You know it time to replace your exterior windows or doors when you no longer have to open them to let fresh air in or you find yourself scraping the ice off on the inside during the winter. That was my issue - the challenge is to find a dependable local contractor. Living in a small mountain resort town can sometimes limit your options. Fortunately I was able to find the right contractor and after a bit of planning, I was able to get my project scheduled and my items ordered. The install team was great - they completed the job on time and there were no issues with the Town Building Inspector. The entire experience was amazing - from dealing with the office folks, the estimator and the install team. Everyone did what needed to be done - a big thanks to all.

Ryan just left my house after replacing a window in our bedroom. He was awesome - on time, quality work, and cleans up after the job. Thank you Ryan and Gregory Door & Window for another job well done!

Gregory Door and Windows did a phenomenal job replacing all the windows in our little cabin, including making two of them larger. They were super easy to work with, even having to navigate the pandemic supply issues. Next up, new doors!!!!

John, his wife, and friends had taken us in when we had lost our keys out on a trail - as it has started to rain and hail. Their generosity and hospitality really saved my girlfriend and I that day. They are amazing people, we briefly met their staff at their business - myself being in property management and seeing how well everyone carried themselves - I would not hesitate to choose them as a potential vendor for any and all projects that include any of their services offered. Great people with a great business who have been in town for almost 40+ years! Bless you!

Sincerely,
-Jacob & Jasmine

Fair warning: their word is not their bond; only written contracts are valid. When they verbally say they made a mistake. they will not own up to it later. We own several houses and have done many renovations over our lifetimes. This was by far the must unpleasant and dishonest experience we have ever had with any contractor.

Complete waste of my time to have this company even get me a quote. I submitted a request in the summer 2020, I finally got a call back in Jan. 2021.They charged me $125 for an estimate. I waited over 4 weeks for the estimate. Then the price they quote me was SO OUTAGEOUS. Their quite was double of another competitor's quote. They want to charge me $66,000 for replacement of 15 windows. This is a "screw you" estimate. What a waste of time and $125. They clearly never wanted my business.

Nice enough staff but pricing was off the charts. I paid $125 for them to tell me it would cost $1,700+ to replace glass only in 1 window (2 separate glazing units). Labor was over $1,000 for a couple hours work. I hired a competent competitor to do the job for half the price. If Gregory didn't want the work, then just tell me. Don't try to rip me off instead. Beware.

We have a house in Breckenridge, CO with a number of crank style windows that were in need of repair. I called Gregory for help. It took a while to get the repair scheduled. I suspect the reason was due to how busy they are. The technician, Brandon, called to let me know he would be there shortly and promptly got to work. Brandon was courteous, very knowledgeable and did a great job. All of our windows got repaired and are working perfectly. Brandon also replaced the weather stripping on a door and adjusted the fit. Overall, Brandon was a great technician and I would strongly recommend Gregory Door & Window. It is nice to call a business, have them do a great job, respect the owner's property and charge a fair price.

The Sales Staff and Installation Crew were a pleasure to work with. They are honest, fair and very professional. We are extremely happy with the outcome of our new doors. Windows are next and we look forward to working with them again in the Spring.

We have a 30 year old house in Breck and one of the windows would open but not close. After a handyman looked at it he said to call Gregory Door & Window because it needed a special part. They were great and took care of everything!

We had a very difficult window replacement at our industrial plant and Gregory technicians were able to replace windows in a timely fashion.

I want to make clear how satisfied with are with work by all staff involved. We began this project in January when I searched the internet and approached some firms. We concluded very quickly that we did not want to deal with national firms, heavily invested in advertising and pressure tactics. Then we approached GDW and visited with you and some other staff at your office one cold morning in January.

We had several questions that were quickly answered in the affirmative; is this a serious operation; is this a local business; are the staff experienced, trained and professional; can we expect quality advice and guidance; what should be our next steps. All questions were answered to our satisfaction. And we began with a visit from Scott who walked us through the entire house and checked out each door and window as we requested.

That visit was the basis for your estimate which we changed a couple of times guided by you and other staff. The team involved performed to a high standard, demonstrating know-how as well as a client orientation. John who was in charge of installation and finishing was extremely courteous, helpful to us and responsible.

I have been working with Lori and Scott at Gregory Door and Windows on several projects at my house for wood, doors and windows. Great customer service and quality products. I live out of town so good email communications are important to me. Highly recommend this company.

Zach was incredibly helpful in ordering our windows for the home we are building. He patiently answered questions and pointed us in the right direction to get windows that fit our design and budget. So thankful to work with an honest, helpful but not pushy salesman.

I needed to have a few windows repaired and I was on a time crunch. Denise, in the office, was able to get me on the schedule quickly and Mike came out to look at the windows and fixed them right then and there! Mike was not only very professional and courteous, he saved me time and money. THANK YOU to both Denise and Mike! You guys are the best!

I am one of the Beeler Townhouse board members at Copper Mountain who had to make a choice among window contractors for a $400,000 window renovation project on an 1982 property. I also helped another Board member coordinate the project during construction.

Yes, everything took longer, including responses from Gregory, but that is normal in a small county experiencing a building boom. I can say this because I was my own general contractor for our single family house in Frisco, 20 years earlier in another boom time. Nothing has changed.

You never know what is in store when remodeling and everyone has to be flexible. Gregory found much of the window framing was rotted and it had to be replaced. This framing was also structural . Gregory took charge and quickly found framing subcontractors. They kept detail of all additional man hours and material costs so we could make a presentation to surprised and financially disappointed homeowners.

The end product is great. From the outside the new windows took years off our property and on the inside our views are greatly enhanced. The windows are also much more energy efficient, reducing our heating bills. Win, win, win.

I will use this company again and again.

Gregory Door & Window recently undertook a huge window renovation project for our townhomes at Copper Mountain. The results are transformative. Our views have opened up and our place seems exponentially larger. Can't wait to see the difference in our heating bills. This was a thorny project handled in a most professional way.

We built a custom home in Silverthorne and the original quote provided to me was $48,276.56 in the spring of 2015 when construction began. In May 2015 I met with the contractor and 9 windows were eliminated from the architects' plans and at least 6 windows became smaller. Would this not result in a less costly estimate?? Any thinking, honest person would say yes. However we were charged as if NO changes occurred to the window package. We were charged in 2015 $48,507.12 for our windows. Our windows were ordered in May 2015 after changes confirmed by Andersen and my windows were manufactured 6/10/15 and 6/11/15 stamped on the windows. delivered in Aug 2015 to the site. That we were charged improperly is obvious. In Dec 2016 I went to Gregory Door and Window and received the window package quote for $44,000 and when I got home noted we were overcharged in 2015. However when asked a day later why we were overcharged John Gregory refused to answer! My lawyer later asked him about the $44,000 quote and Gregory said he didn't recognize what it was!! Can you believe that? HE GAVE it to me. He opined it "must have been an early quote". BS. The early quote was $48, 276.56 before windows were downsized or eliminated. Run run run from these people. Evidence shows we were overcharged $4000. I told Andersen Windows they should not let this business represent their windows because of what they have done. Update: I see the owner has responded with gibberish. Are you saying the builder is equally as deceptive as you? I won't argue that. You have failed to say 1) why did John Gregory refuse to answer for HIS quote he GAVE to me in person? 2) why would your original quote ( NOT MY QUOTE) not reflect a cost drop with eliminated or smaller windows? Answer that why don't you! I have uncovered a cabal of the corrupt in Summit County and most of them have slithered out of the defunct Myriam Enterprises. This business owes us $4000 but they refuse to admit it..

We had great experience with Lori. She held our hand throughout the whole process and kept her eye on the details. We risked with bright red color outside and wood on the inside and it panned out well for us. Thank you!

They worked on my house and it was terrible. I wrote out a ten page list of problems and they said they weren't going to do anything else because they thought we were just finding a reason to not pay them. So they sued us and thought the Judge would award them the contract without fixing the problems. They must have had a total rookie donthe work because we had a manager independently report back to the judge how awful the workmanship was, including door locks that wouldn't open without lifting the entire door up until the deadbolt aligned and would unlatch. The judge favored the local company and gave them payment before work was satisfactory, but they spent tons of hours correcting misfit trim and screws have screwed in that ruined doors so bad they had to replace them, too. They recommended a painting company that said they painted the trim, but it was primed in white and they didn't even lift up a brush and said they didn't want to ruin such a nice looking primer because they wouldn't be able to match the original wall color and the paint company didn't have computer matching capabilities and we are talking about Benjamin Moore Paint, a major US retailer. I've never dealt with such rank amatures that think they have a monopoly on such a small town until Lowes rolls into town and if nothing else, keeps the monopolies in check. Thank the Lord for Lowes or this small town would be so rotten, the devil himself would turn himself in for fraud. What a joke these people are and shame on them for the sloppy expensive work they try to pass off as quality. You would think the judge would tell them to shape up, or get out of dodge, but they seem to like trouble more than the truth. And then he tells all the customers he's a Gulf War veteran and expects a red carpet to instantly be planted at his feet while he rides through Jerusalem, I mean, Breckenridge. And he's 10 months in arrears on his payment to us. Skip the drama and local embargos and just go to Lowes in Silverthorne and be glad they stay around with reasonable priced.

Eager to support a local business, as well as having had a positive "front door project" experience, we elected to go back to Gregory Door and Window for the fabrication and installation of a pair of entry closet doors. Five months from the time of receiving a quote along with providing the requisite 50% deposit, our closet doors were installed by Mike, from Gregory Door. Problem: the door casing was installed out of square with the ultimate knock on effect of the doors hanging out of square. One door handle hung lower than the other due to poor door installation. One of the doors was scratched. The door box latches were poorly installed and poorly located, so that the doors never closed correctly and rattled. Calls to Zach Fisher only netted us time spent waiting for him to visit the job site, which never occurred. A conversation with Mike (who could not remember installing the doors) netted the same results...ZERO! After much dialogue we paid up the balance and considered this project a very expensive project gone wrong...over $1700!! Over five months of waiting for doors, along with over $1700.00 spent has us feeling that we will never use Gregory Door again, nor refer them to anyone. Yes, I'm sure the excuse can be made that we should have been on site when the doors were installed, rather than providing a door key and trusting the job would be done correctly. End Result: we hired an independent contractor to dis-assemble the entire door system (casing, doors and box latches) to then reinstall everything correctly!! What We Expect: a cash refund of the $420 that was part of the original quote for door installation.

I am disappointed in this business.

I went with them based on a recommendation from a friend and local real estate agent in Summit County.

They were slow in the first measurements but, they offered quality products at a competitive price - higher priced than other bids but, since the products offered were good and they came highly recommended, I went with them anyway.

They did not order the windows in a timely manner. After 6 weeks of waiting, they called to schedule a second measuring. Two weeks after the second measurements, they called to let me know that they would need to adjust their quote by a couple hundred dollars. Not happy with this but, mistakes can be made. I asked them to send me the revised quote. A whopping 12% ($1100) hike in the quote! No apology. No warning.

I called and asked them to cover the difference since it was their mistake. Their sales rep responded the way I had expected any reputable business to respond and told me that they would honor their initial quote.

The next day I received a call and was told that they would not honor the quote. I would need to accept the new quote or they would not order the windows.

This was two months after the initial measurements had been made! And no windows had been ordered!

Is this bait and switch? Poor customer service? Poor quality assurance?

How about all of the above.

After speaking with one of the owners who assured me that there was no way they could cover the cost difference that was entirely their mistake, I decided to find a different company to install windows at my residence.

The cost difference was justified as labor to install a sliding glass door that was mistakenly not added to the initial quote. Cost of the labor - $1100. Wow. That much labor to install a sliding glass door? Think of the math. If a window installer made $100 dollars an hour (which they don't) 11 hours to install a door? Or, maybe two installers at $50 (which they still don't make) an hour - 5 1/2 hours for one door. Really? Wow.

$1100 is the cost of losing a happy customer. And, apparently, the labor cost to install a sliding glass door.

Steer clear of this company. There are better out there.

Poor Quality Glass - Sloppy Installation; I ordered a large piece of glass from this business and after installation I noticed a significant bubble in the glass with distortion around it. They told me this was within the manufacturers tolerances, and would not replace it. Considering the size of the defect this is hard to believe, but even if true, I would never order glass from this business if the risk is having a defective piece of glass installed. I did get them to flip the glass so that the defect was in a less noticeable location but they refused to discount the glass itself even though it was clearly defective. I suspect that they could have returned the glass to their supplier if they had found the defect, but once it was installed, it was their mistake and they would not take the responsibility for installing a defective piece of glass

The installation itself was not very good either - the sealant between the glass and the window stops is bulging out all over the place and is very sloppy looking.

Bottom line - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - or else you run the risk of getting defective glass.
