DS Construction Services

This is a new company that did renovation work in Colorado under the name New Castle Group LLC out of Loveland. They did a house renovation for us and the shortcuts throughout our home are now coming to the forefront. There's been a huge list of fixes and costs over the last 2 years, just a few: leaving a 16" gap in an outer kitchen wall which led to a 15-20 degree temp difference which had to be repaired & insulated properly; an unvented hood range which was against code; a gas FP not vented properly; damage to supplied expensive equipment & material; poor quality on finishes. The coup de grace: Painting my chef's kitchen NEW cabinets inadequately so they ALL have to be redone now due to chipping...they were not sanded, primed and sealed properly... they hired some guys off the street to do the work. where they spray painted in our house instead of a booth on the top of newly installed wood floors, newly painted walls, new window blinds, new ceiling fans/light fixtures. Think of the clean up - I was still finding green paint residue 10 months later!

The latest issue is four days ago our newly renovated master shower flooded coming through our sound speakers into our first floor den - ruining the speakers, the ceiling, the drywall, rugs and furniture beneath. The reason this happened was a cheaply purchased linear drain which was too long and shoved under a half wall bordering a vanity with inept plumbing. Now we have to completely redo the expensively tiled shower, the plumbing and our downstairs as well. There's no reason to seek any type of recompense from their business insurer...I seriously doubt they ever had insurance.

Several months ago, I was contacted by a group of people which had seen my kind review done in 2022. This group of 15 people were swindled by paying deposits for work to be done ...most lost their money because either the work started then wasn't finished; or the work never began then they were ghosted by the owners. I felt badly for these folks as a few mentioned my review.

Having supplied New Castle now DS Construction with all technical specs on every piece of material we supplied and an organized scope of work to be completed, it was apparent that. this SOW wasn't read or it was ignored entirely.

They may have started out as a reputable organization, but turned into something very different with the lack of caring about craftsmanship or providing top quality professional work.

This was an expensive remodel for 2 retired veterans, also senior citizens.

Well, here we are correcting each and every issue...sadly, there should have been none. Every day we pray that nothing else pops up. We will make it right because if and when we sell our house, we will care about the new owners and leave it better for them. Company Names can change, but character & integrity do not.

Be aware of the owner, Mike, of DS Construction. The owner also has companies; New Castle Group, LLC and The Groups of New Castle, LLC out of Loveland, CO. The smooth talking owner, Mike hires services, like our crane services, has his son Derek on site for the project, collects money from homeowners, and then does not pay for services he hired. All phone calls go to a voicemail. We are not the ONLY service provider that has not been paid by this business owner. Beware homeowners and service providers.

Looks like they have changed their name...They are a Scam company! We began our home renovation project in early May 2023 and regrettably we chose New Castle Group, LLC…HUGE MISTAKE! They are a scam company, they are quick to take your money, start the project, show up for a few days, leave the work unfinished, lie about materials being on order, send cryptic messages then disappear for a while. This was their pattern the entire summer! We understood weather delays and empathized with their personal challenges that unfolded and were willing to negotiate an amicable solution. They were uncooperative and unwilling to work together on a solution.

We found them on Angi which we believed was a reliable source. It was to be a 5-week project. As of today, most of the work they did needs to be fixed or completely redone. They are extremely unreliable, unprofessional and should NOT be in the construction business. Do not be fooled by “smooth talking” Mike…you too will be scammed by them if you engage their services.

Their subcontractors would show up, start a project, and leave it unfinished. In addition, their subcontractors were unprofessional, damaged our home, and rifled through the tools in our garage. And they took our ladders! They took short cuts when they did not have solid direction or the correct/enough materials. One subcontractor told us he had insulated the walls he worked on, and after inspection, it was determined he had not.

Bottom line, with New Castle Group LLC, or now DS Construction Servicess, you get lies, delays, no shows, little to no communication, and EXTREMELY POOR craftsmanship AND you will be out a great deal of money!

While I prefer avoiding negative reviews and legal action, it’s crucial they are held accountable. I want to prevent others from experiencing what we are dealing with. They were given ample opportunity to rectify the situation and chose not to. I have sent numerous emails with no response. DO NOT work with them!

One star is far too much!
