If you need help with something, Cody at the paint desk will spend as much time helping you as he needs to. He called around town problem solving for me with esoteric log cabin related questions. He called in a colleague specialist. These people are pros and one of the only places where you can get customer service anymore. Even though this place is 2 hours from my house I will not go anywhere else. Thank you Cody!

Extremely Disappointed – Racially Profiled

My wife and I had a deeply upsetting experience at the Ace Hardware in Laramie, Wyoming. We went in to purchase a small amount of wood screws for a project and were the only people in the store with darker skin. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and asked if we needed help. We said no — but immediately, an employee was called to follow us to the aisle we were heading toward.

He asked again if we needed help, and once more we declined. Instead of leaving us to shop, he stood nearby watching us as we tried to measure screws. After a few minutes, a manager named Nicky walked over, gave the employee a different task, and as he left, she lingered until another employee — who we later learned was the store manager, Jeremy — came to take his place. All the while, other customers (none of whom were people of color) walked by freely without being shadowed by staff.

When we went to check out, my wife commented to a clerk about how it felt like they only follow "brown people" — and the clerk laughed and replied, “Yup.”

We left feeling humiliated, unwelcome, and clearly singled out. This kind of treatment is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We will never return to this store and sincerely hope Ace Hardware takes a hard look at how customers of color are being treated in their establishments.

They helped me many times. Sometimes you need to find a complicated part, something that's hard to get, or when you have to improvise and find something that works to fix something else, even if that wasn’t its original purpose. In these situations, they were very kind and helped me figure out how to fix or make things work by improvising or thinking with me to solve the problem.

Came in to grab some hardware for an automotive repair and there must’ve been some sort of Mix-Up either by stocking staff or even by my own error but the thread pitch of a major piece of hardware was incorrect.

After getting myself through the reality that I don’t know a lot of people here and had no ride to resolve my predicament I contacted the store to let them know there may be an error on the stocking side and explained I wanted to avoid anyone else being in my current position.

The manager Stacy (Spelling?) went out of her way to gather what I needed and bring them to me in her own personal vehicle to make sure my son and I were back on the road.

This act shocked me because today this doesn’t happen but also she had ZERO obligation to go to such lengths.

This store is always clean with helpful staff, the professionalism is genuine but without what I experienced yesterday I would be tearing back into this repair this weekend taking valuable time away from my family in order to finish…now I can relax and enjoy without wrenching in the cold.

Even with a larger, newer hardware store here I always go to Ace. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful every single time, and are always friendly and willing to help. Highly recommend!

This is a nice, clean hardware store with great customer service, free coffee & popcorn. Great job on this location Ace. ☕

we spent two days making repairs on our van in their parking lot and every time we walked in for something, all the employees were extremely willing to help/friendly. shoutout to Byrd for signing me up for Ace Rewards to get some deals and Jeremy (we hope we got his name right)—he spent 10 minutes genuinely trying to help us figure out a solution for a plumbing problem we had. nice people and some things are on the more expensive side, but they have a wide selection of products!

An awesome hardware store that has all of your garden, remodeling, and hardware needs. Plus the staff is very knowledgeable and ready to help as soon as you enter store.

My go to hardware store. A little pricy, but worth it to me to keep my money local. Locally owned franchise, great service (especially Cody), and 90% of everything you need for your project.

I had came here today with a friend to connect a Briti system for their kitchen faucet , 5 years experience in plumbing I have I know what I'm talking about I was looking for a double female coupling adapter for a faucet with the matching threads that would meet The Brita filter instead they insisted I was wrong and suggested that I'd get a female to male which is not what I had asked for Sean the manager tried to assist us and then had wigged out acted crazy and could not leave us after he could not find a part that was probably not inside the store and had failed to let us know that they probably didn't have it his conduct was horrible and I wish not to see this person again inside that store because of how unprofessional he was I felt almost unsafe to be inside I hope that this can be corrected not so much that you guys get this part but that you get your act together because that was a joke

Love to support local business. They have large selection of screws and hardware. The employee are always friendly and free popcorn. Only drawback the prices are higher then most big box stores.

I went here to get some plants for my garden. They have a really good selection in their greenhouse. Their Greenhouse is about half of their store. Lots of organic fertilizers and Pest Control. It's a good store

You know over all it is very clean and generally speaking most of the employees on the floor are patient, friendly and helpful. But lately every time I've gone to go check out there's a couple individuals that need to work on their customer service etiquette. These two fellows have made me feel like I'm a bother or that I'm in their way of doing their job. I already feel like the prices in particular are a little higher than other hardware stores in town but this was my option for today. I'm actually considering taking back what I just bought and never shopping there again.

Clean store with ample inventory... The only critique I have is that EVERY TIME I go inside, I'm approached several times by different employees watching me and asking "can I help you find something."
As an introvert, this does not make shopping a good experience. I'd recommend having people present in case I need something, then I will ask for help.

Fantastic staff who are very helpful. Haven’t walked away from that store without a solution very often at all. I highly recommend.

Why “shop small” in this Cow Town, when you’re obviously getting ripped off with high prices like this place? Price gouging. Just simply Ripping Off Locals!

For a so called “college town”, there’s a surprising number of stupid and weak people that allow themselves to be taken advantage of in Laramie?

It's a good Ace with friendly and helpful staff. They have a lot of options in multiple departments and are well stocked. My only complaint is that it's pricey.

Buy some screw with a knot. It was easy to find stuff and it was fast in the cashier. It's really easy to find the aisle for electricity.
