This chimney company is the best. Liam and his crew did a great job for 3 days at our house taking out the old tile liner, installing stainless still liner, new damper and treating our bricks plus a new cap.

Patrick was very polite and helpful. Got right to work, showed me lots of pictures for his inspection, and did a great job explaining what might need to be repaired with my chimney and why.

Black Moose Chimney and Stove is a good outfit. They have excellent customer communication software (including a link to make this Google review). Their prices are on the high side, but fair. Their workers are knowledgeable, courteous, and good communicators.
Besides chimney work and chimney sweeping, Black Moose is a Blaze King wood stove dealer -- not many in this area. Blaze Kings are known for their very high quality wood stoves that are clean burning (EPA-certified -- get the 30% wood stove tax credit before it disappears!); have very long burn times; and have thermostatically-controlled dampers that allow the stove to regulate its heat output -- very impressive!

We just bought a new home with a wood burning stove. Our first. Kelly and Will were amazingly thorough with their inspection and cleaning and Kelly patiently explained everything to us in how to operate, how to clean, and what to look for. Highly recommend!

Kelly and Gordon were fantastic. Cleaning the woodstove and flue is a messy job. They left the area around the wood stove cleaner than it was before they got here. Also, the feedback they provided regarding the status of the flue and the stone chimney was great advise. We’ll be using them again.

They continue to impress. When I had an issue with the stove, they tried to troubleshoot the problem over the phone and when that didn’t work, they sent a technician to look at the issue the same day. Patrick quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue and we haven’t had any issues since.

Friendly customer service, outstanding communication with appointment reminders, texts, and a phone call when the technician was on his way. Chris serviced our two chimneys. He was pleasant & very knowledgeable. He opted out of cleaning the fireplace flue because it didn’t need to be done, which saved us some expense. He was very efficient and cleaned up thoroughly when he was done. Afterwords, he reviewed the inspection report, showed us pictures of each flue, and offered recommendations. We had an initial issue with the first crew that replaced our chimney liner. I reached back out to the company and they sent out a FANTASTIC crew to get the job done right. I wish I had gotten their names, but it was a younger group (20s) a woman and 2 young men that were considerate enough to put down floor protectors everywhere they went, shoveled a path through the full front yard to get to the chimney, cleaned out the fireplace at no charge and worked quickly to complete the job beyond expectations. Would absolutely work with them again even with the issues we had the guest time.

Adding another 5 star review for Black Moose. I've had Black Moose out to the house (at least) twice. Once for a regular chimney sweep and inspection, and just today for an overdue pellet stove cleaning. Patrick arrived on schedule, spent 3 hours here, and did a very thorough job. He was also super polite, and patient with all my questions. I ended up with some education and a perfectly functioning, thoroughly cleaned stove. Thumbs up!

Outstanding service! Tech was very thorough in the cleaning of our pellet stove. We weren’t familiar with the type of pellet stove our new house had, and they took the time to look through the manual with me and look at what the issues were and provided so much more overall education. Way better service than we had experienced from other providers previously. Definitely will be sticking with these guys.

I was really impressed from start to finish. They had no problem getting up on a ladder outside even though it was freezing and snowing. (The last company i used charged more and said they couldn’t inspect chimney outside due to rain)
