Miguel and his team did a great job building my pergola, and I felt the price was very fair. He answered my phone calls promptly and showed up at the times agreed upon. It's very rare anymore to find someone like Miguel, and I whole-heartily recommend him.
Miguel and his crew did a wonderful job of remodeling my bathroom about 8 months ago. Last week there was a small problem with the light fixture and when I called Miguel he had someone come the very next day to replace it. There was no charge for the work because it was still under warranty. I have always been pleased with the work that Miguel has done for us over many years!
This review is long overdue. We “discovered” Miguel Alarcon and his crew (El’s Remodeling LLC) 3 or 4 years ago. He got his first 2 stars just because he actually responded to our inquiry and did so quickly. (It astounds us that so many business people don’t see the need for either.) We scheduled a time for him to come to the house, and again he was there when he said he would be. We started with a simple task, it was completed in a timely manner, and we were very pleased with the result. It went from there to more and more projects being moved from our ToDo list to El’s ToDo list! The biggest, most complex, and labor-intensive project was redoing our large deck. It had to have some of the infrastructure repaired, all new deck boards, and railings, with steps at both ends of the deck. It turned out beautifully. We were on a roll. Next was remodeling a bath room. It meant removing a built-in, non-functioning, fiberglass jetted tub, a fiberglass “telephone booth” shower, the double sink vanity, and the floor tiles. With a clean slate, the guys helped us build a beautiful modern bathroom with new everything. Since the new vanity counter was marble, we chose marble-look tile for the lower half of the walls and 2 walls of the new shower (the others being glass), and slate-look floor tile, topped off with a free-standing tub. The list goes on and on, with many minor repairs, lots of painting (with Horacio and Alex winning extra stars for how good they’ve become), and one more monster job. We decided we really needed to encapsulate our large crawl space. After getting quotes, which were all insane, Miguel saved us a considerable amount of money and did a much better and logical job. The only problem was … they discovered a water leak. It turned out to be a pin hole leak in a pipe going to one of the small bathrooms that had apparently been there for at least 20 years. That had to be dealt with first, but it was not on the list! Once they figured out exactly where it was and how to get to it, they had to take the vanity out of the bathroom, carefully take up several floor tiles (for which there were no spares), cut open a piece of wall, and remove and replace the section of beam that had rotted. I didn’t sleep for 2 nights. When they got everything put back together, re-tiled, and cleaned, I couldn’t believe how it all looked. As if nothing had happened! Then the hard work started in the crawl space. Since we plan on selling our house sometime this coming year, we feel so lucky to have these projects not only done, but done so well. We are do-it-yourself people, so it’s hard to turn projects over to someone else. But with Miguel and his guys, we know he is being totally fair with his pricing and that the job will be well done. (He sometimes demands more from his guys than we do…just sayin’.) We highly recommend El’s Remodeling for whatever you need to have done. And they are just really nice people to have around.
