Family Home Improvements - Whittier, CA

Okay here's my story. FHI came to my home to quote central air at my home. After a 2 hour presentation I was given a price and it was good. So I told the rep to give me a written quote so I could contact my Hero financing rep. I was told I would get the quote e-mailed to me. Weeks go by and still no quote. So another rep calls me asks me why I don't want to do business with them. I told the rep that statement is untrue and that I was waiting for the quote. I was told another rep would to home again and give me the quote. So the rep came and wanted to do another 2 hour presentation. I was no I just need the quote that was promised to me so I can go over the numbers with my financing agent at Hero. So once again I am told I would get the quote e-mailed to me. Weeks go by again and still no quote. And literally for months reps for "Family Home Improvements" keep calling me and asking either "If I 'm ready to do business with them" or "Why I don't want to do business with them". And I keep telling these people the same story I wrote above. But I kept giving them chances to redeem the company by telling them to simply send me the quote. They say they will but never do. Finally after around 6 times of this I tell the rep that they had their chance and I gave them more chances than needed. I followed up with telling the rep that at this point my feeling were that if they can't even fulfill their quote promises, keep true customer interaction records and just plain stop wasting people's time; how they could actually expect me to actually want to do business with them. I asked to be removed from their call list. But guess?...They stopped calling for about 2 months....and just recently called again asking again "If I'm ready to do business with them". The company has some serious problems. DO NOT TRUST THEIR LIES AND KEEP AWAY FROM THEM. My next step is to report them.

Jose and Manuel did an amazing job on my parents house in Duarte. My dad is very hard to please and he said they did an excellent job!

David was very honest with me. My old patio was about to fall down. I needed a new patio. What they built me was the most beautiful free standing patio I could ever want. It was built in a couple days with alum wood. I never have to paint, or worry about wood rot or termites. I love it. It's beautiful. Davids team was great to work with. Honest and down to earth. I will use Family Home Improvements on my next big project. Thank you

They just started our roof. So far we are very disappointed with this company. The people they have sent to do the job are very unprofessional. Lots of miscommunication between company and contractor. Will keep you posted as they continue working. So far they have earned 1 from us.
So.. as I promised to keep you updated. After calling and questioning why things were not going as explained on presentation. As it turns out Calvin and Chris only came to make a presentation, they don't have a "team" of workers in their company. Neither do they communicate with them. They have not called us to follow up on misunderstanding. Or even apologize. Roof is being worked on. But we are the ones supervising and making sure that we get what we are paying for.
Update: Roof is almost done. Minor details still remaining. Roof contractor owner told my husband that we were taking half of his office staff time with our "minor" complains. Really?? So disappointed that they think their costumers concerns are a waste of their time.

David, the owner of Family Home Improvements / Machado Construction, is the most personable, caring vendor I've ever come across. I had requested a bid for replacement windows in my old (1956) condo. The HOA would not approve a change to the existing overall dimensions. David, and his team, spent MANY hours trying to make it happen. In the end, because of the HOA and Permit restrictions, new windows just wouldn't be possible. When the decision was made to cancel the order, David was a total gentleman. He even told me he would return my deposit. Unbelievable, considering all the hours he had put in.
I recommend this company, without hesitation.

Family home improvements did an outstanding job installing our new Anlin Windows. They were very clean and real professional from start to finish. Windows arrived on time as promised . The project manager maintained contact with us the whole time.
