I contacted Correct Roofing to get estimates on repairing and replacing the roof, soffit, fascia and gutters. Sammy arrived that same afternoon, took the measurements, walked through the process and materials needed, provided descriptions of material options and samples for selection. He recommended replacing the 40 year old "mushroom" attic vents with the currently preferred roof peak ventilation method and noted that it requires baffles to channel the airflow from the eve vents, and that would be an additional expense.
Later that day, the office called to let me know the proposal was being emailed, and Sammy walked through the details, describing the work items and materials, and the warranties. He reviewed the price quotes and add-on cost rate for repairing unexposed problems that might be discovered during the job.
I confidently agreed to the contract, and the work was scheduled for the following week.
The crew arrived on time and began removing the old roofing. There were a several bad sections that needed to be replaced, and there were no baffles, so we discussed those add-ons and agreed to proceed with all repairs.
The crew worked diligently and completed all the repairs and the new roof installation that same day. The work crew were remarkable, very professional, skilled and friendly. They pointed out the discovered issues and how they were resolved, and how the new roof was installed.
The following week, the crew returned to replace the soffits, fascia and gutters. Once again I was impressed with the quality of their workmanship and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Correct Roofing replaced our roof and it was a great experience from start to finish!! We had a few different companies come out to give us quotes for our roof. When Sam (the owner) came out, it was pretty clear this was the company we were going to hire. Sam was super clear on what we needed and what we didn’t. The owner came out right away and brought references, his insurance papers, and his business license. They did the work right away and thank goodness they did because we had a lot of rain.

I contacted Correct Roofing out of the phone book about a leaky skylight. Lucky find. My skylight was shot (24 years). All of my skylights were shot. Correct Roofing replaced all with new skylights,
made other roofing/flashing repairs and finished (trimmed out/stained) the installed skylights. All work was completed in a timely and professionally manner. I would recommend this company for roofing/construction projects. Great to work with!!

Correct Roofing helped me identify and make a claim for hail damage to our roof and gutters. From the complicated insurance filing process through the completion of the project, they were great to work with. I love that this is a family business, I worked with not only the owners Sam and Ginny who were very helpful but also had a great experience with Sean (Sales), Melissa (Public Adjuster), Donnie (Foreman) and basically everyone on the team. They came and did the roof earlier than expected and resolved an issue with a manufacturer incorrectly ordering our shutters. Navigating Insurance claims can be a complicated process and they were available for questions/clarity every step of the way. Sam even gave some recommendations on how we can better protect ourselves with insurance coverage in the future. We are also very happy with the quality of materials and labor that was provided. I was a little skeptical of the entire process at first, but they were available to answer all my questions and make me feel comfortable. You always have to be your own advocate, ask questions, keep good notes and make sure you have clarity, but they made things MUCH easier, and I would recommend this company to family and friends.

Our neighbor referred us to Correct Roofing. We met many contractors in the spring of 2024 due to a recent hail storm. We watched as many contractors provided sub par services, workmanship and materials to our neighbors. Correct Roofing not only helped us to get our claim approved through insurance as our personal adjuster but they did an exemplary job. I highly recommend Correct Roofing and Construction for roofing as well as other construction projects. I wanted to select the right contractor because I wanted it done right. After I saw the great job they did on the neighbor's roof, I decided to select them and I am thankful I made that choice. They worked with my insurance company and did a great job on the roof. Also, my house is at the age where it needed a number of other repairs and replacements. I decided to contract with Correct Roofing and Construction to do those additional projects since I trusted that the job would turn out well and I didn't need to find different contractors for the individual tasks. Now I feel like I have a new house.

I had a roof leak from hail damage. I had no experience working with Insurance companies, the situation honestly gave me anxiety. Sam came out worked with me and my insurance company. Sam is very knowledgeable and patient. Explained everything throughout the process. I also cannot say enough great things about his office staff Laura, Melissa & Ginny. They were all very helpful and great on following up!

The process of roof/siding replacement went very well. All of their crews are very respectful of the property. During the replacement issues came up that were not correct from prior work completed on the house. Sam's crews fixed those issues.I would say his crews went above and beyond. During the siding process I had a situation come up where I could not be home, and my garage door was stuck open. His crew even helped with fixing the door. I felt very secure leaving my home open with any one of Sam's foremen. I feel very comfortable and secure in my home now that everything has been replaced correctly!

I could not have been more pleased with the roof and gutter work that Sam Biggs and Correct Roofing and Construction (CRC) performed on my house.

The subdivision where I live received a very strong hailstorm. Nearly all the houses are getting new roofs. I was approached by a number of salespeople trying to sell me a new roof, which would be covered by insurance. I was never comfortable with their pitch. Then I met Sam Biggs, and after a fair amount of due diligence on my part, I decided to work with CRC and I’m so glad I did.

Sam and I literally talked for hours about his company’s credentials, lien waivers, liability insurance, shingle selection, installation warranty, manufacturer’s warranty, detailed contract by work component, worker safety, and how the insurance process works. I’ll spare you the details, but it all created a ton of confidence that I picked a reputable company.

However, when CRC came out to perform the roof and gutter replacement, I was blown away by how much more professional their operation was compared to everything I witnessed happening in our neighborhood. Below is my experience.

• On Monday morning, six CRC company vehicles showed up (no personal vehicles).
• At least 12 CRC employees on site (twice the size of other crews and no subcontractors)
• Two supervisors for the physical laborers
• People on the roof wore harnesses and were tied off to safety lines (only company I saw do this)
• Sam’s brother in-law Donnie is a supervisor and Donnie’s son was also part of the crew
• They noticed a roof vent was in the wrong location, got some new plywood, and relocated (no extra compensation)
• They finished the roof, cleaned up, and were on the road by 5:00 PM the same day.
• Gutters and downspouts were put on with a small crew over the next two days
• For no extra charge, CRC painted the cedar trim after they took off the old downspouts and before the new downspouts were attached.
• Donnie even installed some new wood trim around a second-floor window (again, no extra charge)

Here’s what I saw with some other homes in the neighborhood. The typical crew had a handful of guys, most of which drove their personal car, no full-time supervisors, no safety harnesses, etc… One house took four days for a roof to get completed and it rained one night. Another house only had its new roof for six weeks before it had to be torn off and replaced as it didn’t last through the next hailstorm.

I really feel people are being taken advantage of. If you get a new roof, regardless of if you pay out of pocket or with insurance proceeds, you might as well get the best roof for the price that you can get. For me, that was one installed by CRC!

Unbelievably happy with the entire experience I had with Correct Roofing. Roof and gutters were damaged from hail and everyone I worked with was extremely helpful and meticulous throughout the entire process! Laura was an immense help in understanding the insurance process and was always available to answer any questions I had. Sam, the owner, was able to get the permit pulled and the work done as soon as approval was given. Don was fantastic when we found a few minor leaks in the gutters and was able to get out here right away and get them sealed, in the rain! A neighbor even stopped by a few days ago to tell me what a fantastic job they did and how beautiful it looks! Correct Roofing replaced my roof when I moved into my home years ago and I will use them in the future on ANY home I own.

The crew came to our house in Gurnee early on 5-16-24 and got right to work on the re-shingling project. As far as I can tell they did a great job. The crew leader kept in touch with me and kept me informed regarding A few roof problems they were working on. I could tell he really took pride in his work. Im sorry im not good remembering names but these guys really put in the effort to make the house look good. I was concerned with the yard cleanup after the shingles were in place but no need to worry. They did a great job cleaning up and the yard looked as good as new when they were done. Thanks to everyone for your hard work. I feel confident our roof is going to be leak free.

Had a great experience with Correct. They successfuly pushed my insurance claim through and got me a new roof, gutters, and downspouts. The crew was very professional, always on time, and did fantastic work completing the job. Sam was always available to adress any questions I had, and the office kept me updated on the status of my claim. Overall great company and highly reccomend them for any insurance claims or home improvement needs.

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! I am so appreciative of how Ginny, Sam, Dennis, Don, Nicky, etc. worked with me to replace the roof on my mother's house in an astonishingly quick timeframe! Unfortunately, the roof they had to replace was very shoddily installed in the first place, and they had to replace 48 pieces of rotted plywood before they could even put down the replacement roof, and they still did it all in ONE DAY!!! It was quite a production! Even though we encountered unexpected expenses, the care they took to explain everything along the way eased my mind and I knew I was in good hands working with a trustworthy and ethical company. They even came the next day to finish tuckpointing the chimney (what?!)! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

They did a great job, honest and great workers! Unexpected things came up but that was unavoidable! Cleaned up well and I would recommend them to anyone, get the facts and do your homework!

This was one of the worse experiences we've had! The communication between everyone in the office and the project crew is horrible and leaves you wondering what's going on??
After shopping around for a reliable roofing company we spoke with Sam, owner, and he assured us that his family has been in this business for hundreds of years. From his Dad to his GrandDad, and His GrandDads Dad and so on. He will talk your ear off about how they are professional and they pride themselves in their work.
When they finally did come to do the roof and gutters, the crew seemed to be more interested in goofing around than staying focused on the job. To complete a small roof that we were TOLD would be 3 hours "TOP" (just another lie to get the our business) The roof was completed in 10 hours after begging Sam to send someone to do the roof for over a week! Maybe if they didn't jump around playing all day, the roof may have been done sooner. When the roof was finally installed, there were 3 workers left behind and waited for a truck 2 hours in my driveway, again playing and joking around (very bothersome while I was in the house all day waiting for them to leave)
Not to mention......they forgot to do the Gutters and contacted us for final payment?? I had to remind them that the gutters weren't installed yet, Again the miscommunication from this Company left us wondering.
And unbelievable that there was damage to our soffit as well as the roof exhaust vent cap and 1 of the gutters. Sam argued they were not responsible for that EVEN though we HAVE pictures to prove it, he said that he was gonna send someone to fix the suffit but after weeks of waiting I gave up.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Sam will fill your ears with stories and talk about how he knows everyone in the village, but beware, He cuts corners because HE knows people.

Having worked with Sam and Correct Roofing & Construction for well over a decade, I have seen the hard work and dedication they put into EVERY JOB! When I needed new supports and repairs done (because of safety issues) in my new home in a very short amount of time, Sam came over in lightning speed to address the issue and get his team working the VERY NEXT DAY! In the last 3 weeks when I found out my older house had a collapsing roof due to rotting plywood underneath, Sam again put forth his best efforts and took his team of 12 skilled roofers who completed my roof over the course of one day!! Pretty incredibly good. Did everything they said they would. Reliable, cleaned up thoroughly. The workers were all really good guys. Very polite and didn't make me feel like an idiot. Exceptional service is what comes to mind when talking about Correct Roofing. Sam and Ginny have created a company that is a throwback to when customer satisfaction was the norm not the exception.
That is the reason for this review. We are senior citizens and this is the only review that we have ever written.

It all started with a door hanger (the only one that we did not just toss in the trash immediately). What piqued our interest was a copy of their business license issued by the state and a note saying “We noticed you have defective organic shingles on your roof. We can assist you with getting money back from the manufacturer and filing a claim with your insurance company to get your roof replaced.”

We called and Ginny answered immediately. Ginny’s pleasant demeanor and professionalism prompted us to make an appointment with Sam. Sam came to our house the next day to explain their process of replacing our roof and explained how their private adjuster, Melissa (family member), would contact our insurance company to file a claim and work with their adjuster. Due to Melissa’s efforts our insurance claim was approved very quickly and a date was set for the installation.

Don (family member) showed up at the appointed time with six trucks and twelve men to tear off our old roof and install the new roof. They were finished within four hours with everything including the cleanup of our yard. Don had that crew operating like a well oiled machine. Everyone was professional, pleasant and efficient.

Laura (family member) worked with us to file the claim with the manufacturer of our old shingles. We cannot thank her enough for all of the help that she gave us.

All in all, this was a painless process. They handled everything for us with our insurance company, getting the building permit from the village and even removing our old DirecTV mount.

If you need a new roof, just call Correct Roofing for a job done PROFESSIONALLY by an old fashioned company that cares.

In and out in 2 days plus one more for the gutters because they were on back-order from the manufacturer. He took his time explaining what needed to be done and was always available via cell/text which is important because I travel for work and unavailable during regular hours.

We were pleased with the roofing crew. They protected our siding and landscaping during the installation and they were friendly and easy to communicate with.
We recommend that you check the shingle bundles before installation to be sure they are the ones you ordered.
In our case the shingles were not the right ones. If we had not checked them, we would have had a lesser quality roof on our house and not known it.

Called Sam with a roof repair job needed as a result of a home inspection. They were out the next day with 4 guys and had it done within hours. Absolutely perfect job, even went above and beyond to make sure all issues were taken care of. A super reasonable price, too.
