throughout the process..

And, I ended up choosing Ami because he had the most positive energy, was not pushy at all (he is confident, there is a big difference), and seemed to really take pride in his work and company and look out for my best interests. I took a chance and it ended up being a sound decision.

As a customer of a big-ticket project, it's natural to be weary throughout the experience.

Ami and his team made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. In fact, he made me more and more comfortable as the process unfolded which is rare.

Just got our roof done this week and I am very happy with the work.

When I first contacted the company Ami came over and checked where I had leaks. He took pictures to show me the areas and then explained to me the different layers in the roof. Out of the other quotes I got this was the best price and he was also the most responsive.

The company also got the permit required from the city. After they acquired the permit they ordered the color shingles we wanted and then came and took off the old roof in one day and then the new shingles was delivered and they put on the new shingles in one day. I was impressed at how fast they were.

Ami reached out and we filled him in on our problem, he came to assess in person and he was honest and clear that we would need an entire tear down and reroof due to having wood shake under our cement tile roof due to fire codes and insurance.
