Chris did some very urgent and much needed repairs to my roof due to squirrels chewing through my fascia/shingles and nesting the attic. Chris was prompt to return my initial call, kept in touch with me on timelines, and was prompt when he showed up to do the work. He walked me through what he planned to do, and even texted me pictures and videos from up on his ladder to show me what was going on up there. He checked in with me every step of the way to make sure we were aligned on what he was doing and why. The price, work done, and service level were all outstanding and I cannot recommend him enough. I couldn't recommend Chris more!!! My husband and I recently bought a house in the area, but we're from Newport, so we don't "have a guy" for everything up here like we did in our hometown - it's a strange feeling! So, when we had some shingles blow off the roof, I called every roof company in our city (EP), then Providence... I either received no call backs or quotes that made me almost pass out - because for just a few shingles I knew it couldn't be thousands and thousands like these other people quoted me (also telling me I needed a new roof, a new this, a new that...) I believe I got these high quotes because my husband wasn't home, I clearly didn't know what they were talking about, so they figured they could jip me since I didn't know any better. Well I DID know better then to just hire them!! I finally made some friends in my neighborhood and asked who did their roof - they told me Chris and that highly highly recommend him - now I see why!!

First of all Chris answered immediately. I explained the problem, he said he'd stop over the next day to access the damage and give me a quote. He did exactly that. the quote he gave me was a FRACTION of what all of these other roofers said, and he did not say I need a new roof right now (when I do though, you know who I'm calling!)... he gave me the quote and was able to sneak my roof in within two days since it was a quick job!

He was so friendly and professional. He kept in contact with me on when he'd be here, he sent me pictures and explained why I needed certain things done, he really really truly made me feel comfortable with the decision to use him!!

I can't sing this man's praises enough!! Take it from a woman who owns her own award winning business for almost a decade and has worked with every kind of business you can think of with my job - and this guy was honestly one of the most easy going people I've ever worked with. Also take this from a woman who is currently under way too much stress, plus no sleep or peace because of a very new kitten, and my husband works way too much to have time to take care of this right now - the last thing I wanted to deal with was fixing the roof and some guy taking advantage of me by charging way too much.

Chris and his team replaced the roof on my home last year & did a superb job. I recently needed a repair for a broken metal edge of a roof on a 2 family home. I called Chris to see if he could help me out with this small job. Despite his busy schedule, he made time to come out and take care of the issue as soon as he could. I had a small leak in the roof of my home and called a few different companies to quote it. Chris was the only contractor who actually got on the roof to see what the issue was, identifying a small puncture in one of the shingles. The other contractors used drones and could not see the same level of detail. They also tried to sell me on an entirely new roof, which I know from my recent home inspection is not necessary at this point. Chris is honest, prompt, pleasant to work with and reasonably priced. I will reach out to him when it’s actually time to replace the entire roof.

C&J Construction replaced my roof Nov. of 2014, still looks great! Recently I contacted Chris Jackson because of water coming in on inside wall of chimney. He immediately came out as a "service call" to inspect the situation. He re-caulked along the metal flashing and also suggested repointing the brick on the chimney at a later date. I'm very impressed with his responsiveness and courtesy. It's a pleasure to deal with someone with integrity that stands behind his workmanship.

TLDR: professional, responsive, quality work, what else to say?

A bit more, if you want the full story. We bought our house in 2006, and the home inspector told us we needed a new roof. Great, so put it on our list of things to take care of fairly soon. As anyone with a home in Providence (or probably anywhere else) knows, you are subjected to a constant barrage of people walking by trying to sell you some sort of home improvement, or solar service. But because we were new to the game, and because we knew we did *actually* need a roof, we let one of those soliciting companies give us an estimate and because we were too lazy to shop around, we let them do our roof. It was cheap, and that's about the only thing good I can say about that job. About a week after the job was completed, the *SAME COMPANY* (heck, I should probably call them out: RI Home Improvement) called to tell us the were "just passing by" and "our roof looked like it was in bad shape" and "would we be interested in a free quote." When they installed the roof, they told us that as long as there was only one layer, they could just put new shingles on top of the old ones...which they did. Jump ahead 11 years, we decided to put solar panels up (and having learned our lesson, we asked around and went with Newport Solar, who did a great job). They looked at our roof and said it was in good enough shape to put up the panels, but once they started the job realized the shingles were not doing very well, probably largely because there were 3-4 layers of shingles in many places—the other company never should have put them on without taking the others off. They went ahead with the solar install, giving us the generous option to remove/replace when we needed the roof replaced.

So, about 2 weeks ago, we finally started getting water in one of our upstairs bedrooms. This time, we went to the neighborhood facebook group and C & J was mentioned over and over with great reviews, so I called and talked to Chris. He got right back to me, and was out to inspect the roof the same day, as soon as he heard we were having water coming into the house. The install was complicated, because it turned out that the leak culprit was the chimney, not the roof (which did still need to be replaced), and because we needed to coordinate the solar panel removal with Newport Solar. Chris recommended A-Tec for the chimney (also great to work with!), and helped schedule and coordinate with Newport. In the end, we had a new roof on our house in less than two weeks from the time we called about the leak. The quality of work is fantastic. Everything was documented from beginning to end, the clean-up was spotless. Really, I can't think of anything to complain about, and would highly recommend C &J to anyone looking for a new roof in the Providence area.

Work is methodical, workers are constantly keeping the grounds clean. He goes the extra mile to satisfy. His prices are better than the competition for the same product.

I was recommended Chris through a friend and it was one of the best recommendations I ever received! He was very responsive to my many questions, talked me through everything, and was helpful with every step along the way. On the day of the replacement him and his team were did excellent, quick, efficient work. Absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of roof work. 10/10 stars for everything!

Chris Jackson fully replaced my roof 5 years ago, and I am incredibly happy with his work. His crew of 12 workers stripped two layers of 3-tab asphalt shingles, laid down weather-proofing material, installed a roof vent, installed architectural shingles, and cleaned the whole area around my house, in 5 hours! A couple days later the dumpster was hauled away, and Chris came down to magnetically sweep the driveway, and only THEN would he accept payment.

I'm happy to see that several of my neighbors have used him since, and all have been exceptionally happy with the work done.

Chris responded very quickly and was very proffessioanal. The entire crew was proffeaaional and courteous. Excellent work quality. Very easy to work with and made sure I understood everything that was being done. Will be using them again in the spring.

Chris and his crew are top notch. We hired them last year to repair and replace a portion of our roof that was damaged and hired them this year to replace the rest of the roof. They communicate clearly, provide excellent workmanship, and work harder than any crew I have seen. They came in on two weekend days since it rained during the week they were doing our roof. They repaired an old skylight and put in a Velux skylight which now illuminates a bathroom that was quite dark. I highly recommend Chris and his crew. We are so happy with their work.

Chris and his team came to replace our roof yesterday and finished up today. I can't believe how fast they finished the job! Price was great for the amount of work that got done in that time, and Chris sent us pictures of the work as it got done so we could see how it progressed. We worked with Chris and his team on a roof replacement for our 2-Family home in Pawtucket. When Chris gave us our quote, I was impressed by his knowledge of the industry. He called out that something we had going on was no longer to-code since it was so old. We did some research and found that he was of course correct. No other roofer that we got a quote from mentioned this.

When install-day came, we even got comments from our neighbors as to how respectful all of the workers were, and how they all looked like they were having fun! They were singing along with songs, and worked like a well-oiled machine. They did our whole roof in one (very long) day, and left with smiles on their faces. It was such a pleasant experience, I wish I had another roof to replace just so I could use them again!

My wife and I chose to go with Chris and his company to roof our house after seeing his work and hearing glowing reviews from several of our neighbors. He did not disappoint. From the initial quote to the final cleanup, it was one of the best experiences we have ever had with a contractor.

We hired C & J Construction to strip and install a new roof on our single-family house in October 2021. They gave us a fair price, clearly explained the scope of work, started on time, and took care to clean up at the end of each day. The work did extend a few days longer than planned because they found a problem previously covered up near our chimney, which was causing a leak during heavy rainstorms. And I am pleased to say that after going through the winter and many heavy rainstorms, we are leak free.
