Matt, the owner is awesome by himself. His crew is just as awesome. Nice and professional guys that are quick and thorough with dirt work. We actually had them install a septic and water line plus do the dirt work for a house build. Later had them come out and grade a dirt project I had going. Can’t beat their expertise. Fair pricing on everything and just a great company to hire. Pics below are the grading they did last.

D&D construction was recommended to me by a friend to install a new roof on my house. I gave them a call near the end of June, 2023, and they had a quote to me within a couple days. My wife and I liked the quote so we had them install a new roof on our house. We started the project at the beginning of July. Overall, I was impressed with the quality and workmanship. There were a couple small issues after they completed the roof. I spoke with their rep and they agreed to fix the issues with no hassles. Thank you D&D for a good job.

D&D were easy to work with, did all the work within budget, and finished early! I contracted with them on a small raingarden project, and they did a fantastic job. Not only did they move all the dirt, they also laid river rock and built a small retaining wall (both of which were great). Will definitely rehire for future projects.

I am SO happy with this company! I had a horrible experience with another company that was supposed to be one of the best. After getting no response from that other company, I contacted D&D. Not only did they respond promptly, they installed my septic system within a couple weeks and did an amazing job. My yard was left in pristine condition, and the system works perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Matt Kempf & the rest of his crew did an outstanding job in upgrading/installing a new septic system at my home in Puyallup.

I really appreciate Matt's professionalism, assistance, and his prompt responses.

I will definitely refer D & D Construction, Inc to all my friends & family.

Mike came out in short order after a phone call to check my roof as water was dripping from my fascia. Thinking and hoping that there were loose hangers on the gutters, he performed a thorough inspection and he gave me the bad news no homeowner wants to hear, "you need a new roof". Mike proceeded to precisely detail the overall condition pointing out all of the defects the current roof had and gave me a remarkably fair quote. His crew worked long hours to ensure a speedy completion. There was not a hint of debris, nothing other than a beautiful new roof. If you hire another company, you're shorting yourself.

Professional, courteous and did a fantastic job putting a new metal roof on our commercial shop. They also repaired and cleaned another roof, as well as cleaned our office roof and gutters. Awesome job guys! On behalf of Total Grounds Management, inc. We thank you!!

Unbelievably, comically bad work. Feel free to contact me: I have loads of photos.

Do not use this company ever for anything!!

On top of horrible quality and a complete inability to maintain a schedule, they "accidentally" ripped out a cedar deck and patio and crushed/partially removed the sewer line to my home rendering the home unlivable. They were only supposed to build a simple detached garage! After 6 months of BS, I fired them and months later we are still repairing their mistakes.

Don't make the mistake of hiring D&D!

Great company ran by people that really care. we had wind damage at our home on south hill and D&D came out and told us what it would take to fix it. they were very nice at a time of some stress. Never had to deal with something like this before. Mike and Cindy worked with us so we knew what to expect and work around our schedules. At the same time we had received a few more quotes and D&D came in far under the others and had the same equipment, labor, and materials on the quote. The job went quick and the roof looks great. my wife got to pick the color and type and D&D were happy to install. the best part about working with them was how much they wanted us to be happy with the roof and the experience of working with them.

great company, very honest, and i would recommend them to anyone. Wish more company's did business like them.

Needing a new roof was one of the worst experiences as a homeowner my wife and I have had. After several companies gave us a price we called D&D on a referral from a friend. Mike came out and gave us the price, and while not the cheapest he was most certainly very precise in describing his method and what was needed for building codes and his methodology in replacing the roof. Cindy (office manager) was a pleasure to talk to, patiently explaining financing options, paperwork and even filling out our H.O.A paperwork for us after we had signed the proposal. Mike and his crew arrived, were professional and informative throughout. Very hard work in inclement weather while we stayed dry.His crew cleaned all debris and even blew down the roof and driveway before they left.I have not provided reviews for companies I have hired in the past however this is one company I would recommend to friends and family easily and I felt deserved it!

D&D is fantastic roofing contractor. They are a family owned business right from our home town of Orting. They installed the beautiful green metal roof on the public building right by Big J's sports store and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend them for any roofing needs.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
