From estimate to work completion, the entire process took under a week. The crew was top notch. They were effeciant and cleaned up after they were done. I reached out to Ellis builders for repairs to my house. Not only was the work done promptly (2 days after my inquiry) but it was done efficiently and exactly to my standards. Additionally, the job was finished earlier than expected. As I was leaving for work, Nick noticed that some touch up paint was needed for a completely irrelevant task. Ellis Builders resolved every roof leak and took care of all addition leak damage. They removed the old roof and replaced it with a perfect new one, fixed the gutters, did custom carpentry to adjust the roof pitch, and repaired sections inside the house where water had damaged the ceilings and walls. Every last leak was stopped for good. My peace of mind knowing water isnt slowly destroying my house is priceless.

I had the wind blow off a bunch of shingles at my house right before a major snow storm was expected to hit. Called them really late on a Friday not expecting them to be able to help before the storm but I spoke to Nick and he sent someone out on a Saturday to tarp the roof and had the repairs completed less than a week later.

Nick was a lifesaver and saved our house from taking in a lot of water damage which would have been a huge deal had he not sent someone out so quickly.

Will definitely use them again if we ever encounter any roofing issues.

Ellis Builders replaced our wood deck and installed a new composite deck. They went through the whole town permit process and really performed the project from start to finish. Nick and team were very professional throughout the project and provided a level of high quality workmanship. From the first phone call to Ellis Builders LLC I was very I impressed. It was a Saturday and Nick ANSWERED THE PHONE!! ( TWO STARS !!)
After identifying myself ,Nick said “ How can I help you? “ I explained I was looking for a company to give me an honest EVALUATION of the condition of my roof :“;you see a perspective Buyer of our house had gotten a quote for a new roof with no concrete statement from the home inspector that a new roof was needed.

Nick replied. Appointment was set up for the following day as I explained we had little time left for negotiating with Buyer.

Derek arrived promptly ( TWO STARS ) and stated “ the roof looks a little old “ but let me get up there and check it out. Onto the roof he went. He stated there were no visible signs of leakage or loose shingles etc ( we knew that because we have lived in the house for 46 years and dont have any leaks.)
My personal perspective is most homeowners question the integrity of their roof when they witness a problem. ( leak, shingles flying off or being loose etc . I dont know anyone who says “ oh I think I will get a new roof !!”

Derek was thorough in his evaluation , explaining the newer types of shingles. Although he stated the roof was
“ getting old “ in no way did he continue with an unwanted sales pitch. He did not pressure me into believing I needed a new roof.Derek answered the questions I asked.. His presentation was informative , friendly, and professional.

I then asked him to quote a new roof so I could share it with the perspective Buyer ..
Based upon my experience with Nick and Derek , if I were in the market for a new roof I would clearly go to Ellis Builders,LLC IN SOUTHBURY , CT

Professional and exceptional work completed. Friendly company, their communication for all aspects of the work kept my wife and I at ease. I am impressed with the new roof and how well they did at clean up. No plants or deck furniture were damaged. There was no debris to include nails in the yard either. I highly recommend Ellis Builders! Nick, the owner, was great to work with and very professional! They just recently did a full exterior restoration job on our house. This included fixing some major deck rot, replacing a main support beam and both painting and staining our entire house. All of the work came out great and we’re very happy with the finished product. Ellis Builders was there when we needed them. One of the support columns in our 1930's home began to disintegrate and rotted at the base. We were worried that the main weight bearing beam supporting the house would no longer do its job. We cannot say enough good things about Nick. We started with a nightmare scenario when our roof leaked after rainstorm and turned it into a total makeover of the exterior of our house. Ellis Builders handled the roof, interior damages, exterior siding, exterior painting and deck painting. This was truly a blessing in disguise for our family. He kept me informed through the whole process and was able to make my wife and I feel comfortable with our roof purchase . The materials used were high-quality and the job was completed on Schedule. His crew cleaned up so well after the job was completed that it looked as if nobody had even done any work. Admittedly, I did get a couple prices, but ultimately decided on Ellis builders. His pricing was very fair and on par with other companies. But we decided that we liked Nick and chose to deal with him.
