We cannot say enough positives about Choice Home Improvement. Justin Masiarczyk showing up on our doorstep one day was literally (really!) an answer to a prayer.

That day, Justin informed us of the hailstorm in our area, the telltale signs of damage which his informal inspection revealed, the deadline to file a claim, and his willingness to steer us through the claims process. We accepted his offer to open a claim that very day in August, 2024, in our living room, where he spoke to our homeowners insurance company and had me verify the request. That very week an adjuster was sent to our house for the formal inspection, which Justin also attended, and in one more week we were approved for the roof! A week out from then, we had a sizable check (over half the total value of the new roof) in the mail from our insurance company which was the first payment to Choice Home Improvement, along with our own smaller check for the deductible, and in two weeks from then we had Choice's crew over to our house for a brand new roof!

After that, in some weeks the insurance company sent out another two checks for the remainder of the cost of the new roof, which we also delivered to Choice Home Improvement. I am not guaranteeing the reader that your homeowners insurance process will go this smoothly or quickly, but Justin impressed us with his knowledge of the qualifying damages as well as the roofing materials and construction, his ability to interface with the adjuster sent by our insurance company, his availability to us at all hours to answer questions, and his handling of all the steps with our homeowners insurance company.

Because this business is based on having the insurance company pay for the roof, obviously it takes more time than it would if you paid yourself -- but the benefits are obvious, and time is worth the wait if your construction is paid for! Justin's expertise was key here in helping us feel comfortable and confident through the process. We cannot thank him and Paul Masiarczyk enough for delivering a product in as painless a manner as possible from the standpoint of our pocketbook and our convenience. Life is short and you don't want to be worried about your roof -- We now have a roof of the highest quality which will last for decades.

This is my first time ever posting a review about anything, but Choice Home Improvement was a wonderful experience. Paul and his crew were amazing. I had a new garage done. Paul was kind and thorough. Never rushed my questions (I had many), took time to tell me the why and what’s of what would work best for me. He was always available throughout the whole process. The crew was professional and well mannered. Cost was comparable. Actually did a few small extras just because they were awesome. Most importantly the time management of the team and management were spot on. I found their ad in our church paper and glad I did. If you are looking for contractor, this is it. Will be using them in future.

Justin is very good at what he is doing, I would say if you have a chance to have him come in and work for you you will probably be very happy. He has people he uses for his jobs that are very courteous and work hard Andy get the job done the way is should be done. Justin had to work with my insurance company to get things taken care of for me. I have some pictures of the work that was done in a days time by the crew he had come in to do the job.

I have used Choice Home Improvement for many projects over the years. The first project they worked on for me was my roof in 2002. 21 years later, it still looks fantastic. I was living overseas at the time and I worked with them over the phone for everything. I plan on using Choice Home Improvement for a roof and home improvement project on another home I own soon. They do great, reliable, honest work.

Choice Home Improvement not only does excellent work they also have exceptional customer service. They cared about my wants and needs, making my home their number one priority. We have used this company as well as all our friends and family, they do everything from roofs, remodeling, bathrooms, cabinets and so much more. The owners and his workers have the utmost respect for each individual homeowner. They make you aware of the things they are doing, and will be doing next so you can prepare for each step in their working process.

Choice Home Improvement did a great job converting our three seasons room into a covered patio. Paul started the project quickly and was there every day until the project was done. He was honest about additional cost and time when a structural problem was discovered. The final product is beautiful - multiple neighbors have commented on how well it was done! Highly recommend this company.

Paul and his crew (special salute to Kevin and Ivan!) delivered a five-star experience on a fair, mid-range budget, starting from our first contact through the end of construction. The major exterior reno of our Dearborn bungalow (new roof, gutters, gable, porch and front siding) rolled on schedule around Michigan weather! and on budget! Communication was great throughout, daily cleanups conscientious. The cement work on our new porch and walk are works of art in themselves! Can’t recommend Choice highly enough, especially if you’re new to renovation as we were and not sure who to trust. We’re the envy of the street, and especially proud now to call this our home!!

Wow Justin came out to our home to inspect our roof after the massive hail storm we experienced in Northern Michigan.Ive never met a more Experienced and knowledgeable Roofing contractor.After finding numerous areas of hail damage.he contacted my homeowners insurance company and got an insurance Adjuster out to our home.together they got up on the roof .justin showed him the damaged areas and the adjuster agreed fully with his findings.luckily we have replacement cost on our policy so we are getting a complete new roof.because they will have to strip 2 layers shingles and 1 layer of cedar shake.back then homes were constructed with 1”x6” and 1”x 8” boards spaced apart a couple inches for the roof. Justin after close inspection of this. contacted the insurance company to make them aware of this. it would not be up to code. Justine being the professional got them to agree that it will have to be gone over with new OSB plywood.justin is scheduled to come back over in a few days to meet with me and my wife to go over some final details and schedule a start date.he has done all the leg work for us.Not all contractors know all the ins and outs with working with the insurance companies.justin really knows his stuff.I will update my review and add photos when the job is complete

My 77 year old mother decided to go with them and they not only took over 7 weeks to do the entire siding and gutters but had to come out 3 times to fix issues and when I questioned Paul I was talked down on because I'm not a contractor and we finally are done with them. So if anyone decides to go with these guys make sure you take pictures of everything before during and after and be prepared to get a independent contractor to look over everything so it's fixed right before final payment or take them to state or they will screw you over. Especially if you are elderly. Shame on you and for trying to take advantage of elderly people. I'd like to add that it's been over 2 and a half years, and still have not received our shudders like we were supposed to. Paid for them after being threatened because stuff wasn't finished.

Was a little skeptical but justin and his boys showed up and did my entire roof from tear down to the last shingle in a day! These guys were great! I cant wait for my siding! These guys have showed up and showed out!

We used Choice Improvements to replace all windows in our house. We were looking for wood, high quality windows to replace our old windows with the same look. They were able to find what we were looking for, gave us a good quote, showed up on time and replaced all windows. Good customer experience.

I had wind damage to my roof from a storm. I made a claim through my insurance. Paul met with the insurance adjuster for the inspection. He handled everything through the whole process with the insurance company. I didn't have to do a thing. My new roof was installed quickly. My experience was so great that I used him for my gutters as well. I highly recommend Choice!

My father passed away in August and the last thing we needed was to have to find someone to do our roof, but Paul was very easy to talk to (no pressure with upsales) and gave my mother a good price for everything (actually cheaper than the friend of my brother who did the roof poorly 16 years ago!). Everything was done in one day and my mom is very pleased with the results!

BAD Choice. NOT located in Garden City, they closed years ago but still advertise that address. Make sure you verify where they are located in case you need to send them court documents when you get ripped off too. $7000 siding that has been falling off since installation in 2015 and continues to do so. Paul was in such denial I had to take him to court and I was awarded a judgment. Paul gave his word that he would fix the issues but since he is a man with no honor he disappeared after the judgment. Unfortunately, after getting quotes to fix this hacks work the judgment was not near what is required for proper repair or replacement. Maybe you will get lucky but my advice is hire a real professional! Do your research & don't get taken advantage of like us.

Choice was great! They were able to come out, give me an estimate and let me take a few days to make a decision without badgering me. The work crew that came out was top notch. Did the job and was able to even clean up enough on a daily basis so I could put my vehicle in the garage every night.

Choice did a complete overhaul on my siding/trim and installed a new patio door wall. The work quality was top notch, customer service was first class, and I cannot be happier with my experience. From the start, Paul was very upfront about the entire process and answered all of my questions. The price was very reasonable. The work started and finished well ahead of schedule. The work crew was very clean and professional. The crew even offered to install my new light fixtures at no additional cost, even though it was not originally part of the project scope. Overall, I could not be happier with my experience!

Paul and his crew did an amazing job with my roof. From the sale to installation, I received excellent customer service and support for any questions I had. I've been a municiple utility contractor for 25 years. We pride ourselves in old school values, quality, dedication & doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

This was the WORST CHOICE I've ever made when selecting a contractor & all these years later my wife won't let me forget it. Every time she brings it up, I refresh this review. Every time a piece of siding falls off, I refresh this review.

IF you chose Choice Home Improvement, don't pay in full until after a full inspection of all work done by someone knowledgeable.

⚠️ Choice still regretted! Run away!
The judge agreed & found Choice to be at fault for sub par work but our siding is still falling off our house & needs to be redone ($7000) & the judgment was only for repairs because no one realized how bad it was. I've been a municipal contractor for over 25 years & this is the most unprofessional work I've seen, children with bubble gum & tape would have done a better job. This part of the job lost us $7000, don't trust Paul to do a good job or stand by his work. They do not do this work in house as promised & advertised, all sub contracted. DO NOT take a chance with Choice, there's better Choices available.

The siding is still falling off of our home & having to be repaired regularly. Repair costs since installation have far outweighed the courts awarded judgment. We paid $7000 for a nighmare. Do not trust the owner Paul.

6/5/2020: A BAD CHOICE
The judge awarded a judgment. He recognized poor work quality that was not completed in a workmanlike manner according to standard industry practices, unfortunately it cost more to fix & requires regular repairs since it keeps falling off. I've uploaded pictures to show what my $7000 siding job has looked like since April 2015.

12/9/2019: The siding has been falling off my house since installation and continues to do so even after they claim to have fixed everything. Water has gotten in above 2 windows where the siding fell off. They left the old insulation and starter strip up when I purchased new. Theyve just been coming out popping exposed nails in and telling me I'm good but it's still falling off. They also did not pull city permits as stated in the contract until after taking them to court.

Very happy with the work on my new roof and gutters. Good pricing, the crews were quick and efficient, and Paul was great about checking in and being available for questions. Everything looks terrific and the new gutters are working well. Highly recommended!

I recently had to have my roof replaced unexpectedly. I called around to a few roofers in the area, and Paul from Choice was at my house within a couple hours, gave me a good and fair estimate, and was very straightforward and no-nonsense. On the scheduled day, his crew showed up and started working immediately, with speed and efficiency until the job was done. I'm quite satisfied with my new roof and the entire process.

They put a beautiful new roof in December in one day. Not only was it a cold day and difficult, but it was windy. They got it done SO fast! I was grateful they got it done before the snow. I had several estimates and Choice Home Improvements was by far the lowest.

We had siding, gutter and trim installed in 2018. Paul and his crew did an excellent job. The price was good. They came and worked diligently through rain and sun until the job was completed. Thank you for a wonderful job!! I will be using his services again.

The owner Paul gave me a reasonable price for replacing my roof and the job was done well in 2 days. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because they took out the old gutter guard but forgot to mention it to me. I called Paul and he had his team install the new ones that I bought. The roof looks good, I hope it lasts long :)
If you have gutter guards, I suggest you talk to them beforehand.

Just completed a walk through with the owner of Choice Home Improvement following completion/installation of a new roof. Before deciding on Choice I did what most people - I pulled 3 quotes in. I went with Choice and am very happy with my decision. The price was fair, with a good range of materials and colors.

The skill and workmanship right through the cleanup and haul away was clearly evident and delivered as promised. The crew chiefs know their business. In closing, changing out a roof is a big job. You don't want to make the mistake of choosing the wrong company and chase problems. I have no doubt that I mad the right CHOICE! The owner's name is Paul and I'm certain when you call that is who will pick up the phone. I am in no way affiliated with this company just a happy customer who values good work and would like to see the same throughout my neighborhood!

Home improvement projects are always stressful & worrisome, wishing you had someone you trust to guide you along the way with the answers and results you envisioned. Working with Choice, I have never felt better about the UNDERSTANDING of a project plan before, during, and after my laundry room was remodeled. I had to have a few projects done on my home before I put it on the market. After reviewing different companies I went with Choice Home Improvements. I’m so happy I did. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Paul and his team were not your typical contractors. My wants and needs were listened to and I was given additional suggestions that I appreciated.
All of the work was finished in a timely manner.
The work was outstanding and so was the price.

I want to add that after I sold my home I needed a new roof on the home I was moving into. Of course I had Paul and his team perform this. They did a great job and cleaned up everything after. My roof looks beautiful.
A couple years after my roof was installed I had a leak and I thought it was my roof, but it turned out to be two of my windows. Again, I had Paul and his team replaced these windows and I couldn’t be happier.

7/9/17 - We are in the middle of a 7 week nightmare working with Choice Home Improvement. All we want is for our job to be done and to be high quality. We have tried to trust the company to finish the job to the level that we were promised but have lost faith. We have contacted the BBB as well as local news in hopes that they can help us resolve this.

7/20/17 - We are stilling waiting for our job to be completed. We finally get workers to show up last Sunday. They left all of their materials out as if they were coming back the next day but haven't shown up since. We were even told they were "on their way" and no one ever showed up. We can't open our windows or our sliding door because they were painted shut. We just want our job completed and this company and the people that run it to be out of our lives forever.

Choice Home Improvement is a very bad company. I did bathroom remodeling with them. They sent someone to do this who never did before bathroom remodeling. He said that he is learning to do this now and he does not know how to do this. They did not obtain a permit from City Hall so I had to bring my own inspectors, and glad I did, as he found many unacceptable things. Also, took them month longer to finish than they declared. When I asked to fix all mistakes they sent carpenter to do this. For them to paint bathroom means to paint walls...not ceiling. Really??? They need to learn a ton!!! Owner and his sons were coming on my property to intimidate me. I had to call police and went to court. Never would recommend these people to do any work on my property. Very dishonest people, owner and his sons. Owner is also violent person. In his angriness he took off my door screen. Never deal with these people because you never know what will grow it those minds.

my parents went with choice home improvement company , because they were 9,000 dollars cheaper, then 2 other companies they received estimates from, and picking them from home advisor was a must . There home is over 80 years old and has not one straight 2x4 in it , with that said the crue that sided there home was very prompt, patient and clean and the work they did was wonderful . the office was very respectful and professional to them when they changed there color more then once , even brought more samples out so they could see the new color, and before they ordered the siding .The great thing I liked was the owner came out to visit the job when it was complete and went over any issues with my parents if they had any, and to check the job himself . I would definitely use choice in the future and would recommend there services .

I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend this company. We scheduled a bathroom remodel back in May of this year. We called Choice every week for 2 months for them to give us a start date. We constantly received a 'run-around' or an excuse of why they couldn't start yet. In August we gave up on their business. September came around and they finally called us. After many more 'run-arounds' We cancelled their business as we could not get any straight answers from them or even a break-down of the expected expenses for the remodel. In October they called us saying that we cannot cancel because they have 'money wrapped up' in this job. Mind you, they have not even started the job in any form or fashion, and additionally they have provided us with the poorest customer service I have ever received. My experience in dealing with Choice Home Improvement over the past 5 months has been nothing but an ongoing headache.

Choise Home Improvement helped us change our yard space from an out dated pool to a beautiful deck and patio. The contracter sat down with us and explained what was to done and the cost.The teams of carpenters, land scapers, electricians and plumbers were compedent workers. They got the job done quickly and professionly. We were happy with the results and would recommend Choise Home Improvement as a very reliable company.

I had my bathroom updated by Choice Home Improvement a couple of months ago. In the beginning I was a little put off by the time it was taking. It seemed that workers would come, do a couple things then leave. A little more through the process, I asked one of the workers and he explained that certain parts of redoing my bathroom were his specialty and other people were experts at other areas. This put my mind at ease about the time it took. Now that the bathroom is finished, I am very happy. It looks great! I will defiantly use Choice again when another renovation comes up.

I had concrete work done by Choice. They put in a patio which was done in stamped concrete. The project only took about a week. This included Choice getting all of the necessary permits. The crew was very professional and if friendly and the patio looks great. The salesman that originally came out kept me informed of every step of the project. I would recommend Choice for concrete work. We love our new patio.

I will use Choice Home Improvement for ALL of my home improvement projects. I was very distraught when my roof started leaking last December. After searching the Internet and calling about 12 different companies (all of whom did not want to do a roof because of the snow), I finally called Choice. I set an appointment to get an estimate and, I was afraid the weather was going to be a factor in the price. When they came to give me the estimate, I was very surprised that it was quite the opposite. They told me it was their slow time of year and, gave me a great price. I signed the contract immediately. A little more than a week later, my roof was finished. It looks fantastic! Everyone I dealt with were very curious and professional. The office staff kept e was quick to inform me throughout the week, when my roof was going to be done and, when the crew came out to do the work, I found them to be very professional and friendly as well.
This year I had Choice replace my gutters and add gutter guards and again, the project went very smooth. It was August so, the project took a little longer to get to than the roof however, the office staff kept me well informed about when my turn was to come. Again the workers were very professional and, I was very pleased with the gutters when they were finished.

I enjoyed working with Choice. The telemarketer that called was polite and very helpful. When the estimator came to my house for the free estimate he was very knowledgeable in the project I was looking for. The crew that came out was very good they did a great job on my deck and cleaned everything up when done. The crew was very timely. I do recommend this company to anyone that needs any kind of home improvement.

I had Choice Home Improvement give me an estimate on finishing my basement. The person who was sent out to give me the estimate was courteous and very knowledgeable. We decided to have the basement finished by Choice and we could not be happier with the results. Professional,respectful and thorough.

I would not recommend and would advise not to use. I hired them to do a porch repair and it was a nightmare w/shoddy work that I had to argue to get fixed, I had a door blocked in w/cement blocks. The next step was for the crew to fill in behind the door, then pour cement. I had to stop them from doing this as you could literally see threw the mortar on the cement blocks they installed.

If you do end up using them, make sure every little detail is in the quote it appears their favorite saying "is it in the quote". In my case, the quote said "replace porch rails" to them that did not mean the porch steps, while they eventually did replace them. It was a discussion that should not have had to happen.

The crew also knocked off several stones from my stone-faced wall while repairing my porch. The first thing out of Choice Home Improvements project manager was "it doesn't say in the quote that we are responsible for damages". Again, they did repair but not worth hassle and aggravation.

Finally, back to the porch rails, we were sold by the sample that was shown to us that were heavy aluminum white powder coated welded rails. The crap that they installed was light weight, spray painted, and welded horribly. Some of the rails are only partially welded on and are pitted w/holes from being burned in the welding process. As the quote only said white aluminum rails, did not state sizes, we had no recourse but to accept.

I recently had Choice Home Improvement do a complete tear-off and reroof on my ranch style house in Garden City. When Paul, the owner, came out to do the estimate, there was no high pressure, and the price he quoted was right in line with what I expected to pay. In fact, I needed to have a small trim repair made on another house that I own in the area, and Paul took care of it for me, at no additional charge. It was refreshing not to be nickel and dimed to death. When the job was finished, the original quote was exactly what I paid.

The crew was great too. I apologized for sending them up on a roof in early January, and they assured me that they appreciated the work. They did a beautiful job, and cleaned up after themselves very nicely.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul, and Choice Home Improvement. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I'm on the do not call list and these people have called me a few times after I requested they take me off of their list. They just hang up on me after I request being removed (each time). Would you want to do business with people that can't follow the law, hang up on people, etc.? If they don't care about the rules, how do you think they'll do when they work on your home? Do you think they'll really care about your needs? If they have to call people that are on the do not call list, they must not be getting enough work from their past clients and referrals from these clients. There is a reason for that.

I love my new roof from Choice Home Improvement. All work was done in one day and everything was as clean as when they got there. They were professional, quick and provided a quality product at a reasonable price. After talking with 5 other roofing companies, I was so confused. I am so glad Choice was recommended to me and am happy to recommend them to anyone else.

Choice Home Improvement built a new roof for my house in 2002 and it still looks great. The work was excellent as well as the cleanup. I would recommend Choice Home Improvement to any homeowner!

Scam artists. Use fake telemarketing calls with a recording of a woman saying "hello... I can't hear you... let me fix my phone" or just the word "goodbye," presumably trying to figure out if you are home. They will then have an actual person call you to try to sell you their services. I would never deal with a company that tries to trick me. Shame on you!

Thank you Justin and Paul for the excellent experience with Choice Home Improvement. My husband and I recently purchased a new home which had the vinyl siding redone, however the parts of the house which had wood remained the previous color. Choice was able to locate and match the new vinyl siding and make the entire exterior of the home feel crisp and beautiful. All of the workers were respectful and I appreciate their hard work. Our positive experience with Choice Windows and Siding started when we received an estimate to replace our rotted wood composite siding with James Hardie fiber-cement siding. Justin, their salesman, was very knowledgeable and easy to talk too. We felt we got a fair price, without the usual high pressure sales pitch.

Their installers were very professional and their craftsmanship was orderly. They quickly made several changes that we requested during the installation process. The crew swept up and removed all of the debris from around the yard at the end of each day.

We also had Choice Windows and Siding paint the remainder of the exterior to match the newly installed siding. Their painting crew was very polite and conscientious and did a great job. They took their time to make sure paint didn’t end up where it didn’t belong.

We were very impressed with this company and plan on hiring them again for other home improvement projects that we are planning in the future.
