I had my roof replaced in prep for solar install. Roof on the house was about 15 years old, so not needed yet, but would be and I didn’t want to deal with panels coming off and back on. The garage roof definitely needed to be replaced. This is my honest review, and subject to change based on follow up.

First the good:
-John the sales guy was fabulous. He responded immediately, took time answering my questions and suggested removing the chimney since we have a heat pump and don’t use the furnace any longer. Something I never would’ve thought of so definitely appreciated that
-the crew did do a great job cleaning up the yard and job site at the end, and putting everything back when they were finished
-roof looks mostly great (more on this later)
-cost was similar to other quotes I got; went with them bc they’re local

Now the not so great:
-I was told the gutters would be removed when they were taking the roof off, and then reinstalled when finished. However, that didn’t happen. There is so mild gutter damage/denting/places where it’s not all the way attached now. Am I positive this occurred from the roofing job? No, as I don’t regularly inspect my gutters. However, they weren’t removed or sprayed clean inside like I was also told they would be.
-honestly, the project manager was not that great. I believe Noel is his name. He arrived after many of the crew did, and just didn’t seem particularly involved. He also forgot to schedule my dumpster pickup, so it was in the driveway an extra day. Which, if it was placed where I’d asked it to be placed, wouldn’t have been a big deal. However, it wasn’t, and it blocked access to the garage during extremely hot days and one of the cars needed to park outside.
-I had one of my vents moved by a plumber to the other side of the roof to make solar install better. Allegedly the cap my plumber left was too small. But no communication about that or fix made, and now it’s just a huge white pipe sticking out of my roof in the front
-there are waves on the back of the garage roof. Again, allegedly bc it was “not level” and “bad plywood”. No communication. And most of the waves area is with brand new plywood. And joists are level inside the garage…
-it’s been over a week since I reached out last to him, no response or follow up.

The team that did our roof was awesome. Hard working, respectful and in sync with each other. The crew chief Bill Healy was on the job all day. Totally satisfied from the beginning with Chase through the finish with Bill. The yard was cleaned up like they were never there.

We had an original roof on a 1956 house and Bill and the crew did an excellent job staying on schedule even with the additional plywood replacement that was needed. He was friendly and the crew did an great job cleaning up afterwards, if it wasn't for the new roof you couldn't even tell they were there. I didn't have to do anything after they left except admire my new roof.

Brown Roofing did my siding a few years ago and they recently did my roof and any future work will go to them! They were so professional from start to finish, from Geoff coming out for estimates, Jenni in the scheduling department calling to arrange everything, project manager Noel communicating before the job and the day of, the crew on the roof was efficient and cleaned up so well, all the way up to Ed. They have a customer for life!

Brown is a great name for the company considering its the same color as all of their workers, i got quoted at 30k for a new roof so i just requested a repair, they charged me $1500 to have a mexican go up there with a can of flex seal!

Staff was professional, greeted me at the door and explained the process of my roof repair. They made some adjustments on the fly to make things match better . Was a great experience !

My elderly parents had a leak in their roof against a vent pipe. They called Brown for an estimate. The guy came out and told them $1200. My father said, No way. The guy then said, ok, $650! My dad said, see ya later.
My mom then called another local roof company that has 3 letters for their name. The guy came out, fixed it in 30 minutes and charged them $100.

From the initial sales process with Chase, to the actual project with Bill and his crew, this company is nothing but professional and clear in their communication. Never did I feel that there were hidden costs or up-sells happening. The job was done efficiently, beautifully-done, and the cleanup afterwards was spotless. I would highly recommend Brown Roofing!

Billy and his crew were on the job at 7:30 and stripped old roof, rake & fascia and replaced with new and started clean up at 4. They were professional, neat, and performed quality workmanship. Through Billy leadership the crew performed beyond expectations. Would recommend them for any roofing project.

The entire experience with Brown Roofing went well. From the first meeting with Geoffrey Hiltz, Sales Manager to the completion of the work. Geoffrey was quick to assess the problem and come up with a solution while explaining his reasoning and the details of the solution and the amount of supplies needed.
The staff followed up quickly to set the time for the work and were flexible with my schedule. The work crew showed up promptly, worked diligently and cleaned up the site well. It was a great experience. They replaced the soffits and facing in the front and back of the house and reinforced it with wood. I was very pleased with the final product. They also went beyond the original contract and noted that we had an issue with one of the door frames and fixed that as well.
I would highly recommend Brown Roofing and will contact them again.

We had four quotes and Brown Roofing was by far the highest. We chose and paid Brown because we are hoping for this to be our forever home and Brown was offering more than any of the other companies.

Had our roof installed last week. Communication was easy and everything went smooth days before and day of. Thank you to our sales person Szymond and Brown Roofing.

My only complaint is that our pup on the same day had found chicken wing bones which had been thrown on our driveway as well as our grass. This has been frustrating (still finding bones) and also I thought unprofessional of the crew as they had a dumpster five feet in front of them also knowing we have a pup that they had seen and spent time with.

Bill and his crew were top notch! Super professional and solid communication. They left my patio cleaner than they found it. Geoff in sales was well informed and helped us understand all the details ahead of time.

Sloppy, unprofessional work on roof replacement - many issues. To start with, they broke our gutter guards while replacing the roof. Additionally, pieces of the new asphalt roof fell off immediately after installation. To top it off, they charged us for siding fix, and less than six months later the siding they fixed just fell off.

Wonderful company, Brian was super personable and helpful with looking over every bit of our roof and concerns with it. Would definitely recommend to those looking for service!

Brown roofing did an excellent job on our roof and skylights. We had Austin the sales rep come out and give us a quote and answer all our questions right away as they came up, he was quick to respond and very kind. The other Austin, who was our project manager was excellent the day of the job. He kept us informed of the progress through the day and had his crew take extra care not to step on any of our plants! They cleaned up our property perfectly at the end. We are still amazed that they were able to do all that work with so much care in one day. We will be using Brown next year to redo our windows! Highly recommend this company!!

Really great experience. We had our chimney completely redone by Brown Roofing due to leakage, algae, etc. They completed the job in the matter of 24 hours, super professional, and didn't leave a mess. It's really telling when you receive a request to rate a company months after they've completed the job. No issues after almost six months now and we've been using our fireplace almost every week.

We are so impressed with Browns Roofing work on our home in Middletown. The estimate was right on target with their pricing. The foreman discussed everything they were doing step by step, The many workers were swift, efficient, thorough and the clean up was pristine. I wish I videoed the project for others to see.

This review only speaks to a project quote as I didn’t make it to the job phase. For that reason I’m giving a few stars with the intention of providing somewhat of a “benefit of the doubt” that the project would have been completed satisfactorily had I moved forward. Unfortunately, the quote for the job came in at what I thought was a jaw-dropping number, so I elected to source another quote. My next call resulted in a quote that was 1/4 the price; yes, you read that correctly. The job was completed by the other company yesterday to satisfaction, so this experience makes me very hesitant to do business with Brown in the future. Make sure you shop around, and Brown, you need to be more careful with your quotes.

Project manager was nice and professional, and they got the roof done a lot faster than I thought it would take. I'm happy with how my roof turned out and would recommend them to someone else.

Really Frustrated with Brown Roofing. I only needed a section of my roof done because it was leaking. They didn’t have shingles that matched. So we chose to do the whole roof (even though the price was extremely high) but they said it had a 50 year warranty which sounded great for a multifamily. Come to find out the “pitch” to the section I needed done was too low, so they couldn’t put shingles on it and used something called SBS. Which I was not informed of Because if I knew that I would have just done that one little section. And come to find out the warranty for that SBS is only for 10 years. What a waste. I’m really frustrated that I could have spent 11k instead of 30k. Which is ridiculous. The sales guy just apparently doesn’t inform you of what they are actually doing and putting up. Because I was told shingles. And shingles were not done. And I wasn’t aware until after they installed everything and sent me photos. (Which is strange because that part of my roof had shingles prior to them coming out) also annoyed that a mess was left after day 1. Nails and staples all over my grass and walkways, which I had to clean up just to bring my dogs outside. All around infuriating. And also, if I paid for these shingles in that area, Where are the extra? I wasn’t left with any. And I’m sure they didn’t use them all. They also put shingles on an awning that I told the sales person I did not want done because we would be demolishing that come summer. What a waste.

The team made the entire process seamless! From the assessment / quote process, to scheduling, all the way through clean-up. I appreciated the detailed assessment and pictures… that lead to a detailed quote. Tyler and Austin were both professional, friendly, and thorough! Thank you for a great experience!

Bill checked on us every step of the way and made sure we were in the know and ok with everything going on. He made some excellent recommendations on adding ventilation and had our chimney repaired without akipping a beat! (And without gouging us on extra costs!!)

Wow- Not sure what happened with this company other than they are doing so well now they don't care about customers. I previously used them for roofing and soffit repairs on my home, but when I called them to come out and do a few minor roof and vinyl siding repairs (labor only because I have the material) Chase quoted me $4300.00! And my neighbor who was referred by me, is getting all her gutters replaced, roof repairs, etc, for a grand more. I seriously wonder what has happened to them. I will no longer recommend nor use them for any work.
