Had an upstairs shower drain leaking into the ceiling on our main floor. Got a couple quotes and Brockmueller plumbing was the most fair. Andrew showed up on time and had the repair done in a timely manner.
I hired Brockmueller Plumbing to fix my leaking toilet in my 1/2 bathroom. It had been leaking under the laminate and plywood subfloor. They came and accessed the situation and assumed the wax ring had failed. After pulling the toilet they replaced the wax ring and replaced the toilet. I was charged $286.47 for this service. Mind you that’s with a $100 dollar discount included in that charge. Within a few weeks I noticed water again coming up through the flooring. I called Andrew back to fix the leak again. They pulled the toilet again looked for a crack and couldn’t see it but it was there. This time they replaced the flange and mentioned my drain pipe may be the issue which could have cost me thousands of dollars. They attempted to place a double wax ring to improve the seal. It immediately failed so they ran out and bought the thicker wax ring. After placing the toilet, wax ring and flange they then charged me another $232.42. So I paid a total of $518.89 to fix my leaking toilet. I felt very taken advantage of for this repair. The work was never guaranteed. I asked to have some type of refund and was told that that was a fair charge for this service as it again included their $100 dollar discount. So there total fee to pull a toilet would have been $718.89 without those “discounts”. I feel completely taken advantage of in this repair. It is now July and my toilet is leaking again. This time I called another plumbing company to repair it. I purchased a new toilet as this new plumber found the crack up inside the toilet. Mind you Andrew said he could not see any crack when they looked. The crack was obvious. This new plumber Gallow & Smith charged me $145 to pull the toilet, replace the wax ring and place the new toilet. That also included them picking up my new toilet from Home Depot and bring it to my home. I have a photo of the crack up inside the toilet. It was an obvious leaking area. Again I am out $518.89 for a repair that should have had some type of backing.
Update to my Review:
I am happy with the resolve of this hard situation. Thank you for refunding my money. I will say they have always been prompt and very polite in caring for their customers. I had had another plumbing issue in my kitchen about 9 months ago and all is well with that service. I agree that people make mistakes and I’m just thankful and grateful for the refund they gave me.
I had a problem I couldn't repair myself. I contacted Andrew for help. He showed up when he said he would, fixed my problem, and left a clean workspace. I highly recommend this company. Thank you, Andrew.
