Had Blackwood help us repair two sets of french doors - one had caused a leak that got into the basement drywall. They did an awesome job, and Sean, our PM did awesome in keeping everything flowing well, even during all the January weather we've had this year. A few points that also impressed us:

- Their estimate was very reasonable and considerably lower with better quality materials than a comopetitor.
- When Louise and Ed came out to look, they also spent time reviewing the root cause for why the doors had failed - and offered suggestions to fix it, which we did. (Updated gutter system to protect doors from water in heavy downpours)
- As noted the coordinated work during the Winter and meeting our schedules was done extremely well.
- All work done was of very good quality and workmanship.

In summary - 5 stars from us and we'll continue to use them for future work.

We recently had our Master Bathroom remodeled by Blackwood Construction Group, and the results exceeded our expectations. Our previous remodel, done 10 years ago by another company, left us with leak damage, chipped tiles, and a lot of frustration. Working with Blackwood was a completely different experience.
From the start, the sales process was smooth and thorough, helping us navigate the contract, design, and material selection. Louise and Molly were incredibly patient, spending countless hours with me to fine-tune the design and visit tile stores to find exactly what I had in mind.
Ray, who coordinated the project, was exceptional. He communicated clearly, kept us updated on timelines, offered helpful suggestions, and made sure all aspects of the remodel were addressed promptly. What really stood out was his commitment—he visited the site almost daily to check on the progress and ensure the quality of work was top-notch.

We hired Blackwood Construction for a significant home remodeling project, including installing new floors, removing a large structure in the living room to create a more open space, and adding an addition to the existing home. Overall, we are very happy with the results.

The craftsmanship and quality of the work were excellent, and the team was professional throughout the project. While there were some delays with the addition, they kept us informed and made sure everything was completed to a high standard.

Special shoutout to the project manager, Ray, who was highly organized and communicative, ensuring everything stayed on track. We also appreciated Steve in explaining the project in the beginning as he was very transparent, which helped set clear expectations from the start.

We are looking to renovate our kitchen next and we are also looking forward to working with Blackwood again.

Blackwood designed, engineered and built a new kitchen and deck for us. Further, they painted and resurfaced the grout in our master bath. The build included tearing down the old structures, (deck and kitchen) removing all appliances, adding walls, repositioning plumbing, adding electrical and more for the kitchen. The existing deck was removed and a custom Trex deck supplanted the old deck. Blackwood made the experience very easy and worked with us through the entire process. From the original owner "Woody" to the super "Greg", designer "Molly" the process was smooth from start to finish. I was not given any false promises of being the "cheapest" either and found Blackwood to be fair and in the middle. In addition, all of the other skilled craftsman communicated while on the job. If we had changes, Greg and team accommodated and without adding to the bill! We are very pleased with the quality of work that went into hanging kitchen cabinets, barn doors, and laying granite counter tops. I have had friends compliment on the deck and the most often used phrase is "I want one". We highly recommend Blackwood and will use them again.

Deciding to undertake not one but THREE remodeling projects at the same time, we were beyond blessed to discover Blackwood Construction Group to perform absolute magic in transforming our kitchen, master bath and create a carport under a large deck.

From our first meeting, when owners Louise and Edmund came out our home, it was clear that BCG was something special. They were gracious, thoughtful, elegant and meticulous in every detail. Designer Molly was an absolute dream! The team suggested fixtures, fittings and finishes that captured our lifestyle and blended wood and stone textures seamlessly into the rest of our home.

Ray Titus, our project lead, served as everything from engineer and master craftsman to Air Traffic Controller, managing teams of plumbers, carpenters, electricians. He optimized the team and minimized the impact on our life. No surprises, things ran like clockwork.

It might be an old-school observation, but every person who came to our home in a Blackwood shirt was polite, professional, cheerful and very talented. You could tell they took great pride in their work and checked in with me at every step to make sure I was completely satisfied. Going into this project I could not have imagined the process running so smooth, or our being so thrilled with the final product. Blackwood gets the max 5 stars (and a wish I could give them 10) along with my unreserved endorsement.

Blackwood did a terrific job replacing our tired, old deck with a beautiful screened in porch. The project was completed on time and on budget; but, more importantly, the result was the product of excellent craftsmanship, good project management, and active communication with us. All questions were answered immediately, and minor adjustments were just taken in stride. The project manager was routinely on site making sure things were done correctly and the materials were delivered on time. The owner also regularly came by to both support the crew and to check in with us to make sure we were happy with the work being done.

The result is better than we had hoped. I highly recommend Blackwood Construction. They'll be my first call if I need any more projects done.

We had such a phenomenal experience working with Blackwood on our kitchen and living room remodel! Mike, our project manager, had excellent communication skills and kept up in the loop throughout the entire process. He was always willing to stop by the house and answer any questions that we had. He also went above and beyond to help us finish our project on a tight timeline. Also, Louise and Molly were fantastic and always responsive when I had questions about design, paint color, and more. I would recommend Blackwood over and over again! Very professional every step of the way!

Blackwood Construction has been a joy to work with. Through every step of the process of building out the apartment in our basement they have were focused on what we wanted to do and presented ideas that made the vision that we had doable and within our budget.

Once construction began, our project was managed by Mike Heard. He was more of a liaison for us. He informed us which contractors and specialties were going to be at our house every day, the times and timelines for each step of the process. Mike and Blackwood took the stress off of us, which we greatly appreciated.

As the quality of work goes, it is 2nd to none. We have a beautiful apartment with all of the modern style and amenities where an unfinished basement once stood.

Louise came out to go over my kitchen renovation project. She had lots of great ideas and continued to help me put the right colors together over the course of the project. Next step was to pick out my cabinets, countertops, etc. I met Louise and Molly at the office and they already had some samples picked out, which were perfect. They made that part of the process a lot of fun. Then the work began. All the guys working on my kitchen were great. They were professional, friendly, hard-working and really cared about the quality of their work. The big frustration I had with the project was the number of days my kitchen didn't have any work being done on it which ultimately pushed the finish date out about 2 weeks. I get there can be some material issues, but the bulk of this down time was due to a lack of resources. There were other projects that the guys were being allocated to. When it was complete the kitchen turned out beautiful. The quality of the materials and the work was evident and I love it!

All of the team members at Blackwood took great care in ensuring our renovation met our expectations. The team was professional, courteous and friendly. The craftsmanship was excellent. The materials were all top of the line. We look forward to working with Blackwood again.

I don’t even know where to begin. We are so unbelievably happy with how our kitchen remodel turned out! The entire process was seamless, and communication was better than I could have asked for.

I had reached out via email for a quote and they were able to come out and give me a free quote on all my requests (plus extra ideas). Louise Field and Greg came out and measured and let me know that everything I wanted wasn’t a problem at all! I wanted the cook top moved, and a proper island installed.

I then received the quote via email with a full breakdown on costs. We then signed a contract for the agreed kitchen changes.

They were realistic as to when the project could start and let me know exactly how long it would take. They also let me know about things that could take longer that were out of their control- example, permitting.

Not only did they stick to schedule, I half way through the project added additional ideas and they were able to fit them in with ease.

Greg was absolutely fantastic to work with, and I will 100% hire Blackwood construction in the future for any other projects.

Molly, their designer, was amazing and helped us get our dream kitchen.

Each person who stepped into our house was kind, respectful, and made us feel at ease.

Greg M was our project manager. He made sure his crews were professional, clean, and timely. The project came out just the way we had hoped. My wife was a little finicky and Greg and Molly were patient with her questions/concerns...and the change in some designs/colors once, twice, or maybe more times.

Blackwood Construction is great from start to finish. We wanted to do a remodel of our kitchen and one bath. The owner ,Woody, came out and did the estimate, then emailed proposal and pricing. Next was a meeting at their showroom to choose materials. Molly was very helpful in choosing the materials for our project

On folks one who worked on the project were super respectful of our home. They sectioned off areas to be renovated and kept the dust, dirt, and grime to a bare
minimum. They arrived on schedule each day, worked the entire time they were onsite (lunch break not counted), but no goofing off, or shenanigans. The folks plain worked! A couple of hiccups in the project occurred when the crew ran into unanticipated work around. The project manager, Ray Titus, handled it with ease, and they kept on keeping on.
One of the best attributes of the whole project was the dedication by ALL to making the work as perfect as could be. They weren’t satisfied until we were satisfied. Their attention to detail was extraordinary. This was especially demonstrated by Ray. He came by the project daily and made sure everything was done to perfection.
This is truly a great company in todays world! Most places are in and out and work is half done. Not so with Blackwood. They truly strive to provide the best work possible!

Exceptional team! We solicited proposals from four contractors for our interior remodel and selected Blackwood based on price, responsiveness, and the fact that they self-perform most work. Carefully protected the house before starting. Kept us informed with daily visits by the PM (ask for Ray Titus!). Kept the project moving like clockwork from start to finish. We have referred neighbors to them and will use them again in the future based on the trust they earned and quality they delivered.

Blackwood Construction finished my basement bathroom and storage area under a stairwell. The entire project was on schedule and everyone was kind, on time, and easy to work with. Ray, the project manager, was excellent. He kept me informed of the schedule, helped coordinate a design change, and was responsive to all questions. Awesome! From the start we were impressed with the professionalism with how Woody clearly defined the project, Kitchen, Master Bath, Hall Bathe and Laundry room. Sunshine Greg, the project manager, stayed on top of the project and let us know when we could expect workers. The workers were courteous and respectful. If we had an issue it was addressed. We are planning on doing more projects with them. Guess that says it all!!

Just completed the basement project with the Blackwood. From start to finish, it was absolutely positive experience and I do highly recommend the company for your house related projects. The absolute BEST!!! I could go on and on about how great my experience was with these people. I called for help with a backsplash installation and in less than 24 hours had guys at my house working. Greg, Dj and Mason were the nicest guys and experts at what they do- friendly, professional, neat, very detail oriented, they gave my mom and I so many tips and tricks on backsplash install and they even spent a little time saying hi to my dog :) I highly recommend them. I can’t wait to hire them again for any future projects!!

Not responsive or professional - Called 3 times and spoke to the woman who answers the phone trying to get someone to call back regarding a smaller insulating project over a week's time. No one would ever respond back. She confirmed that the guys were getting the message. I had used them about 10 years ago without any problems. Now I will not call them again.

We just completed one more project with Blackwood, and we now have a HUGE detached garage. And once again, we are so happy with Blackwood's work. Ray, our project manager, kept us informed every step of the way! My husband and I both recommend Blackwood whenever we get the chance. We will continue to go back for all of our remodeling needs.

Blackwood has done several construction jobs for us, and a basement remodel is the latest. They are fantastic! We will continue to call them for our large and small jobs. I'm very impressed with their attention to detail, like making sure the crown molding matches the rest of our home, perfect flooring transitions from one room to the next, and even removing cement to give us a wonderful walk-in shower without a lip to step over. Our basement is better than I could have imagined!!! My husband and I are beyond pleased and highly recommend Blackwood.

Woody and his remodeling and installation teams did an absolutely fantastic job on our kitchen remodel. His project lead, Ray, was always responsive to our information needs and ensured work teams were on time and prepared for their work. Every single worker displayed courtesy and professional behavior during the process. As we were living in the house during the process, we never had to cleanup after at the end of the day for any of the steps in the process. Blackwood does it again! We have now used them for four separate jobs, including flooring, a concrete pad, new stairs for our deck, electrical work, plumbing, and numerous other miscellaneous things. Woody, Project Manager Greg, and their team have been wonderful to work with and we will definitely hire them again.

I contacted Blackwood to replace a 20+ year old standing shower stall with a custom tile master shower and they did not disappoint. The team performed an onsite survey of the job and helped me select materials based on my concept drawing. The tradesmen did an excellent job framing, tiling and plumbing everything. Our project manager Greg kept us informed of schedules and met with me regularly to track progress. Everything was kept clean and neat and all flooring was protected, there was never any trash or mess even after the demolition.
The team was even able to expand my shower larger then expected by pushing the framing into an unused wall cavity several inches. We are very happy with the final product and how easy Blackwood made the entire process.

Contracted Blackwood for the remodel of our first floor to include a complete kitchen remodel as well as our half bath and a large built-in in our living room. Woody and his team were excellent throughout the entire process. From the start, Woody helped us with our design providing critical feedback on our ideas. The team was personable and professional. I love the pantry and cabinets they put in. They look great and were way less than the box store. Our new deck is now sturdy and safe for our hot tub. I found the price for the repairs/upgrade on the deck very reasonable. Our main floor laundry room is awesome. They combined our hall closet and bathroom closet to make the laundry room. Those wall are the straightest wall in the whole house. We did not know what to ask for until some of the work was being done. We asked for so many add ons and changes. They were so accommodating to make the changes and add things. Their painter does great work. Everyone was very nice. They became a part of the family...it felt weird when they were done and not here. we will definitely use them when we need to do any other big projects.

We recently hired Blackwood Construction Group to do a complete kitchen remodel including refinishing our wood floors. Woody (the owner) made great recommendations for us and the kitchen turned out nicer than we had imagined. The crew including Dan, our PM, were always responsive to our requests and were just great guys all around. They had compassion for our pets that were there and kept the construction area contained in the middle of my home, which wasn't easy to do. My timeline was to cook in my kitchen for Thanksgiving and they held to their word and even finished a few days early! Blackwoods recently completed a large project in my home. From our first contact with Woody, to daily interactions with Dan, to the final walk-through the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. The finished product surpassed our expectations and was completed on time. Highly recommend this group!

Blackwood has done a bathroom update, a full bathroom remodel, and completely installed a new bathroom (from pulling permits to completion) for us. They also installed a custom shelf unit and did our kitchen backsplash. For each of the jobs, they have made sure we were completely satisfied. Work was completed on time, and even ahead of schedule for the new bathroom over the Christmas holiday period! We have been very pleased and would use them again.

Great company, we are pleased with the results of our renovations. The best part was the project management and the project manager, who was flexible with our changing needs and who worked around our schedule to have regular check-ins. I've done renovations before, and the most telling thing isn't how good the plan or price is (although their prices were very competitive), but how well they adapt to unexpected problems and their willingness to adapt to changing needs of the customer as the project evolves. Additionally, the workers themselves were professional and friendly. We will definitely return to Blackwood if we decide to pursue further construction projects!

Excellent work on our bath remodel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and works to do the job right. We are very pleased with the results and feel we got great value for the money.

This is the second job with Blackwood Construction Group. My single family home had wind and hail storm damage. Both siding and roof had damage. Blackwood worked directly with my insurance company and estimator. They provided all the information needed for insurance to agree to replace 100% of the house siding and new roof. Insurance wanted to replace portions of siding but the Blackwood team helped me through the process each step of the way and provided the insurance company what they needed to justify more than just a patch job of siding that ultimetly would not match. From start to finish, Woody and his team were professional and knowlegable about the repairs needed and working with insurance companies. Full roof replacement and complete siding replacement with Tyvek house wrap, all covered by insurance. Blackwood team was professional and cleaned up each day. Tarps were laid out each day and no bushes or landscaping was damaged. New roof looks great and I can’t say enough about the siding teams attention to detail. The house looks better than new. The first time I used Blackwood was several years ago to prepare my parents home for sale. Exterior wood siding repair and paint, complete demo of bathroom with new tile floor, tile walls, bathtub, vanity, refinish hardwood floors on 2 levels, finish basement walls, ceilings electric, new carpet and repainted paint entire house. Woody and team did a great job on the entire project and the house sold in its first week, recouping home improvement cost and then some. My sister recently contracted with Blackwood to finish her basement and install a below grade window and that turned out to be another professional job done at a good price. I will continue to use Blackwood Construction Group my home projects and highly recommend them for any home improvement or repair project.

One of the hardest things about being a homeowner is finding contractors to do repair work. Blackwood Construction is a godsend because they do a wide range of projects with high quality work.

Recently our list of repairs included fixing a roof leak, replacing a few deck boards, installing a new storm door, and repairing ceiling drywall.

Calling around I heard, "We only install new roofs including the boards," and "We only install new decks from scratch," and "We only install storm doors if you buy them from us."

With Blackwood Construction it is nice to be able to use one company for various projects and not have the frustration of dealing with many contractors. Most homeowners need fixes and repairs, not everything torn down and built from scratch. We highly recommend Blackwood Construction. Of course, when the time comes for a new roof and deck, we'll call Blackwood Construction for that too.

The end product turned out better than we imaged. There were a few glitches with the cabinet supply company and such which is to be expected but Blackwood was still able to complete the project on time and addressed every concern. Well worth the money!!!!

We recently moved into an existing home and soon found that there were a few changes we wanted made to the kitchen cabinets to increase function and storage in the kitchen. The guys at Blackwood were great - they helped us figure out what the best options were and even agreed to install an aftermarket item to best fit our existing cabinets because the cabinet manufacturer didn't have a perfect option available. Several of the requests we had required Blackwood to troubleshoot creative options and help us get the function and look we wanted. My house is sixty years old so I didn’t need it to look like it is a new build, it just needed to shine a little more. When asking around about contractors, Blackwood Construction kept coming up. Finally getting my courage up, I made the call.

Woody came out and we discussed my expectations and various options. I received the quote promptly and found it to be very reasonable

The next part was the fun part. I went and selected the bathroom fixtures. I easily selected ones that were compatible within my quote.

Once the remodeling started, they were patient with our newbie concerns. Each day someone came by to let us know what work was planned for the day and was was next on the agenda.

All the employees were very professional and took pride in their work. These were not handymen, they were tradesmen. At no time did I feel uneasy to have them in my home.

The project was completed on budget and ahead of time which was a relief since we only have one bathroom. Now when I’m asked if my bathroom shines I shake my head no. Then I add, it sparkles.

Woody and his crew remodeled three bathrooms in our house. The installation cost was fair and they did a quality job and addressed all of our concerns. I would hire them again.

We hired Blackwood Construction Group, Inc. owned by "Woody" back in March/April. Major undertaking. Moving bathroom, storage, the entire floor plan changed. Our kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. We have told so many of our friends about the quality of work and the team's respect for our inconvenience, time and space. The program manager Dan showed up everyday to make sure we were happy and things were progressing exactly as we wanted.
We have had the privilege of dealing with many wonderful contractors, but Woody's group surpasses them by far and certainly exceeded our expectations. What sold us on Woody was his attitude. He was not the cheapest, but from day one he said "I will build you what you want, I will not nickel and dime you. If you have a problem, I will fix it". Day one, the team dented our refrigerator. Woody fixed it at no expense to us (and it wasn't cheap). We never had another issue. If we could give him 10 stars, we would. On top of everything, we put time constraints on him for personal reasons, and he made sure the company met them on time and budget. You won't go wrong with this company.
We do want to give up a shout out to Laurie from Mastercraft Design. Woody recommended her because we had special custom requests. She worked well with the Blackwood team and is awesome as well. Totally wonderful, stress free kitchen remodel. We now have our dream kitchen. Oh, by the way, Woody will doing our master bath in January.

Blackwood Construction remodeled my kitchen and master bathroom and I speak highly of their professionalism and fine work. Robert Woods, known to all as Woody, sits down with you to discuss the project and then is always accessible during the work and afterwards.The men who do the work are experienced and very pleasant. Nice to have them in the house. They are very respectful and they clean up thoroughly at the end of the day. I recommend Blackwood most enthusiastically. I just wish I had more remodeling projects!

I trust Blackwood Construction to do all repairs and renovations at my residential and commercial properties. They know what they are doing. They are also very nice to deal with from the office personnel to the builders and can help with design advice in home renovations if needed. Even their plumber is superb!

Woody and the entire team did exceptional work, on budget, on schedule and worked with us as partners throughout the entire project lifecycle. I would highly recommend him and his team to any and all prospective customers.

Blackwood was very professional and easy to work with. Just the right size to handle my home improvement needs and finish the job in a timely manner. They also took measures to contain the dust and dirt from invading the rest of the house during construction and did a great job of cleaning up upon completion.

I could not be more pleased with the work and results from Blackwood. The price was great and the workmanship outstanding. The men who did the work were polite, mindful of my dogs, and concerned when they left everyday that things were neat and to my liking. I'll use them again.

Blackwood installed a basement wet bar, complete with cabinets, flooring and granite countertop. A wonderful job indeed!

A recent, second job by Blackwood involved extensive painting, replacement of kitchen granite, backsplash as well as granite installations in all bathrooms which replaced the cultured marble. New Master Bath WC flooring, new toilets throughout home, powder room pedistal sink and repairing mold damage due to water. All in all, a 5 star job in which we are extremely happy with.

Blackwood Construction has done three projects on our home now. We could not be happier with the services we have received. They gutted and remolded the master bathroom, and now it is a luxurious spa bathroom. Recently they remodeled our mudroom and it turned out exactly how I had pictured it in my head. The entire crew is professional, timely, courteous and clean. We would never consider using anyone else for any of our construction needs.

In an age where everyone runs late.... Woody and Blackwood construction are always on time, if not early! They did a bathroom project in our Townhouse- fixed the sub-floor and replaced the flooring. They took great care while working in the house and were very respectful. They did everything to accommodate our schedule and communicated constantly during the project. I will absolutely use them for any house project from this point forward. So glad we have found them!
