Blue wave did some work for us and it’s taking me almost a year to emotionally detach to be able to write this review.

I wouldn’t trust all of the five star reviews on here to be authentic from actual customers.

What you get from Russell is good sounding promises without delivery. Things will get stringed along until you realize nothing is gonna get done in time and the work is questionable.

Restoration one clean up our toilet leak in a week. The same day they started, I contacted Russell. This was June 7th. A two week estimate was given to me for the completion of bathroom remodel but ended up a month later with little to show for and $5000 later. Lots of details are left out but here’s the brief timeline that went way longer than we expected.

Jun 7. said the bid will be completed and sent out to insurance 'tomorrow.

Jun 8th, 10, and 12: We talked on all of these days.

June 12 I checked in. The bid still not sent out.

June 15 bid were finally sent out.

June 16 I inquired when the project can get started, you said in a couple of weeks.
-This is a different agreement than what we spoke about on Jun 7th.

Jun 22, insurance approved. Bathtub with bought by me. He told me the plumber was coming out the next day

Jun 24-29 Russell and his team plus the plumber did not complete setting the tub correctly.

We had a baby in the meantime.

June 29, canceled project. I asked for itemized receipt and ended up not refunding us for the little work that was done.

We had another plumber come and assess.
-tub was not leveled
-drywall was cut improperly and did not allow adequate room for the tub to be set.
-no mortar was placed underneath the tub so there was a lot of give when stepping in the tub.
-pee trap was not done as previously noted.
-Valves previously said that it was replaced was done with improper material with plastic valves.
-tub was cracked with a screw hole when previous plumber setted it.

I did a full remodel on my house. And when I say full... I mean FULL. I added 900 square feet to my 952 square foot almost 100 year old house while gutting the current part of it, basically to the studs minus one wall which included ripping the roof off and starting over. Bluewave worked with me and was supportive of me the ENTIRE way. And let me tell you, there were many ups and downs (not their fault, dealing with an old home is not easy).

I have to tell you, from the very beginning when I received the estimate it was more professional than the rest. Then from there, working with the Bluewave employees, they are the best in the business. From the master framer (Will) and his brother Gene who oversaw the project to all of the younger guys on the project they were as good as they come. My kids absolutely loved coming and seeing the guys on the project. They took care of this house and care for it like it was their own.

I truly appreciate the entire Bluewave team and will be constantly referring them out in the future!

They screwed up my floors multiple times and never owned up to it. Wood floors curled instantly after installed the second time and sank into the floor the first time because it was very uneven under the flooring.
Terrible company. The person in charge (Robert) lies and even with a bad review from the floor inspector he still says it’s because of where my condo was located and was not his fault.

Russell approached me and said if I let his company do the water restoration job on my house instead of another company that had already started that he would give me 20% of what the insurance paid him. Instead, he aksed me to pay for a new furance, (that insurance had already paid him for) and some clean up costs because he was waiting for the insurance to send him the final settlement check> not only did he not pay me the 20% commission he promised, he never paid me back for the costs he had my pay for him, well over $6000. Please notice how many Google reviews I submit vs everyone else on here.

Nick and Blue Wave were insanely easy to work with. Very professional and fast. Needed landscaping / concrete poured for a wheelchair lift being used for sober living and needed it all done in 2 days. When I told Nick it was for a good cause he did work for a fraction of the cost and had it done quicker than what I asked. They even used extra concrete to make a walkway, free of charge. Honest people and great to work with. I work with a lot of contractors and he has by far been the best.

I've never taken the time to write a bad review about a company before now. The reviews for Bluewave say it all. Very risky doing any business with this company. I hired them to do some work last month in Spokane and then it was clear the complaints and reviews were very accurate from other customer complaints. Look elsewhere for a reputable contractor.

Restoration 1 gave my contact information to Blue Wave Construction after they finished their work. Josh contacted me and came over to my house the next day. He was great to work with & he stayed in contact with my insurance company as well. Turn around time to get the work started & completed was much appreciated. Patrick & Chris did the repair work on our basement. They both did a great job. Josh was excellent at keeping in contact with me. All 3 guys were very punctual, courteous and professional. I would highly recommend Blue Wave Construction to do work in your home.

I had Blue Wave remodel my kitchen after a water loss and they were a pleasure to work with. Could not ask for a more professional and easy company to work within a profession that can cause headaches. Their communication with the client was great along with high quality work.

Blue Wave Construction remodeled a drab upstairs unit for us in a matter of short weeks, for a beyond fair price, resulting in a solid, straightforward, and beautiful renovation. Highly recommend these guys not only for customer service, but a well balanced mix of efficiency and detail. Will definitely contact again in the near future.

I had Blue Wave remodel my kitchen and bathroom before putting it on the market to sell. They were completely professional, and their work was excellent. They went out of their way to communicate with me and they were very cost efficient. Whenever I had questions or concerns they responded promptly and professionally. I would recommend this company to others for construction services and I will be using them again in the future if needed.

Blue Wave Contracting Inc damaged our property then sought payment for work that was not performed. Blue Wave charged us $27,000 as a down payment then asked for another $15,000 when the work had already been agreed to in a contract. When we told Blue Wave to stop working on our home because we were uncomfortable with their massive increase and change of price, they stopped responding and wouldn't reply to emails or phone calls. They left our home a complete mess. This contractor has flat-out lied to our credit card company saying they completed the job and filed a lien on our house for $27,000.

This experience needs to be brought to light. Our hope is this situation will open consumers eyes to both the predatory ease in which a licensed contractor in Washington State such as Blue Wave Contracting can completely take advantage of a homeowner and what little the home owner can do and how little the State will do to protect consumers in this situation.

I have confirmed with Blue Wave's sub-contractors - plumbers, tile supply company, cabinet vendor and others that none of the supplies we were told had been ordered, nor had they been paid for with our deposit money. None of the items needed for our bathroom remodel had actually been paid for by Blue Wave.

The contractor we hired to ultimately take over and finish the botched project and the licensed plumber that worked on our project have all confirmed the work done by Blue Wave was done improperly. Blue Wave used unlicensed plumbers to do plumbing in our home. Correcting these errors caused by Blue Wave have cost us more to fix than the value of their demo work. How a contractor can remove flooring improperly is beyond me, but they managed to do it. Flooring was removed from the bathroom and instead of cutting a straight line, they took out hardwood into the front entry of the house. New flooring needed to be installed unnecessarily and plumbing work needed to be redone.

We thought this was the end of the torture but no... Blue Wave filed an unsubstantiated lien on our property to try and collect $27,000 for work that was never done AND lied to our credit card company stating he completed the entire project.

We are embarrassed to admit we did not do our research on Blue Wave prior to doing business with them personally. There are several active and ongoing disputes we have discovered with the Department of Labor and Industries as well as increasing numbers of horrible reviews online that echo our experiences with Blue Wave.

I used Blue Wave to fix some small leaks on the roof and siding of my house before winter hit and they did a fantastic job. Russell came out to look at it same day and they had me on their schedule within the week. They are professional and fast. Will absolutely be calling again.

Blue Wave came and did some exterior work on a house I bought as an investment. They're fast, easy to work with, and their prices are great. I shopped around and they came in with the most work for the best price.

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
